LOVE PAIN AND ALCOHOL(SPL OS)

The gang was totally shattered at losing NDC. They were so close to their dream but destiny really took over them and their confidence. The walls of the rehearsal hall too were quiet and the whole aura too was gloomy. Each pair of eye raised a question that why did they lose in spite of being the best. Even after a week of the semi final results it was a tough job for all of them to accept the reality and move on.

All the members sat in the rehearsal hall sad and depressed. They didn't know whom should they blame for their misery. The NDC win could not just have gave a boost to their confidence but also to their careers.

Swayam: guys I am sorry hum log meri wajah se haar gaye.

Sharon: please swayam we are a team and whether we win or lose , it has to accepted equally by all so please stop blaming yourself.

Rey: ya dude Sharon is right we all know that you gave your best so now we all should forget it and make a new move towards our bright future.

The gang exchanged looks. Their heart sank but still they managed to smile and say a yes.

A peon came and knocked the door of the rehearsal hall.

Peon: aap sab ko VP sir ne bulaya hai abhi .

Rey : ok we will are coming.

Nil: sir ne kyun bulaya hoga ?

Aashi : kuch kaam types hoga !

Sharon : lets go guys there is no point standing here and guessing!

They all proceeded to VP's office. Somehow each step that they we were taking made them shiver in apprehension.

Rey:may we come in Sir !

VP sir and Taani both were standing in the cabin with their hands folded. The environment was a suspicious one, so it was difficult to calculate the agenda of the meeting.

Vp: come in guys.

Everyone entered with a deep breath to stop the nonstop thought process that was going on in their creative brains.

Vp: so guys as you all know that we lost in the semi finals of NDC (everyone drooped their heads down). No guys please look into my eyes I already told you that I am proud of you all. Swayam you have inspired me to great extent rather you all faced so many problems but never gave up.

But let it be that's the past let's forget it. I have called you all here as Taani and I have some news for you.

Everyone's depressed eyes had a tinge of excitement, their eye crystals covered the whole whitish part of their eyes while moving.

VP: taani I want you to tell the happy news to all of them.

Taani: sir with due respect you are our role model, you have done a lot for this college so only you have the right to announce it. (smiles)

Vp: ok (smiling)

So guys the news is that the NDC committee has sent us a letter apologizing (everyone's heart beat increased listening the word NDC). They have confessed that your performance was the best out of the lot but still they didn't give you a chance to be in the finals because of the senior judge of the panel (everyone had a smile on their faces). They have accepted that their results were skewed because of the personal rivalry of the judge with you people.

AND'''(he paused to see the gang's faces)

Their expression changed with every passing second; tension, worry, anxiety all these were evident on their faces.

VP: (smiling) AND guys they have changed the judges and invited us for the finals !!!!!

Everyone jumped in excitement. They hugged and congratulated each other like crazy. They danced and showed their happiness and joy. But Taani stood in the corner and smiled at her elated friends.

Vp: congratulations guys but still you haven't congratulated and thanked the real hero of this episode.

Rey: oh sorry Sir, thank you so much for this Sir.

All : yes sir thank you so much.

Vp: one minute guys as I said the real of the episode ?

That's not me that's Taani !!!!!!!!

Everyone looked at Taani with their mouth wide open.

VP: yes guys she alone went to talk to the NDC committee and she was the one who brought all this cheating under the eyes of the NDC chairperson who is well known for his integrity and honesty.

I must say (looking at Taani) she is the best GS the college can have.

What she did is a story of inspiration, even when you accepted your loss she being your representative was the one who stood their strong and erect so that the truth can come out.

Everyone had tears in their eyes. They all came forward and pulled Taani in a group hug.

But still someone stood at the back and just smiled.

Rey : (to himself) I am proud of you taani. You have proved yourself today, you have proved that you fully deserve to be the G S of this college.

I think my plan worked in your favor but I wish just like our friends I too could pull you in a cozy hug and express my love. (His eyes started getting wet but somehow he controlled the ongoing flow of emotions)

Swayam: I am proud of you Taani. And more than that I am happy for you, that you succeeded in setting up an example, for all the others on how to be an ideal GS.

He smiled though his eyes were wet but his soul danced at his sister's success. Sharon looked at the duo and her lips too parted way for a diabetic smile.

Neha: neha too thanking taani, because you giving our confidence back.

Nil: today I too wanna confess something taani'..

Bharat: abbey usna humari madad ki aur tu use gali de raha hai teri to !

All (in unison) : arey gali nahi hai wo Bharat.

And everyone smiled including VP sir.

He could not complete and Taani's eyes flooded with tears. The pain of her heart got reflected on her face.

Nil : I am sorry wo'.

Vp: are you fine Taani ?

Taani lost her senses, rey too was numb and he was just staring at Taani and reading that she was in pain.

Taani: yes Sir I am ok .(recollecting herself with great might)

Vp: ok so congratulations guys and today evening the college and the GS of the college (smiling) has organized a party for you all. So you all are invited.

All of them went to the rehearsal hall and shouted like hooligans expressing their ecstatic state of mind.

Swayam : Taani as bhai to maine tumhe congratulate kar dia but now it's time for the team captain to come forward and thank you.

Oh no, but main toh semis ke liye team ka captain tha hi nahi so Rey should do the honours.

Taani's heart beat increased with Rey's name. Every time she tries hard to forget him and hate him but her heart just gets carried away with his very name. Her soul always loses control over itself and makes her surrender herself. Her eyes too get lost in the magical effect of Rey's brownish chocolate eye balls.

Rey was about to extend a hand in gratitude but she didn't give him a chance.

Taani: No bhai its ok. Now let's talk about the party .

