A/N: A tentative venture into the lives of the ever-squabbling couple, this fic is a light-hearted and [hopefully] humorous thingamajig. Enjoy!
How the hell did I end up here?
It had been idyllic, in theory: sitting under the sprawling branches of the Banyan tree, hidden in the shadows of the approaching nightfall. The canopy of the Moon and stars had been above him, their brilliance peeping free in the absence of the harsh city lights. A breeze, fresh and crisp, had been ruffling his hair and cooling his brow. Resting in the open air seemed idyllic, indeed.
Reality, however, was anything but. The seemingly majestic tree was infested with pests constantly buzzing around his ears. Swatting at them was no help.
Pesky creatures! Gah!
The deceptively cool breeze carried with it the stench of dung, scattered (almost strategically, he grumbled) across the maze of dirt paths.
Above all, Randhir Singh Shekhawat was extremely hungry.
Scarfing down biscuits and whipping his arms around, like a mad man, against the blood-sucking mini-vampires, he cursed his stupid fate, the stupid Dream Team, the stupid village, that stupid Sanyukta--
Jolting out of his petulant thoughts, Randhir blinked. Then he blinked again. He rubbed his eyes vigorously and then blinked once again for good measure.
What in the bloody fu--
"Could you stop ogling me, you twit, and take the damned plate already?"
Sanyukta Agarwal, Saviour of all-things-pathetic, Annoyance Extraordinaire, a chit of a girl with a holier-than-thou persona, his adversary, nemesis, arch-enemy--Sanyukta Agarwal was standing in front of him, a plate of (delicious, by the smell of it) food in her hands and a scowl etched onto her face.

Sanyukta Agarwal was extremely annoyed.
Finding a place to live in had been tiresome (her aching limbs were proof enough), and it seemed like a stroke of luck to have come across such a kind lady as Lila Aunty. A roof to sleep under, water to quench their thirst, food to squash the hunger pangs--they truly were fortunate.
But in all her self-glory, Sanyukta couldn't help but notice the absence of one. The one who had been lazing under a tree (of all places!) without the comforts of Lila Aunty's home. Bigoted, arrogant and infuriating he may be, but Randhir was still a part of the team, and those bothersome morals of her wouldn't let her forget it.
So, it was with great reluctance that she found herself standing in front of him with a plate of food (what a waste). And being ogled at, if she may add.
Effing MCP...
Sending him a withering glance, the heavy plate tentatively balanced in one hand, she pushed aside his legs from the platform to make space for herself.
Why am I doing this again?
"What are you doing here?"
Celebrating my birthday. Idiot.
"What does it look like I'm doing? I brought food!"
Shoving the (bloody overweight) plate at him, she shot him a smirk.
"Eat. C'mon, you can do it. Just move your jaw up and down."
Snickering at her joke and his glare, Sanyukta felt pleased--her conscience was sated, and her obligation towards those of lesser intelligence fulfilled. A job well done, even if she said so herself.
"Stop staring off into space like that, you man woman. Seriously, those creepy smiles make me shudder. A little cuckoo, aren't you?
Snapping out of her bout of self-admiration, she turned to shoot a scathing look at him, all remnants of satisfaction banished from her mind.
Such a prick!

To Be Continued.
A/N: A teaser to what I hope to dabble in. Exams, being a pain in the nether regions, might hinder the frequency of the update. For now. Hope to end it after March! Reviews, though, shall be appreciated immensely. Thank you for reading! :D
