The way you described the scene where Khushi visits Arnav to console him and he loses control of his emotions and hugs her while crying seemed very real to me; it kind of reminded me of when Arnav had lost control of his emotions and cried with Anjali on the show.
Arnav is a broken soul right now. Having lost his family, being thrown out of his own home must have taken a toll on him. And the final nail in the coffin for him was to find out that Khushi has a boyfriend. Arnav feels somewhat betrayed by this. But then again, there was never any sort of commitment between the two of them. Unless he would have told her, how would she have known his feelings towards her?
The precap states that Khushi will be quitting college. Obviously still unaware of the reasons to why Khushi will be taking this step, but who knows, maybe the coldness from Arnav may have driven her away.
The part where Payal offers Arnav some money was very touching too- similar to a brother-sister relationship. It reminded me of my brother.
Arnav is very lucky to have great friends like Payal and Akash who are going to be with him through this difficult time. Khushi may still have been a part of Arnav's friends clan if she would probably have made an attempt to sort things out with him.
I know, he was rude and distanced himself in one moment all of a sudden, but Khushi refusing to make any contacts with him unless he apologises seem quite egoistic to me. She may not be an ego-centric girl, but she should have understood that something is definitely wrong for Arnav to have reacted like this.
Who knows, if Khushi had gone to speak to Arnav, he may have continued to be rude to her; but at least she'd have gotten to know the reason behind his anger, or maybe even gotten to know whether there is a proper prospect of friendship with Arnav anymore or not. But then again, it works both ways. Arnav shouldn't have pushed her away from him like this either. She went there to meet him because he means something to her. Arnav has been involved with girls before, then why has it become a crime for Khushi to have a boyfriend? Ah love can be complicated and how!
Ok I'll give it a rest now. I really enjoyed this part. The characters are very relateble.
