You know Jenny some stories leave a lasting impression on your mind, this was one of them... Especially the epilogue was absolutely mind-blowing... I just loved the way you gave closure to all the loose ends in the story so beautifully & endearingly in the epilogue... I let out a long sigh of satisfaction after reading the end... A part of me never wanted the epilogue to end, I just want to keep on reading about their lives for ever more... Sigh! it is over, I know :( Will miss it so much...
The journey of little Khushi, twelve years old, married to a man more than twice her age at that time walking in completely soaked in rain, clutching a doll in her hand... Ah! this scene is completely etched in my mind... From that, how she blossomed into a beautiful, gorgeous woman, completely enthralling her husband in her beauty & being the woman he needed in his life by refusing to part with him again, to care for him, to be with him as his true partner in every sense of the word...
I just loved the little scene of domesticity you wove there... Khushi waiting for her husband to return from the clinic & have his steaming cup of tea ready for him everyday, ah so cute... How Khushi looked on lovingly as her husband enjoyed partaking the food that she had so lovingly prepared for him... Pure bliss... You're right, nothing gives you as much pleasure as that... Arnav's impatience & insatiable appetite for his delightful & delectable wife, just beautiful... Poor guy, had to wait a long time for what he was so rightfully enjoying now... His refusal to steal her innocence from her had to be the most endearing part of this story... This just proves yet again, that the fruit of patience is always sweet.
I am so glad you incorporated that "Ogo shunchho" into the story like that, it added such an authentic touch to the whole story, not that you've faltered anywhere, your research & knowledge is very, very impressive...
The heart warming letters that Arnab & Khushi wrote to their parents were so touching... It is true that we take our relationships in life for granted... It is only when we lose them that we begin to cherish their true worth... Same was the case for both Arnab & Subroto, but was so glad to see them repair their relationship like that & Subroto readily accepting Arnab's innocence...
Their reunion in Benares was heart warming to see mother & son embrace each other after so long...And Arnab burying his head in his Thammi's lap like that was so endearing... And Arnab conveying Khushi's pregnancy to his family was so cute... Poor people after all the heart ache they have been through, they surely needed something to look forward to...
Loved the little glimpse into Arnab & Khushi's "chhoti si duniya"... Arjun added a perfect touch to their already happy & contented world... If only the whole family could live united like this for all times... But was so glad to see that Thammi got to see her great grandson and sing a lullaby to him...
Arnab's reminiscences of Khushi's presence in his life over the past 8 years just added a lovely touch to an already lovely story... And the last newspaper clip did promise of hope, one must never lose hope... So glad you ended with that...
