~Chapter 11 - Jealousy~

"I'll just come" Arnav got up and went downstairs to the kitchen.

"Why are my cheeks burning?" Khushi asked herself, touching her cheeks from time to time.

"Am I blushing?" She again asked herself.

"But why am I blushing?"

"He is my best friend only!"

"But best friends don't k..kiss each other!"

"Why did Aakash gave me such a dare?!"

"Khushi?"

her thoughts were made to come to a halt when a voice called for her.

The glass, which she was holding in her hand to drink water, fell with a crash on the floor, the water wetting the whole area.

"Careful!"

came the same voice and Khushi turned around.

"Arnav?" Khushi asked and turned her back towards him again.

'Why am I not able to face him?' she thought.

"Khushi, look at me yaar. See there's nothing to feel bad about. We're friends and nothing can ever change that. And if you are feeling awkward about that k--kiss, then you don't need to. It was just a game in which you passed a dare!" Arnav explained Khushi, passing her a bright smile.

"Ya its okay.. But.. I mean.."

"Its OKAY yaar" saying that Arnav stepped forward and took her in a hug.

Khushi hugged him back, still feeling a bit awkward.

"What's wrong with you yaar?" Arnav asked, a concern forming on his face, when he felt her hugging him tightly.

She immediately parted from him and stood at a gap with him.

"Nothing Arnav" she started, "Are you upset with me?"

"No Candy! Why would I be upset with you?"

"You said me to skip the dare but I was being too stubborn.. So I did that.. I don't want you be angry or annoyed on me"

"No baby.. Its okay.. Kabhi kabhi chalta hai.. And of'course you are not going to kiss me everyday"

"Shut up!" and she playfully punched him on his chest and stepped aside arranging four glasses in a tray.

"By the way Khushi.. It was my first kiss" Arnav said, biting his lip, forcing blood to rise to his cheeks.

Her already flushed cheeks acquired a deep crimson colour, listening to his statement.

"Actually.. Mine also!" Khushi blushed, and looked down.

"You look beautiful while blushing" he complimented her.

"Are we a couple?" she asked, realising how their conversation was making its way.

"Of course not. But seriously. You look really beautiful with that blush."

"You must go and compliment your girlfriend. Not me!"

"But I don't have any"

"That's not my problem. I just want you to stop complimenting me."

"OK yaar.. Tu bhi dekh liyo.. Jab main kisi aur ladki ki tareef karunga na, tab tu hi jalegi"

(OK yaar.. You'll see.. When I'll compliment some other girl, you'll be the one who'll be jealous)

"Jalungi? Aur main?" (Jealous? And me?) Khushi asked, with utter confidence.

"Yes you!"

"We'll see. But now are you coming with me upstairs or remain standing here?" Khushi said and picked up the tray with soft drinks and moved outside the kitchen.

"Ya ya I'm coming"

"Aakash. See we've all served our turns in our games. So lets leave tossing the bottle and you yourself tell - Truth or Dare?" Arnav asked, smirking of thinking his revengeful plan.

"Truth"

"OK. Will you be completely truthful?"

"Obviously"

"So.. You are playing a dirty game with Payal. Aren't you?"

Payal choked while drinking the soft drink.

"Aakash?" she asked in a teary tone.

"No baby... What the hell are you talking about Arnav?" Aakash scowled.

"Why Aakash? You only told me this."

Khushi was trying hard to control her laughter. Their plan was working really well!

"Aakash?" Payal again called for him, in a more-teary voice.

"Oho Payal.. There are just kidding. Why are you taking it so seriously" Aakash tried to comfort her.

"Why will we joke Aakash? That too on such a serious matter?" Khushi made a fake stern expression.

"Yeah Aakash. Khushi is right! Now come on tell us the truth." Arnav said, making Aakash let out an irritated moan.

"They both are liars!" Aakash angrily said and got up to leave, just when Khushi caught hold of his hand and burst into laughter, followed by Arnav.

"Arnav?" Aakash looked at both of them in confusion.

"You made us embarrass, so we made you angry" Khushi squealed, hi-fying Arnav.

And they four shared a great laugh!

The next day was Sunday. The breakfast was made by Chef Arnav, and lunch also, though he made it after being emotionally blackmailed by Khushi, and now they both were sitting in Arnav's room, with Khushi sleeping cozily on his bed and Arnav playing Candy Crush on his iPad.

