The Truth
Angad left the party early saying that he had some business to attend. But everyone knew that wasn't true, everyone knew Angad Khanna didn't attend functions, especially weddings. Everyone except Kripa. The party was nearing an end, and Kripa was walking to her car, draped in her shawl, and warming her arms by rubbing her hands on them. Out from behind and shadow came and Kripa stopped on her feet. "It's okay, it's just me," said Raj as he drew his hand around her shoulders. "Oh hey," said Kripa as her heart beat decreased. "So how was it meeting all your old friends, if that's what they're still called," Raj said and he fixed Kripa's shawl. Kripa moved her fingers through her soft curled hair and tied it up in a messy bun. "It was okay. Awkward but okay. Except meeting Angad, ugh the nerve of that man," she said with a certain disgust in her voice. Raj laughed a little and moved his hands into his pocket. "So your still holding a grudge over him? I mean, didn't he get his due after all that happened?" Raj tried to explain with pity in his voice. "What are you talking about? He got everything he ever wanted…in the expense of the happiness of others of course," said Kripa rolling her eye's.
Raj stopped midway and looked at Kripa in shock. Please tell me your kidding. Don't you know what happened?" asked Raj. "What? Did Vedika really leave him?" Kripa asked back with no sympathy what so ever. Raj held Kripa's arm and pulled her to the side of the parking lot. "Kripa, Vedika died three years ago," he said. Time had just stopped for Kripa. It took a minute to actually register what Raj just said, and another minute for Kripa to show reaction. No matter what, Vedika was Kripa's friend…Angad was Kripa's friend. How could this have happened? "How?" was the only word that came out of Kripa's mouth as her eye's became red. "It was horrible man, they were so happy. I mean, they were really happy. Their lives were perfect, they weren't too rich…but who needs money when you have love right?" Raj became silent for a while and looked at Kripa who had her head down. "What happened to her?" Kripa whispered. "Vedika's parents were both murdered, and they killed her too. It's said to be an accident but we all know it was murder. They threw her car off a cliff, into the water. We didn't find her body either, were pretty sure the people who killed her took her body just in case she didn't die from the crash,". Kripa closed her eyes as she began crying. "Oh my God,".
"There's more. Not only Vedika, but…Angad and her daughter too. She was just two years old," said Raj with a tear in his eye's too. "Angad had a baby?" asked Kripa with tears in his eye's. "We're hoping he still does. A year ago, we got news that a women was found on the curves of Mexico, but there was no child. They said the woman was Vedika, but we think maybe Anamika…that's the kids name, we think she's still out there some place,". Kripa began walking again and went inside her car and broke down. "I cant believe it," she cried.
