Superb..!!! RAY OF SUNSHINE # 6

She opened her heavy eyelids and saw that she was being dragged through a corn field by two gigantic Mexicans. They looked vile. She tried to figure out where she was. She was hurting badly and leaving a streak of blood behind her. Every nerve ending was pounding and generating a shrill and deadening pain through her body. Tears of blood started dripping down on the ground -this was it. She had heard this happen to other captives. Once they were done with them, they would be taken to the top of a cliff, shot and thrown down into the valley. They wanted it clean and clear.

The men were talking in Spanish but she could understand some of there words.

"She is already dead man..."

"I am surprised she made it this long. She is one nasty bitch. Such a waste."

"Do you want to have a last go at her?"

"Nah man. Necrophilia isnt my thing and even if she is alive. She looks pathetic, too damaged man. I feel sorry for her."

"You feel sorry!!!!!!!!!! " they laughed loudly and disgustingly.

Manvi closed her eyes and tried her best to remain calm. Maybe, just maybe they will not shoot and her and maybe someone will find her. Maybe she can look at her family for one last time, she hoped. Every muscle in her body cried in desperation. She didnt know how long she could keep up the pain.

"Manvi, Manvi. Why arent you talking? Say something. Breatheee...baby...breathe"

"I HATE YOU VIRAT!!! I cant believe you are making me go through this." Manvi screamed at him, on the hospital bed. She was in labor and the doctor had asked her to relax and breathe and push. Everybody around where laughing looking the crazy couple in front of them. Virat was going nuts in tension.

He kissed her. "I love you baby. You can do this. A little harder. Doctor, is she is out yet???" he asked in panic.

"DOES IT LOOK LIKE SHE IS OUT YET??" Manvi yelled at him.

"Ohh Virat, I think I will die..." tears were rolling of her eyes and she was going red in pain. She was crushing Virat's finger bones into powder and yelping in pain."

"No sweetheart, you are NOT going to die. Doctor! Doctor do something. She is in pain!!!" he held the doctors apron and threatened him. "If you dont make it stop, I will sue you and this hospital. Make it go away!!!" Virat kept going on at the doctor.

"Virat!!! Virat!! If you hurt my doctor, I will kill you. LEAVE HIM ALONE. Mom, take this maniac out"

"No, I am not going anywhere.. " he went and sat beside her.

"It is going to be okay honey. This will pass. All this pain will go away and then you will hold our baby in your hands and kiss her. It is just a few more minutes. Look into my eyes. I love you..." she looked into his eyes. "Oh, I love you so much!!!" he held her and she relaxed. She gathered all her strength and pushed as hard as she could and they heard a sweet angelic voice in the air - of their diya, crying. Their whole world stopped still as the doctor passed them their bundle of joy to hold and cherish. She was the most beautiful baby in the whole wide world.

"She looks just like you." Virat whispered touching her pink cheeks. He looked at Manvi who was spellbound looking at her daughter; tears of joy were dripping down her cheek.

"Hi baby." She kissed her forehead, sighing. "Thanks for coming out of me!" she laughed.

Virat laughed too and they both kissed each other lovingly, welcoming the most special moment and person of both their lives.

"Toss her out here. It is safe..." one of the men said.

Back in New York, Diya was getting ticked off as Tanya had entered her little sweet world.

She had switched the whipped cream of the desert she made with sour cream, thrown an elastic lizard at her - making her scream like a mouse, applied glue on the chair she was sitting and finally pushed her into the swimming pool drenching her super expensive designer dress. Tanya had now figured out that it was all Diyas doing. But, she wasn't someone who would get knocked off because of a little resistance.

"Listen, you little weasel..Dont you for a second this that I dont know what you are upto here. I am going to become close to your dad, whether you like it or not. I am fully capable of making your life miserable then. I will make sure you wont see your beloved papa not more than two times an year! So, get this into your tiny head - You are either nice to me or you SUFFER. Now, I do not want to see you anywhere around until the end of the party. Shooo!! Run!"

Diya ran away scared.

"How dare you talk to her like that?" Vyshali had entered into the room from another door and was shocked to see this side of her friend. She was standing right behind Tanya and they were looking eye-to-eye, angrily.

"If this leaves the room, I am going to tell Virat that it was your plan to set me up with him." Tanya threatened her too.

"Wow! You really have no idea, do you? I wanted to see my brother happy, that is why I was trying to make him look for a partner. But, if I had known you are this kind of a witch, I would do anything to keep him away from you. You are going to keep your head down and leave the house without making a squeak. Is that understood?"

Tanya glared at her and left the room muttering curses.

Vyshali went out and saw Diya sitting beside Virat, holding his hand tightly. The fear in her face broke her heart. She didnt have the guts to tell Virat how colossally she had screwed up. Virat was right, it is not that simple to let a woman in his life. Sometimes, it is so true that no marriage is so much better than bad marriage.

Kiara came upto Diya and gave her a slimy green snake. "This would work so much better!! Where is Dracula anyways?" she laughed.

Virat looked at the both of them shocked. "Diya, do you have something to tell me?"

"No." she sat on his lap and hugged him tightly. "I want to go home."

Virat looked at Kiara threateningly for answers and she spilled about everything she and Diya had done since morning to bug Tanya.

"I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU BOTH! Diya, you are in big trouble. Get your stuff. We are going home." He put her on the ground.

"But papa, she was mean..."

"Not a word more. What has gotten into you since morning huh? Go, tell your goodbyes. We are leaving. You dont deserve a party and you dont deserve any goodies."

"But papa..."

He glared at her and she went inside hanging her head down. She felt like crying. She couldnt bear her papa being angry at her. But, she was somehow glad they were going home. Actually, later in the party, there were a lot of games organized and Kiara had told her about them. Some of the games had teams of the kids with their respective mothers. She didnt want to be a part of that.

"Dont be hard on her. There is more to the story. I will call you." Vyshali hugged Virat as they left.

That night at home. Diya was looking into the sky. She saw a shooting star. She remembered her mom tell her that, you could make a wish whenever she saw a shooting star and god would try his best to grant it to her.

So, she closed her eyes and made a wish. "Dear shooting star. If it is not too much to ask, could you please make my mom come back to me? Or take me and papa to her? Whichever way is convenient for you. Papa told me that momma is never coming back. If she cant, atleast keep her safe and happy, wherever she is. Tell her that Diya misses her very much and Diya's papa also misses her and we would want her back as soon as possible."

"Diya?" She heard her dad behind her. He was hurting. His sister had called him and told him about what Tanya did. He hugged her and kissed her head. "Honey, I am so sorry. I had no idea what happened. I will make sure you never see her again in your life..."

"Thats okay. I am pretty sure, she feels the same way. She wouldnt want to see me either." She shrugged.

Virat laughed shaking his head. "I am sorry I yelled at you sweetheart."

"Thats okay. I forgive you."

"Thank you." He smiled.

A few minutes later, while he was trying his luck, again, at meeting Diya's high expectations for reading her a story. His phone rang.

"Hello Mr.Vadhera. This is the US embasy in Mexico calling about Mrs. Manvi Vadhera."
