So I read them all in one go. More than anything Aaravs pain is so hard to read. And yeah Chap 4 is my favourite too.
Its so sad to see Arnav neglecting his child over his obsession to find his wife. And Khushi! Shes never been a selfsih character so I cant see her leaving by choice. Its such a mystery.Ar first I assumed Sakshi was Khushi with memory loss - I can be filmy too. I doubt it but Im interested to see more.great story
yeah me too thought the same thing that sakshi was khushi with memory loss but when payal was talking to akash they were saying that khushi had written to this company ... so it was quite unlikely ... so this character is going to play quite a role i think 😉
Chapter 7: The world works in weird ways
Abhishek Kapur was Sakshi's right hand man. She met him in India many many years ago when he was working the floor of a prestigious clothing store. She was impressed with his diplomacy and customer service skills, and snapped him up. When she noticed his prowess with dealing with staff and clients, she sent him to college to get his MBA and made him her personal manager. Saakshi was always good at recognizing potential, and Abhi had been a stellar find.
He entered a cabin with a soft knock, to see her munching at her sandwich with an evil grin on her face. The only time she had that grin on her face was when she thought of her failures. In the many years he had worked with her, there was only one incident he knew of that she considered a failure. Oh ASR, he thought. The day Saakshi enters your life will be a tempestuous one for sure. Abhi grinned. He knew Saakshi as well as she knew herself, at-least where business was concerned, and he knew she was still smarting over the loss of the bridal collection from two years ago. He cleared his throat and watched as she came out of her stupor. "Uh, I have a call you may want to take," he said. She looked at him with a question on her face. Unable to stop himself, he grinned. "Aakash Singh Raizada." The grin transformed into a full guffaw as her jaw dropped open in total surprise. "That's funny, I was just, I mean, I think, but...oh shut it Abhi. Transfer the call." He continued laughing and left the cabin. She glared at his back and shook her head. "I was just thinking about it. Odd."
"Aakash Raizada, what a pleasant surprise." Aakash grinned as her cool voice transmitted across the airways. "Saakshi, long time. I think you're holding a grudge against me." "Of-course not Aakash. The grudge is against your pig-headed brother, not you." Aakash smothered a laugh, but gave in when he heard her chuckling. He laughed with her, knowing she was perfectly serious. She still held a grudge. He wasn't sure if it was a good thing or a bad thing. "So how's the A-master been doing back in the motherland," she joked with him. Aakash smiled. A-master. The clever name she gave him from their college days. Only Payal knew that Saakshi and Aakash had known each other from his UCLA days. Arnav being the over achiever he was, had gone to Harvard, but Aakash, being the more laid-back and demure one, went to UCLA in sunny California. There he had met Saakshi, who was the same age as him and in the same classes as him. He always wondered why they didn't fall in love, all the right ingredients were there was a smashing successful recipe. They were both young, attractive and from prestigious business families. But somehow, they just didn't. He wasn't even sure if they had been friends back then. Sure, they spent every waking moment together studying for exams and completing assignments when they were on campus. But the minute she stepped foot off campus, she was a different person, aloof and to herself. She didn't hang out with the other students, she didn't join the silly social clubs, she didn't engage in regular college behaviour. Aakash couldn't get through to her. So he let her be. At the end of the five year program, when they both graduated, they returned to their respective lives without a look back at each other. It was only years later when Aakash came back to the States with his wife, that they reconnected, but again, for business purposes. Aakash was trying to expand AR industries states-side and she was the biggest competition in their way. Thus them meeting was inevitable.
Meeting her again was a shock for Aakash. Here was the woman he once hoped would be interested in him, now the most successful business woman in the country. More shocking, was the warmth with which she received him. Considering that they had never been in touch since they graduated, he was surprised. But it wasn't really surprising if one really knew Saakshi. She had very few friends, didn't feel the need to make them, and had even less time to maintain the obligations that came with friendship. She was an in-the-moment kind of person. If you were in front of her, she gave you all the attention in the world, and when you were not, she gave that attention to someone else. She seemed, to most, to be cold, calculating and opportunistic. But Aakash learnt the second time around that she was also incredibly loyal, fair and unbiased. His silly crush matured into genuine admiration and respect for the strong woman that she was. He also learned that Saakshi, like his brother, didn't feel the need to prove her worth to the world. Those that she loved knew it. Those who loved her knew that they could count on her. And it was with that assurance that he had picked up the phone that day.
