TAANI WEDS GAUTAM
Outside a big fancy wedding garden, it was written in bold with golden glitter. From the looks it seem like a big fatty indian wedding. People were gathering in groups either taking fun of different food stalls or gossiping about the events in the wedding. While the band was playing the superhit music a few young boys from groom's side tried to show off as they danced with attitude in front of bride's sisters and friends.
While in the midst of chaos noone noticed when a group of boys peep in the place.
"Yaar tum log marvaega!" One of them said.
"Arre chal na Rey, kuch nahi hoga." The other replied.
"Agar pakde gaye na, to joote to padenge hi saath mein kahi police ka chakkar na ho jaaye." Rey said.
"I told you isse lana hi nahi chahiye tha. Hum yaha kisi ka khoon karne aaye hai???, ya kuch chori karne aaye hai?? Nahi na! Bas chupke se khana khayenge aur nikal jayenge." The other replied with sarcasm.
"Pakka na swayam!" Rey asked. Swayam nodded.
"Now listen guys, aadhe log ek taraf baki sab mere saath dusri taraf. Vicky, Neil, Bharat tum teeno uss taraf jao. Mein, rey aur Amar doosri taraf jaate hai. Kisiko kisi ki favourite dish mile to inform karna. Ok guys, now get to the mission!!" Swayam said as if provoking for a border encounter.
"Yes boss!" They said in unison.
"Hey swayam... dekh na paneer tikka... tera favourite!!" Amar said but swayam was least listening. His eyes were glued to a particular spot. Rey realised that swayam was not responding. As he followed his gaze he saw a girl looking no less than an angel in white lehenga. Rey smirked as he realised that swayam caught the most fatal disease 'loveria'
"Go and ask her name!!" Rey said breaking swayam's hypnotism.
"Huh!..What?"
"I said go and ask her name."
"What rubbish aisa kuch nahi hai?" Swayam said trying to shrug it off.
"To meine kab kaha ki kuch hai, par tu jis tarah se ghoor raha hai kuch hone ke chances hai." Rey winked.
While they were busy in whether to go and ask her name or not, destiny played in favour of swayam.
"Sharon beta! Idhar aana." A lady called aloud making the girl turn from her place and looking in her direction. She went straight to the lady.
"Sharon.." Swayam whispered while Amar continued concentrating on his food and Rey smirked seeing his friends condition.
"Amar, ye kya kiya tune!" Swayam was brought back to reality with Rey's voice.
"Sorry yaar, Galti se ho gaya." Amar said food still stuffed in his mouth.
"Arre Rey, tere kapde to gande ho gaye." Swayam said.
"Its ok yaar. Mein washroom mein clean karke aata hu." Rey said as he moved to find the bathroom.
"Finally! Now it looks clean."Rey felt a piece of relief. He moved out of the washroom which was way inside wedding garden quite close to its border walls. As he started to move away he heard a few voices coming from behind the washroom. His curiosity leads him to the place from where the sounds were coming and the next that happened made him loose his mind.
"What are you doing?" He asked a girl who was climbing the back wall may be to get out of the venue straight to the main road oustide. The most weird thing being she was wearing a bright red lehenga with heavy jewelries. Though she was no doubt looking extremely beautiful rey could not register the fact what she was doing here.
With his sudden question, taani lost her balance and her long and tiring efforts to climb the wall failed again.
"Aap kaun hai?" She asked innocently and for once Rey got lost in her.
"Mein..Mein vo.."
"Jo bhi ho..please jao yaha se..aur kisi ko mat batana ki aapne mujhe dekha.." With that she started climbing the wall again. Rey looked at her completely confused.
"Par tum yaha chad kyun rahi ho??" He said coming close to her.
"Mein yaha se bhaag rahi ho." She said excitedly.
"What?? Kyun?"
"Kyunki yaha pe sab meri shaddi karvane ke peeche lage hue hai aur mujhe nahi karni." She said pouting and rey giggled but soon he realised what she meant.
"Tum dulhan ho!!!" He said aloud.
"Sshh!!" She put her finger on his lips and Rey was lost in her again. "Ye kya kar rahe ho aap. Sab ko pata chal jayega!"
"Par tum ye shaadi kyun nahi karna chahti? Ladka achha nahi hai kya?" He asked while she moved her head in a no.
"They are demanding dowry!!" He said again. "Nahi buddhu!"
