For the first time in his life Arnav prayed. He pray that if DM existed he would spear the life of his wife. He also prayed for there to be a heaven, so if Khushi didn't survive she would find peace. He sat in the waiting room barely containing his tears, he tried to appear strong in front of his family, specifically his Di. Anjali hadn't stopped crying since the ambulance had drove of with her dying sister-in-law. Khushi has saved the lives of her and her unborn child, something Anjali will never be able to repay her for in this life time.
"What happened!" Buaji entered the waiting room screaming with a distraught Gupta trailing behind
It hadn't taken long for the entire Gupta family to fill the waiting room. There was a blanket of silence that fell over the room upon their arrival. No one could find the words to speak, what would they even say?
A Surgeon had come out of the operating room with his eyes down cast. The entire family stood in anticipation for the news he would deliver. The doctor felt the words die in his throat. The girl was too young to be fighting for her life. They had lost her several times and he didn't know if she would be able to pull through.
"Which one of you gentlemen is the husband." The doctor question
With shaky palms Arnav put his hand in the air "I am."
"She received a massive blow to the head, and severe blood loss."
"What are you trying to say, doctor?" Mamiji stuttered
With a sad expression the doctor went on "Her chances are not looking good. Please prepare your minds." With that the doctor was gone.
"This can't be happening, DM please save my child!" Buaji exclaimed
Arnav fell to his knees too weak to keep up the charade of being strong. He placed his head in his Di's lap looking for comfort, but who would comfort his wife? Who would tell her she's strong enough to pull through?
"You had better pray that my sister makes it through." Payal spit the harsh words at the Raizada family. Turning to her husband she gave a harsh glare. "If my sister doesn't make it then this marriage is over."
"Payal, honey..." Akash whispered
"No I refuse to live in a house where my sister was hated! None of you ever believed in her, you were to caught up in your own emotions to see the truth in front of you. Instead you passed the blame on her!" Payal yelled
"I tried to be a good sister-in-law to Anjali but if your asking me to chose her or Khushi, I will always chose Khushi!" Payal shot at Akash "You know the entire time Khushi was thinking of you Anjali? She didn't tell you about your husbands betrayal for the sake of your happiness. You go around insisting that Khushi ruined your life, your happiness; but Anjali you've ruined her life." Payal spat before leaving the room
"She's right. Anjali, Khushi only ever thought of you." Buaji confirmed
"Everyone just needs to stay calm. Khushi will pull through, I have faith in her and DM." Nani spoke trying to defuse the situation.
Arnav stayed in the waiting room long after the others had left for the night. The doctor has said the damage was sever so they had to preform multiple surgeries that had span over 13 agonizing hours of of waiting, and pleading with DM to save his wife. The love of his live, the woman he knew he wasn't good enough for. If she made it he would spend the rest of his life proving to her that he was.
When to doctor came out if the operating room look tired but somewhat proud. A weight had been lifted off Arnav heart.
"She made it Mr. Raizada. However I regret to inform you that she is in a coma."
"But she's safe right?" Arnav questioned
"She is not yet out of the danger zone, but if she makes it through tonight she should be in the clear."
"When will she wake up?" Arnav inquired
"That's the thing Mr. Raizada she could wake up days from now, weeks even months or years." Clearing his throat the doctor delivered the finale blow to Arnav sinking heart. "There is a good chance that she may never wake up."
