Part 17:
When I didn't receive any answer from Spiderman, I thought he was lost in thoughts and didn't hear me. Just when I was about to repeat, he spoke.
"Nanhi, I know I should have come home. But how can I turn away from my responsibilities. I am alive today because of ACP and Bala. It is my responsibility now that I help them in return. I cannot come back until I am freed from their debt."
Oh.. Spiderman and his principles! "Now I am also part of this debt. If not for ACP Sanghvi, I wouldn't have met you. So tell me how I can help complete your job soon and take you home."
Spiderman, Beera and I spent the rest of the day catching up on what was happening with him in the past 2 years. The next day morning, when ACP Sanghvi and Bala came, I asked them to share about their plans on Aai. Spiderman had already gathered all the required documents as proof. All that was left was for Aai to accept her activities.
ACP Sanghvi then revealed that he has asked Anu ma'am to send me for this part of his plan. They wanted me do sting operation on Aai and then arrest her based on it. But Spiderman refused to go by it as he knew Aai would kill any reporter found on her case, and didn't want me especially in this situation. So he decided to play an interior game to corner Aai. He told us the drama he would like to stage. Bala would be the key character. Hope Bala doesn't get hurt in this drama. To make sure everything goes fine, we rehearsed this play for a few days and tried all possible reactions of Aai to be sure about our moves.
On the D-day, I charged into Aai's house and cried holding her, "Aai, please save me. Bala is tying to kill me." Aai pulled me by my arm and asked, "What did you do that he is behind your life?"
I stammered, "I.. I... saw... him... killing..." Aai shouted at me, "Whom did he kill? your relative?" I cried, "No... yours." Aai was stunned, as expected. Good going, Nanhi!
"I... I.. was near a cliff with my friends... and I saw Bala.. running behind Vasu Bhau trying to catch up with him... When he caught hold of him, I saw them fighting and then.. and then..."
Aai was anxious, "And WHAT?" I wiped my tearful eyes with the back of my hand and continued, "I heard a gun shot and Bala was holding the gun."
Aai looked at me as if I was mad, "Girl, have you gone mad? It was the police who fired at Vasu. But my Vasu is very strong and he survived. Don't tell me such stories. If it had really happened why did you come after 2 years to tell me this? You could have come much before."
I answered, "I and my friends were frightened to witness the murder. So we left the city. Two weeks back I came into the city once again for a relative's marriage. He saw me on a street and warned me that I have to keep my mouth shut. If not, he would kill me as well."
Aai's bloodshot eyes gave her anger away. She summoned for Bala who came in running. I must say he did a good job and hope this will continue.
"Yes, Aai? You called for me?" Aai moved to reveal me to Bala. He was shocked and said, "You... Who is this girl, Aai?"
Aai asked Bala, "Where is my Vasu? This girl has told me everything. Before you kill her, I will kill you. Tell, where is my Vasu and why did you kill him?"
Bala stammered, "Aai, all this is lie.. Bhau, see what Aai is asking for? Aye, Bhau!!" Spiderman walked in, "Kya re, Bala! Why did you scream as if someone died!"
"Bhau, Aai is asking me where are you? Don't know what all this girl said! Aai is asking me why I killed you..." While Bala was explaining all this, Aai took Spiderman at gunpoint and asked, "Who are you? If you don't speak the truth, I will kill you. Don't you dare try to play games with me."
Oh no! We had expected she would take Bala at gun point. What will happen now?
Spiderman's life is filled with criminals - when one gets out, the next comes ready!
