CHAPTER-14.

"DON"T COME NEAR ME!"Astha snapped again,as they stood at her front door..Shlok let out an exasperated sigh and rang the bell.

"ASTHA!WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU?!"Kalindi exclaimed,as soon as soon as she opened the door.Her eyes taking in her daughter's disheveled and wet state,and then her eyes fell on the tall young man standing just behind Astha."And who is this?"She asked with a frown.

" No one!"Astha muttered to herself grumpily,as she angrily strode past her mother,and ran up the stairs to her bedroom.

The two remaining living beings in the hall stood staring at the departing angry back of Astha.One with an expression of bafflement,and the other with an expression of amusement.

BANG!

Finally both turned to look at each other,as they heard Astha's door banging closed.

"You..?"

"Namaste aunty.I'm Shlok Agnihotri.Astha works at my office.."Shlok said with a polite smile.

"Oh..Why don't you sit down beta?"Kalindi said with a smile of warm hospitality.

"No.It's okay aunty.I should be leaving now.I had taken Astha to the party with me,so wanted to ensure she entered her house safely.."

"Uh..Okay..But how did she get wet..?!"

"Well..Ummm..It was a slight accident..She slipped in the rain..So.."Shlok nearly colored up,remembering how exactly she had got so wet,along with him.That scorching kiss,had nearly burned..

"You also..?!"Asked a confused Kalindi.Taking in Shlok's wet look.

"Wo..Ummm..Wo actually aunty,I was helping her up,so.."Shlok was finding it hard to hide his embarrassment from the good lady.

"Oh.."

"Aunty..I'll take your leave now.."

Before Kalindi could protest Shlok had whirled round and left the house,and within seconds Kalindi heard a car driving away from the front porch.

"I just can't understand..Why Astha always keeps falling?!"Kalindi muttered to herself,as she closed the front door and let out a sigh of exasperation.

"I really hate that man!"Astha muttered to herself for the upteempth time angrily,as she dried her hair with a towel.

"I loathe him!Loathe him!LOATHE HIM!"

CRASH!

Breathing heavily,she stared down at the broken pieces of the glass she had just thrown onto the floor..

"Astha Kirloskar.."Shlok muttered with a naughty smile,as he drove on..

"What.. do I DO with you?"His mind flash backed those seconds of her in his arms..His lips tasting hers in the rain..And his heart raced..His body heating up with the memories even..And then his mind played her so evident,but illogical hatred towards him from the very first meeting..

"Astha Kirloskar..What do I do with you?You are getting more and more interesting.."Shlok muttered softly,his eyes gleaming with a strange light..

In a sparsely lit room,a man threw a dart arrow at a pinned up picture of Shlok with Astha in his arms..

"Shlok Agnihotri..Your days are now numbered..!"The man sneered out then gave a sinister laughter..His laughter echoing around the dark corners of the small room.

The next morning Astha hurried into her office,constantly looking at her watch.

"Oh no!I'm late again!I'll surely be dead today!"She muttered to herself.

"Bappa please save me this time!I promise I'll never be..No!Correction!I promise I'll TRY not to be late next time!Please Bappa!"Astha prayed to herself,as she stood in front of Sachin's office door.

She finally gathered up her courage and raised her hand to knock..

KNOCK!KNOCK!

"OUCH!"A man's voice muttered.

Just as she had started knocking,the door had opened,and she had knocked ,or to be precise,poked at someone's eye,who had suddenly opened the door.

"S..Sorry.."

"Are you planning to make people blind over here?!"Asked a familiar husky voice as he tried to massage his hurt eye.

Oh BAPPA!NOT HIM AGAIN!Astha thought to herself,her eyes rounding up,as she took in Shlok Agnihotri's six feet plus physique.

"What are you doing here?!Where is Sachin sir?!What did you do to him?!"Astha asked through clenched teeth,as she watched Shlok walk to the toilet to splash water into his burning eyes.

Without thinking,Astha banged the office door closed behind her,and angrily followed Shlok into the toilet.

She fumed as she watched Shlok splashing water into his eyes,and ignoring her presence.Her enraged mind,was not taking in his pain,or his inability and inconvenience to answer her question at that moment.

"I asked where is Sachin sir?!"She snapped out again.

No answer,but some more splashing of water..

"I asked-.."

CLICK!

Astha stopped in mid-sentence,as suddenly the toilet's door clicked shut behind her.

Instantly she whirled round,and turned the knob..She had to get out of the toilet,so she turned the knob forcefully..Once,twice,thrice..

"OH BAPPA!THIS DOOR ISN'T OPENING!"She nearly screamed out..
