Sorry Jen, for the late comment, but the weekend was crazy.
This is how I wanted this to end.
You tied all the loose ends.
Khushi and Arnab have come a long way.
She has grown up and become a wife and later a mother.
Loved the closeness they share and how their relationship developed.

And then how Arnab made up with his father.
The birth of the little one and the immense pleasure ths event gave to the elders in the family.
And the gradual changes in the political scene.
Your knowledge of Indian history is amazing.
And I feel nobody writes historicals better than you.

Happy Diwali!

"Aparna?, he whispered steeling his heart to hear the worst kind of news about Arnab... there's no doubt that he loves his son... ego and a lack of communication on both sides is what to led to the estrangement between father and son. Her heart went out to her husband as she noticed the faint, almost imperceptible trembling of the sheet of paper as he tried to read it as fast as possible. "Arnab is fine...he is safe..." Her immediate reassurance to allay her husband's fears is touching. Arnab's letter comes straight from the heart... his acknowledgement of his love for his parents and, particularly, his assurance to his father that he didn't break his trust are moving. His P.S. about his Thammi and Pranab bring a lump to one's throat. Like his parents, we too hope the family could be reunited soon. The fact that Khushi is with him would act as a soothing balm as it is a reassurance that their son is not all alone, that there is someone to share his burden. This caused fresh tears to well in her eyes too and then silently, naturally and quite unexpectedly, they joined in an embrace, seeking comfort and solace from each other, joined together by their mutual love for their son... poignant yet heart-warming! You were the one who taught me the essence of being a woman, a wife and I just knew in my heart of hearts that you would have wanted me to go with him... beautiful! Jenny, the emotional parts come very naturally to you, or so it seems. Khushi enjoying the sight of her handsome husband, the underlying tenderness in the picture brings a smile to one's face. Jenny, you have a knack for bringing to life, in a line or two, the inter-personal relationships: A little bit of attention, undivided attention and a few reassuring words... the need of every human being, especially the elderly! Arnab and Khushi's convo about the day each had is realistically done... Khushi's childlike enthusiasm and Arnab's comment about indulging the child inside one, once in a while are endearing. The description of their lovemaking is sensuous and sublime, because of the strength of their love. The reunion in Benares was poignant, especially the one between father and son with its hesitation and awkwardness followed by his father's words of trust! As they argued good naturedly about whom Arjun resembled the most... that seems to be a prerequisite to being a doting grandparent! "All that I will even need, I can see in your eyes...," her heart spoke silently and Arnab's replying smile told her that he had heard her... beautiful! That newspaper excerpt, with its note of hope, is an apt way to conclude this amazing story!

That was so BEAUTIFUL Jen. The joy and simplicity of this story had me in tears. I LOVED this story. I have to say, as an author you have done total justice to the concept and the love story. I think you are one of the few authors who can boast about writing a historical romance and totally justify it. Its not only about getting the facts right, but also capturing the essence of the era as well as keeping the readers spell bound with the narration and plot. You have done that beautifully. I guess its an outcome of your talent, interest in Indian history and your Dad's library.

You are an AMAZING author Jen. And I am a fan :)
