Chapter 5: The first fight!

Vaishu: Virat why did you bring me here on the 2^nd floor. I am hungry!

It was 1 O'clock, the lunch break which they had for 1 hr and Vaishali was frustrated with Virat that he brought her on the 2^nd floor instead of going to canteen for lunch because she was starving and on top of that she had breakfast hurriedly, in the morning. Seeing her sad face Virat explained to her that it was necessary and urgent which he intends to talk with Maanvi. Hearing Maanvi's name a teasing smile crept on Vaishali's face unknowingly which didn't go unnoticed by Virat who was going to tell her to shut-up her thoughts but kept quiet seeing Maanvi coming out from her class and heading towards the staircase.

Virat, he himself didn't know why he felt so happy seeing Maanvi and was smiling like an idiot but in the next moment his smile vanished when he saw that she was accompanied by Her. Maanvi saw Virat standing near stair-case and smiled at him to which he smiled in response. He then turned to Vaishali and saw that even she was disturbed seeing The other girl. Virat gave a knowing look to Vaishali and said, "This is the urgent matter which I was talking about". Vaishali just nodded her head and gave a 'go ahead' look. Maanvi came near them and saw that both were standing silently which she felt was unusual because in the morning it seemed they were talkative. She also noticed that both Vaishali and Virat were eyeing her new friend as though she is a piece of filth. Yes that's what the feeling she got seeing their expressions and she turned aside to look her new friend's expression and saw the pain in her eyes. Maanvi then decided to break this silence and exchanged formal greetings with Virat and Vaishali. Then she took her friend by her arm and pulled forward who was trying very hard to hide behind Maanvi and introduced her to Virat and Vaishu saying, "This is Sandhya, my new friend." Seeing no reaction from all 3 of them she continued, " Sandhya, this is Virat and this is Vaishali aka Vaishu". Still no reaction and now this was enough to test Maanvi's patience and she addressed all three of them annoyingly, "what? You 3 can't speak anything?! " Virat sensed that she was annoyed and he too replied annoyingly, "Maanvi I need a word with you", giving glance to Sandhya he added, "in PRIVATE."

Maanvi felt that Virat was harsh in addressing her and even Virat felt so. Virat immediately apologized her, "I didn't mean to sound harsh. It's urgent matter "."I and Vaishu both want to speak with you in private", he added thinking that she may not be comfortable to talk with him alone privately. Maanvi first hesitated thinking what they need to talk with her and that too privately but then nodded her head in agreement and said to Sandhya, " I will be back in few minutes. Meet you in canteen ". Sandhya didn't respond anything but Maanvi saw the 'hurt' expression on her face and was confused about why all are behaving in mysterious manner. She decided to ask Sandhya the reason later and followed Virat and Vaishali down the staircase. They finally reached a secluded place in the college garden.

It was after reaching this secluded place that Virat finally broke the silence and told Maanvi," Don't you hang around with Sandhya anymore". Maanvi felt a sudden anger arise in her when she heard him saying that rudely. She immediately replied haughtily, "Who are you to say that? "

Virat didn't expect this question coming from her and was dumbfounded thinking what to answer. Vaishali interrupted in between and defended Virat saying, "See Maanvi, Virat didn't want to sound rude with you. It's just that you are new here and we are a bit worried about your choice in selection of your friends. Sandhya is not a good friend for you. "She was cut in between by Maanvi whose anger didn't take the name of calming down;"Excuse me who said that my choice is that bad in matter of choosing friends! I have full faith in my choice and I don't need anyone's help in that matter. Thanks to both of you for showing concern but I don't need your help". Vaishali tried to explain Maanvi," See Maanvi you are new here and you don't know people's nature'"

Maanvi had enough and she said finally said loudly although she tried not to scream," If that is the case then I should not trust both of you too. Even you both are new to me" Saying this she went away from there.

Vaishu turned to look at Virat who was still wondering about Maanvi's question-"Who are you to me? " Vaishali gave him a punch on his arm to bring him back to the present and exclaimed, " What the hell? You didn't even try to explain her about Sandhya . I thought you would use your family lawyer-skills and make her understand." Virat looked at her and said, "She is right. Who are we to her? We met her recently. To be specific you and I (pointing his index finger towards Vaishu and himself) met her yesterday & today respectively. If we have to make her believe us then first we need to be good friends."

Vaishu: But we are saying the truth that Sandhya is not a right person as a friend! What do you mean by "make her believe us"? We are not lying to her.

Virat: I know but look at the matter from Maanvi's point of view. According to her she is confused of whom to believe. We didn't even say the entire truth. We just said that don't hang around with Sandhya but didn't give the reason.

Vaishali considered the fact that they didn't saying anything much to Maanvi and became silent at once.

Virat: Vaishu I think we need to tell her everything that happened between you-Aakash-Sandhya.

Vaishu was still silent thinking about the matter. Virat understood that she was feeling uncomfortable to share her past (in which she was at no fault according to Virat) with Maanvi or any other person except her close friends.

Virat: See it's the same thing you don't think yet Maanvi as your close friend and same is the case with Maanvi. She too doesn't consider us and even Sandhya too as her close friends. I think she was angry on us just because she felt that we are trying to interfere in her life. Well actually we are interfering only, no?

When Vaishu heard the word 'interference'; she looked at Virat annoyingly and gave the look " you know why" to which Virat answered calmly, " Yes I know why we are interfering but it's not necessary that Maanvi will take it in a polite way without knowing the reason because I think even I would have reacted like that if I was in her shoes!"

Vaishu: Ok fine we will tell her the truth so that she keeps that Sandhya away from her!".
