Kalyaani raagam happens to be one of my favourite raagas. Whether it is a simple geetham or a complex keerthana, it uplifts my mood.
I loved your potrayal of Mr. Iyer. His over concern and care for Khushi who is akin to his daughter, the stress he lays on rahu kala while venturing out and of course the Seetha Kalyanam (which will be altered to Khushi Kalyanam Vaibogame at the time of her marriage).
Each match is preordained and written, we as mortals cannot alter it. Lovely depiction through a one shot.
PS- Since this part is on auspiciousness, the current month happens to be the month of Margazhi, wherein a saint named Aandal took up a varad to attain the lord, who married her on the last day. To this day, Women sing thiripavai's in praise of her. People are encouraged to sing classical music during Margazhi. The raga series is in sync with the mood of the month. 😊

Khushi is a connoisseur of vegetables. Arnav is a connoisseur of women ☺️ It had to be a match made in mandi. 😃

She has dreams of making him eat good food. He has fantasies of using food to some private use 😳

Such a naughty one shot 👍🏼

PS- Ironic, Banke's concoction will restore your health while he is no hygienic person himself!!

Brilliant concept! I am in love with your writing and the way you have executed this idea... OS's are a great way to develop a beautiful relationship between Arnav and Khushi... but yours have created much more... they are moments... they are stories... they are characters that make you fall in love with them.

I do not know much about Ragas or Indian classical music... [I should hide my face]... but the way you have explained the meaning of each one at the beginning and a story to follow it, has reinforced it's importance to me. Now I shall remember these Ragas for a while and I am looking forward to much more.

Once again... I want to say that I love your writing style... It makes it easy to imagine the situation or the environment. I loved Malhar Raga the best... It left me feeling all gooey and mushy... and craving for the monsoon... which is so far away!! 😊

Khamas:
Beautiful one shot, strikes a chord as you dealt with a sensitive topic. Society surely isn't kind to some who aren't as privileged as the others. Yet Music has no boundaries and makes no distinctions. Even in the state of silence, there exists music.
Khamas ragam swarajathi brings sweet memories about the time I learnt the dance item for it. Goes without mentioning that i enjoy the ragam.
And Now I need to express a special thanks for this line
"All those discussions about neurotic behaviour, psychoanalysis, rampaging hormones makes me so focussed, so hard..."
Saiyu (smiles evilly and rubs her palms together), here we get even girl. This one is for all the times I struggled to concentrate while learning the Sollow model, Hicks and s**tsky's curves after you so conveniently made fun of them.

This thread is one of those rare gems we find on IF, and are lucky enough to read.
Love the stories and will be ever grateful to Twiggy and Meera.

And the song collection is beautiful.
Love old melodious songs and the ones posted here are lovely.

Arnav and Khushi had to meet in a vegetable mandi!
Just the right kind of place for a romantic rendezvous.
Madhu bua and Mami bevome friends.
The two together must be fun to watch.

And Bankey lal.
His heart must be broken in million pieces.
Hope he has the remedy for a broken heart in his pharmacie.

Thank you!
And yes I did relate Khushi to Raag Hamsadhvani. Its bright and delightful 😃

Loved the tale of the match made in mandi. The veg-y and colourful combination of ASR's charm and Khushi's effervescence made more potent by Bakeji's kadha :P

Lovely!
