His ice queen had won the show. He was not exactly ecstatic for he, himself wanted to win the show. But he was at peace with her win. She deserved to win for her indomitable courage and unfailing strength in the face of constant adversities. He had won an award as well. The award for the best Dancing Jodi of DID. His peers had ridiculed it, called it an ordinary acknowledgement. Something akin to a consolation prize. But the worth of the award not really mattered. The thing that endeared the award to him was the names engraved in bronze at its base.

It was the first time his name had been considered worthy enough to be placed beside hers.

So many stars had appeared on the horizon with the help of reality shows. Some stayed to shine permanently but more often than not, they faded once the high was over. He feared that would be the case with him as well. So he had to have been lady luck's favorite child the day D3 was offered to him. It was a blessing; he had no doubt about that. D3 alleviated his fears of disappearing.

The smell of fresh paint and hustle bustle dominated the scene at the workshops of D3. However, she was the first thing he noticed. It never ceased to wonder him how his eyes always picked her up in a crowd. She was sitting in a corner aloof as usual, remote as Pluto, concentrated eyes taking in the whole room. And then they landed on him. They widened a fraction and her face broadened into a breathtaking smile. A smile so genuine in its origin it made his breath hitch in his throat. The only thought running through his mind was "I get to see her everyday".

He never really thought acting would be his calling in life. But he fell in love with it the first day of the shoot itself or perhaps when they told him that she would be the one cast opposite him. Acting came easily to him. Acting meant letting go. Just like dancing where he allows himself to fly, acting gave him free reign to show his emotions; to let his heart fly. Acting meant abandoning that carefully maintained nonchalant mask that he adopted religiously in front of her. While he was Reyansh, he did not have to fear. He could finally let his emotions show on his face without the fear of her panicking. He could finally convey to her how she dazed him by just being herself.

Then came the interviews which were a totally different ballgame altogether. Interviews with her were often like walking on a tightrope. Careful not to let his heart show on his face and acting the part of the "best friend" to the T. but yet there were times she had caught him off guard. Moments like these were when the mask slipped. Moments like these were when he blurted out heartfelt compliments full of childish wonder. But then he had the perfect scapegoat for these moments. He had always blamed his "weird" behavior on Reyansh. He explained it was his character talking, that he had slipped into the skin of his character. Yes, Reyansh was the perfect scapegoat. Only if she knew there were never two different people and characters to begin with. But she didn't, and that is how it will always be.
