Anshula Kapoor reserves seat for late mother Mona Shourie during intimate engagement, shares emotional tribute

Anshula Kapoor, daughter of producer Boney Kapoor and sister of actor Arjun Kapoor, has shared the first official photos from her engagement with Rohan Thakkar. The ceremony took place on October 2 at her father’s Bandra residence, with close family and friends from the Kapoor clan in attendance.

Two days after the intimate celebration, Anshula posted pictures from the traditional ‘Gor Dhana’ ceremony. The photos captured her with brother Arjun Kapoor, sisters Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor, and father Boney Kapoor. Sonam Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor, Shanaya Kapoor, Shikhar Pahariya, and Karan Boolani were also part of the family gathering.

One of the most heartfelt moments of the evening came through Anshula’s tribute to her late mother, Mona Shourie Kapoor. She honoured her memory by reserving a seat next to her, placing a framed photograph there. In her caption, Anshula wrote that she could feel her mother’s presence with her during the special occasion.

The pictures also showed Anshula sharing an emotional moment with Arjun Kapoor. Another frame captured Boney Kapoor blessing the couple, while candid images showed Anshula dancing with her father and celebrating with her sisters.

A group photo brought the Kapoor family together, with Sonam posing beside the couple, Janhvi with Shikhar Pahariya, and Shanaya, Jahaan, and Rhea joining in. The images reflected a close-knit gathering filled with laughter, blessings, and family warmth.

In her caption, Anshula expressed, “02/10/2025 This wasn’t just our Gor Dhana, it was love showing up in every little detail. Ro’s favourite words have always been ‘Always and Forever’ – and today, they started to feel real in the sweetest way.” She further added, “Ma’s love… quietly wrapping itself around us. In her flowers, in her words, in her seat, in the way her presence could still be felt everywhere.”

Anshula and Rohan reportedly met on a dating app in 2022. In July 2025, Rohan proposed to her in Central Park, New York. The couple is now formally engaged, with wedding plans expected to follow.
