"its okay rey, i trust you" she placed her hand on his and met his eye, warming to the love in his eyes.

Mobile rang again breaking the eyelock and by the time taani took her hand back and picked it up, it stopped and message beeped. She saw the message and smiled and started replying while rey began to eat. She finished, got a reply and replied back again still smiling. Rey kept looking at her, she finished and looked up to see rey giving her a questioning look

"wo XXX the, just to find out ki main teek hoon ya nahin" she said casually , rey s appetite disappeared , she continued," aapne yeh nahin liya? " and served him and herself," aap hungry the na?"

"ya, mujhe tho kisine lunch nahin khilaya" he snapped

She stopped midway of putting a piece of roti into her mouth surprised and said guiltily," sorry rey. I know ki aap ko maine kuch zyaada hi ignore kiya morning se, pata nahi kyun i was ..."

His irritation gone," hey maine tumhaare baare mein nahin kahaan"

"tho phir ?" she asked eating

He stared at her and felt silly about his jealousy. Smiling at her," forget it, kuch aur baat karthe hain. tum batao, hows the new place? Course sab? Looks like ki tum yahaaan jaldi hi adjust hogayi ho"

"been okay , mujhe laga nahin tha ki main aisi course ko itna enjoy karoongi" and went on about what she had been doing the past months

dinner over and they had cleared up everything by the time she finished.

"and many friends bhi? " rey said cutting her excited explanation of something. her excitement vanished in an instant and she shook her head ," not really. Abhi jab fest ke liye kaam karne lagi tho XXX ke wajah se kuch log mujhe jaanthe hain bas. Waise bhi pata nahin kyun rey mere zyaada friends nahin banthe"

"so what wo tumhaara nature hoga, swayam s like that " taani picked up a bottle of water and started talking with the bottle in her hand moving here and there.

"haan par XXX , wo bohot sweet hain, he s really cool . pata hain sirf unki wajah se yeh saare fest etc., ke kaam itne perfect tha , aur wo kisise rudely bhi baat nahin karte. pata hain mera aur unka course same hain , so what i missed yahaan aane se pehle un sab mein help ki, matlab he s helpful sirf mereliye nahin sab.."

"TAANI" rey had been trying bto cut her monologue ," listen " and called out to her loudly, she stopped," tumse kisine kahaan nahin? Ek basic rule hain" she looked surprised and asked what with the bottle. He pulled the bottle from her hands, took a sip and continued," yeh ki tum apne boyfriend ke saamne kisi aur ko praise nahin karsakthi...karna nahin chahiye.get it?"

Taani looked like she didnt know what to say for a sec, felt her cheeks turn pink and not looking at him said,"jo hain wo hain"

"aur wo kya hain?"

"ki XXX bohot sweet hain " rey looked irritated, she suppressed a smile and the blush on her face still present continued ," aur yeh ki aap mere boyfriend nahin ho" this time without any anger , sadness or bitterness -just a statement

"i know, i forgot" he ran his hands in his hair talking semi seriously,"main tho ...kya tha wo..haan tumhare bhai ka best friend hoon right?"

She looked up at him , nodded and catching his naughty look smiled involuntarily , he grinned ," really taani bhai ka best friend?" she looked left and right and then at him controlling her smile , nodded again

He grinned more broadly and took both her hands in his,"really just that?" her cheeks were red by this time and she couldn't meet his eyes, she looked down at her hands in his which he was stroking softly and nodded with a laugh. He moved closer to her ,"sure ki aur kuch nahin?" his voice soft

He held her hands in his and brought them up to chest level, holding them tight and said," i love you" brought her hands to his lips and kissed them. taani finally stopped fidgeting and looked , meeting his eyes , taking in his love, his earnestness and his pain.she couldn't look away , she couldn't resist the power he had over her feelings , she couldn't speak. He lifted her chin up and as they stared at each other, taani felt all her misgivings melt under his affectionate gaze. She pull her hands from his and tried to move but found herself locked between him and the kitchen slab.

"i cant tell you anything jo humne pehle baat nahin ki hain, i know that, but i cant stop myself. Maine sach mein koshish ki hain taani, promise . par i just come back to you ...kya hum.." he shook her slightly as he spoke and waited expectantly

She pushed him a little away though he still held her hands in his tightly and said frustratedly," rey , its not so easy now. mera course yahaan hain, mera college yahaan hain aur main wapas nahin jaasakthi" he felt more hopeful.she was speaking of the difficulty in continuing a relation

"aur tumhe jaana bhi nhain chahiye. long distance..." she cut short his sentence

"oh please rey, saamne rehthe hamare beech itne misunderstandings hui thi aur door door tho... Hum dono ki worlds ab bohot different hain.."

"hum dono ki world ek doosre ke saath hain " he interrupted.

"darr lagtha hain rey.. phir se .." she replied softly still looking at him

" itna scared kyun ho? i said im sorry... taani, kuch bhi complete nhain lagtha jab tak tum nahin hoti... And i know ki tum bhi yehi feel karthi ho. shayad mujhse kahin zyaada ..." her eyes became moist, he squeezed her hands again and moved closer to her, " just trust me taani, ek aur baar and i promise ki aisa phir se nahin hoga"

he could feel her resolve soften ...