All (except taarey and swaron) : PARTY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rey completely broke and his head drooped. He took steps backward and his heart sank with every step.

Swaron noticed it but they felt helpless.

Rey: (to himself )kya maine tumhe kuch bhi kahne ka right kho diya hai Taani ?

Have I lost you forever ?

His heart cried with blood sheds. But no one noticed.

In the evening the gang (except taani) arrived at the college. All of them dressed in branded clothes. The college premises were beautifully decorated with white lilies which not only made the place divine but also gave the nostrils an amazing essence. The atrium had all the arrangements of drinks, food, dance and various fun activities. The white and red ribbons made the place look perfect for a youth party.

Not just the students but also the college professors too showed their stylish and glamorous side today.

Rey: hey swayam sab party mein aa gaye kya ?

Swayam : yar jab couples entry thi to how can someone from the gang be missing ?

Rey was still looking around, his peace was missing.

Swayam : oh bhai, Taani ko mat dhoodh !

Rey: main '..main kisi ko dhoodh nahi raha tha balki I was checking the decorations.

Swayam: han ?? (smiling)

Rey: waise tune yaad dila hi diya to tell me why is taani not here ?

She is guest of honor you see, so she has to make a grand entry that too alone.

Rey: oh I see

And they both chuckled.

After sometime the music was changed from rock to a melodious bollywood track and the lights went off. Then there was a spotlight on the entrance and a perfectly blended figure came to the view of people. Her black backless dress with 3 inch heels made her look soothing to every boys' eyes while the same figure made all the other divas envy her. Her perfume was so strong that it gave a tough competition to the essence of the natural flowers that were used in the decorations.

Every eye was stopped at her. But there were two pair of eyes that looked bewildered. Swayam was too uncomfortable that everyone was looking at his cute little sister while Rey wanted to kill all the boys standing in the atrium and staring Taani with their mouth wide open.

Rey: (to himself) saalon meri hi girlfriend mili stare karne ke liye ?

Swayam: main inn sab ko chodunga nahi ?

VP sir's voice interrupted everyone's trance. He stood at the stage with the mike.

Vp: welcome taani !

So students as you all know that St. Louis is again in NDC finals and it is all because of this lovely beautiful girl standing among you.

So taani this party is for you and our college so enjoy !

Everyone clapped hard and people stepped towards taani to congratulate her. But taani's eyes were constantly looking at a girl who was holding rey's arm so tightly that even air would have to take permission from them to pass. She was feeling jealous and her anger was increasing alarmingly. But her rage crossed all boundaries when the girl (TANYA) pulled rey on the floor for a close dance.

Taani could not tolerate it and she walked away to the drinks counter.

Waiter: Ma'am you need something ?

Taani: just shut up! I will serve my own self.

Waiter: but ma'am this is the hard drink counter only for the outside guests or faculties, the soft drink counter for students is there on the left .

Taani: now you will tell me what to drink and what not to ?

You just give me that green bottle''

Waiter: but ma'am?

Taani: give it to me (she shouted; rey with Tanya was all that was going in her head )

The waiter had no option but to give the bottle to Taani and she too emptied it without stopping once. The pain was killing her over and over again.

The alcohol overpowered her now and she walked to the dance floor and pushed Tanya away from rey.

Rey was shocked as he sensed Taani's condition.

Taani: mujhe bhi dance karna hai !

Everyone looked at her shocked and surprised. The teachers too were clueless.

Swayam rushed to taani and held her.

Swayam: taani you are drunk?

Taani: (smiles) haan bhai jab bahut sara pain chota to karna padata hai !

Swayam: Taani lets go home right now

Taani: bhai please leave me; I want to dance. Oye DJ mast party song play karo.

The DJ looked at VP sir''

A professor tried to interrupt but VP sir signaled him not to say anything.

Taani: I tried my level best to be friends with your group but for them I was always swayam's sister. Then you came in my life and I termed myself as yours for lifetime but what did u do rey ?

She was trembling in anger, her face was too red while there looked no scope of barricading her tears.

Rey was moved. Somewhere his inner roots were shaken and his heart wept in blood.

She was about fall when rey held her waist and prevented her body from embracing the cemented floor. She was in too much pain so she just fainted confessing her love for rey.

Vp: take her to the medical room immediately rey.

Rey took taani to the medical room while swaron too followed.

Everyone was waiting outside for the doctor.

Rey: sir whatever taani said about her leaving the college is it true ?

Rey, you know what taani was dieing every minute, every second. Since the day she was in college did anyone of you talked to her properly.

Vp: a week earlier she came for all her certificates and to tell that she was leaving St. Louis , I was shocked and I asked her the reason but she didn't tell. But I easily guessed that she was hurt and now to everything became crystal clear.

Rey fell down on the floor, and cried hard.

Taani ko ambitious banana ke liye maine use khud se itna dure kar diya lekin mujhe kya pata that ki mujhse dure hokar who khud bhi kho degi ?

Swayam hugged Rey.

Swayam: don't say all this rey. Whatever you did was for Taani's betterment and we should thank god that today we came to know about her decision, abhi its not too late Rey, as soon as Taani is in her senses go and tell her the truth, go and tell her that you still love her.

Rey: par kya wo meri baat manegi ?

Sharon: she loves you rey so she will believe you .

Stop her Rey before its too late.

Rey stood up.

Rey: I think you both are right, if I have come to know all this in time then I cant let her go like this.

We both are meant to be, maine use bahut hurt kiya hai but I promise I will tell her the truth and I will give her all the happiness she deserves and also I will make up for all my deeds.

He smiled and swaron hugged him tightly.