"To tum kisi aur se pyaar karti ho!" He said again. "Abhi tak to nahi.." She said.
"To phir tum bhaag kyun rahi ho?"
"Kyunki mujhe maza aata hai.." She said getting excited.
"What?" He gave her a weird look.
"Ha!! Aur waise bhi ladka achha hai to kya kisi se bhi shaadi kar lo. Mein arrange marriage nahi karne wali. Isliye mein bhaag rahi ho." She was finally on the top of the wall.
"Matlab tum sirf isliye bhaag rahi ho kyunki ye ek arrange marriage hai?"
"Offcourse! Mere liye to koi ddlj ka Raj aayega aur mujhe udda ke le jaayega. Hanuman Gali ka gautam nahi jo apne scooter ko chalu karne ke liye bhi 2 glass doodh peeta hai." Rey giggled on her childishness.
"But tumhare mom dad.."
"Vo thoda naraz honge par baad mein maan jayenge. Aakhir mere mummy-papa hai." She gave him a wide smile. "Achha, ab mein chalti ho." She was about to jump towards the other side.
"Ruko! Par tum jaogi kaha??" Rey asked getting concerned for this completely mad girl.
"Kahi bhi.." She said least worried.
"Par aise..akele...its not safe."
"Mumma! Taani apne room mein nahi hai." Sharon whispered in her mother's ear. Mrs. Shekhawat came straight to her husband and took him in personel. Soon the news spread like a fire. Swayam and the boys became aware of the situation. They decided to inform Rey as there were big chances that they might get caught.
While Rey was explaining her not to go alone his cell ringed indicating swayam's call.
"Hello Swayam, mein tujhse baad mein baat karta hu yaar." He was about to put down the call.
"Rey listen, dulhan bhaag gayi hai!" Rey became shocked as the news was out. "Sab usse dhoond rahe hai."
"Swayam, tum log yaha se jao, I'll call you later." And with that Rey shrugged the call not allowing him to say more.
"Listen, tumhari family ko pata chal chuka hai. Please neeche aa jao."
"No way! Mein jaa rahi ho." She was about to jump.
"Stop!" His voice stopped her."Fine! Tum bhagna chahti ho na! Mein bhi saath chalunga."
"Aap kyun chaloge?"
"Mein..Mein bas chalunga. That's final." He climbed the wall in an instant and then took her hand in his jumping towards the road.
They were running without any particular direction.
"Mein thak gayi." She said finally telling him to stop.
"Itni jaldi! Tum to bhagna chahti thi na." Rey smirked at her. Taani gave him a 'I'll show you' look. "Ab chalo varna tumhari family humein pakad legi."
Much to their wish, after running about a few kilometres they found a bus stand where a lonely bus was standing. Without wasting a minute taani entered it while Rey tried to stop her.
"Ye to khaali hai." Taani said.
"Thank god!" Rey relaxed as they were saved from getting caught.
"Kaun hai vaha!!" A voice came from the backmost seat of the car and a guy emerged out of the blue. Taani and Rey looked at each other with a caught look.
"To tum dono ko yaha rukne ke liye jagah chahiye!" The guy asked. They nodded.
"Kal subah ye bus tour ke liye niklegi, tab tak tum dono yaha ruk sakte ho, par badle mein..." He was eyeing taani's heavy jeweleries. Rey noticed and tried to divert his attention. He removed his watch and forwarded it to him.
"15000 ki hai. Hum bas aaj raat rukenge." Rey said. He nodded and left them on their own to continue his sleep.
"Thank you!" Taani said as they were getting comfortable on their benches.
"Its ok." He gave her a smile.
"Par iska matlab ye nahi hai ki mein akele manage nahi kar pati."
"Bilkul..Bilkul.." He giggled on her remarks as she tried to prove that she was a strong independent women.
"Waise ek baat puchu?" She asked. He nodded.
"Aapka naam kya hai?" As she said that he started laughing hard while she followed him. They looked at each other. Two complete strangers but still they had guts to take such a big decision together. Was it just their destiny or something else that led them there.
"Oops! In all this, Intro to hua hi nahi. Hi I am reyaansh singhania. They call me rey." He extended his hand. Taani quicly shake her hand with his.
"Taani Shekhwat." He gave her a smile.
"Par ab hum jayenge kaha?" Taani asked. Before he could answer they heard the voice from their behind.
"Ladakh." The voice said