Suddenly, he cleared a level which he had been trying for about 6 times, and shouted in glee; which made Khushi got up with a start.

"What are you doing Arnav?''

"I just completed this level Khushi!"

"So why are you shouting... I'm sleeping yaar.." she said in a sleepy tone and again covered her face with the blanket.

"Yeh kitna mushkil level tha! Tu kabhi meri khushi mein khush kyu nahi hoti?"

(This level was too hard! Why don't you get happy seeing me happy?)

On getting no reply from her on his dramatic statement, Arnav caught hold of her blanket and flung it away from her body, in a flash; which made Khushi gasp in shock. Quickly, Arnav caught hold of her hand, which was lifted by her to hit him, and started to tickle her stomach area. Soon, the room was filled with chuckles of both, increasing with every second.

"Arnav Stop! Please Arnav" Khushi screamed, not able to control her laughter, due to the havoc caused by Arnav's fingers on her stomach.

"First tell me that I'm Awesome" he demanded.

"Ya ya Arnav.. You are awesomely awesome! But please stop this tickling!" Khushi said, laughing her heart out. She doesn't even remember if someone had ever tickled her like that!

"Good Girl!" Arnav said and backed off, leaving a still-laughing Khushi on the bed.

He had never had this kind of fun in his life! Tickling someone and making them laugh like lunatics would be a task of SO much fun - he never knew!

The next day.

"Arnav.. You are taking too much time to get ready!" Khushi irritatedly exclaimed, banging Arnav's room door vigorously.

"Coming yaar"

"Hurry up!"

"Ya ya Candy"

As soon as Arnav came out, he felt himself being dragged downstairs to the dining area.

Ira served them the breakfast, which they ate hurriedly and ran out of the house for the college, not before giving a thank you kiss on Ira's cheek. Arnav had learnt this habit from, none other than, Khushi..!

"Why are you so excited to go to college?" Arnav asked her curiously, while kicking-start his bike, wondering the reason for her all-of-a-sudden excitement.

"Nothing special. But seriously, today I have a feeling that something will happen which will be absolutely unpredictable"

"Ohk! Lets see"

They reached the college, and Khushi immediately ran up to Payal and Aakash, breaking their lovy-dovy conversation. Arnav too walked up to them, finding Aakash teasing Khushi of the last-to-last night's kiss.

"Shut up Aakash! First remember how much you became angry as well as embarrassed when we accused you of playing a game on Payal" Khushi exclaimed.

"I think we're getting late for the lecture" Aakash made a false excuse and rushed to the class. Arguing with Khushi was not less than banging your head against the wall!

Arnav too walked behind Khushi and Payal, but he seemed to be lost somewhere, an expression of confusion clearly evident from his face. 'I have seen her somewhere' he mumbled.

"Who Arnav?"

Khushi question made him snap up his head.

"Who you have seen somewhere?"

"Yeah that.. that..'' he started, turning back his head pointing somewhere, "Nothing Candy.. You hurry to the class. I'll be back in a minute"

Khushi looked at his retreating back, and was really confused at his behavior. 'Who has he seen?' she thought.

She brushed away her thoughts, and entered the class.

Arnav stood behind a tree and looked at a girl, relaxing while sitting on a bench in the garden. 'She is-- Why can't I remember her name?' he thought.

Just then he felt a tap on his shoulder and he jumped out of his tracks.

"Khushi! Tumne mujhe dara diya"

(Khushi! You scared me)

"What is wrong Arnav? Why are you standing here?"

"See that girl.. She was with me in 11th standard. I liked her at that time, but never got a chance to tell her this. Now she's here. So should I tell her?"

Arnav pointed towards a girl, and asked Khushi.

"Oh.. What's her name?"

"I think its Alia"

"Alia.. Nice name"

"Nice na! When you'll see her, you'll find her to be really beautiful.. I can't even believe I and she are in same college now"

Khushi - for some unknown reason - didn't feel comfortable while Arnav told her this.

Her smile had faded away. And all of a sudden a weird feeling of possessiveness overtook her. She got reminded of her own words 'today I have a feeling that something will be absolutely unpredictable' ... This was really unpredictable.

He is her best friend. Still do we name this feeling of possessiveness as JEALOUSY?

That was the 11th chapter. This chapter welcomes a new entry into the story, named Alia. Of'course it is not Alia Bhatt😆, but I liked this name very much. She will play a very integral part in the story. Do let me know about your views about this update.
