Chapter 7

She looked at him...and saw the anger...and then looked away focusing on the smiling face of his mother...she was talking about something but all Shilpa could focus on were those eyes...when she looked back again...they were gone...and were instead replaced with Siddhanth walking away...

Nivedita...looked at Shilpa and followed her gaze...she saw her run go up the stairs to his room...she looked back at Shilpa and told her...

Forget about him...he must be tired...today has been quite eventful for him...thankfully tomorrow is Sunday so he doesn't have to work...Anyways...where was I...so what do you do Shilpa?

Oh..Aunty...and before she could continue Nivedita interrupted...do I look like an Aunty to you...might I say so myself...I had Sid quite early I was just 22 and then I had Sia 2 years later...I'm not that old...just call me Nivi...

Oh...sorry...Aun...I...mean Nivi...actually I have my own boutique...its across Houston General where my dad worked...my parents were the ones that help me acquire the shop.

That's great...Shilpa...I must say I have to come to your boutique someday...you have amazing taste..

Thanks...so if you don't mind me asking...is something wrong with your son...I mean is something wrong with Sid? Because he looked so lost when on the road...and his eyes...I mean he looks so angry...she said with concern in her voice

Nivedita sighed...what would she say to Shilpa...and then continued...nothing happened..he was just stressed...he had a rough day at the hospital with two surgeries...which according to him were difficult and long...and so I guess he must've been engrossed in his own thoughts.

She knew that Shilpa was probably a very sweet girl...but she knew her son too well...he wouldn't have been too pleased if Shilpa knew so much about him...as at the end of the day she was a stranger.

They continued talking about a lot of things...movie stars, fashion, favorite restaurants...Shilpa told her about her best friend Rohan and her other friends...and how she and her parents weren't currently on the best of terms...because they wanted her to become more mature and thought that she was irresponsible...and that was also the reason she was driving so fast...it was because she had stormed off during another fight with her parents...Nivedita listened...but like a friend she didn't judge Shilpa...when the started talking about parents...she suddenly interrupted Shilpa's rant and asked her whether he had informed her parents of her whereabouts...and Shilpa nodded...she had forgot..so without a pause she took out her iphone and called home...

Hey Jessie...this is Shilpa...when mom and dad wake up tell them I'm at a friends...crashing for the night...and will be home by lunch...or I'll meet dad at the hospital...

Nivi looked at Shilpa questioningly and as if Shilpa could read her mind she replied...Jessie is the cook...she's like my second mother though...and mom and dad have stopped really freaking out about me...when I run off like this...because they know...when I get emotional its best if I talk to a friend...and that reminds me...she then proceeded to hug Nivi tightly and when the hug broke...she looked up warmly and said thank you Nivi...thank you for not judging me...and thank you for being my friend tonight...and not just Sid's mother...

She simply smiled...Shilpa you call me a friend and then say thank you...sweet heart... if we are thanking each other than I have to thank you for saving my son...bringing him home...and also getting rid of my loneliness...I love my boys...Sid and my husband but you know I sometimes really miss my daughter...she's in London studying...and she's always so busy we rarely get to chat...like this...today I have to say Shilpa I didn't miss her as much with you here...

Shilpa smiled back at Nivi...and the stifled a yawn...

Nivi placed her hand over Shilpa's head and in a motherly way told her that they should probably go to bed...and then took her towards the guest bedroom and tucked her in...she then left to her own bedroom...on her way there she just smiled...Shilpa was a refreshing change...for the past month seeing Sid the way he was she too was feeling low...but Shilpa was like the sun after a storm...she rose her spirits...then Nivi frowned...as she remembered a time when her son was like Shilpa...full of life...positive...and refreshing...and with that she turned off the light.

I know its a shorter chapter but I thought it was sweet...so hope you enjoy..and chapter 8 will come by tonight. 😊...Y'all must be thinking I have a lot of free time...but actually I really am also a fan of SidShi so writing this fic just gives me a sense of satisfaction...for the last couple of days I just keep thinking about what Shilpa and Sid (in my story) will do next...this process is quite exciting...anyways keep reading, commenting, and liking.

Chapter 8

Shilpa woke up...early...it was on 8 am considering that he had only slept 3 hours ago...it was definitely early...maybe it was because she was hungry...she decided to go see if there was something in the kitchen to eat...she went to the beautiful open kitchen...and went to the giant refrigerator...and opened it up...there was nothing that interested it her...everything was too healthy...she decided to make herself some coffee...and found some cookies in a cupboard...they weren't the ones she usually preferred because they were bran...but she was so hungry...and she told herself quite strictly...beggars can't be choosers Shilpa...and began to eat...when the coffee was made she took a large wiff...it was heaven in a cup...and she slowly began to drink the coffee...after her little breakfast she was completely energized...everyone seemed to have been sleeping...she decided to first do something constructive...she got her phone and called the towing company and then decided to explore the Modi mansion...she walked up the stairs that Sid had taken...for some reason she felt compelled to see him...and her feet began taking her towards what she thought would be her room...she slowly opened the door... and tip-toed inside...his room was quite clean...everything was in its place...there were white wardrobes...a guitar was kept on one side of the room...so he's like music...haan not too boring... she thought to herself and she continued to look around...on his desk he could see a bunch of files...they were opened...meaning he didn't go immediately to sleep...on one of the walls there were frames...one of him with his college buddies...they had beer in their hands and looked like the were celebrating...there was one with Nivi where his arms were around her neck and his head was placed on top of her...he was smiling... showing all his pearly whites...there was a picture in front of a reception desk with a bunch of people in white doctor's coats behind it said Sanjeevani...he looked so happy...in all these pictures...so what happened why couldn't see the spark she had seen in all these pictures in his eyes anymore...he had met him yesterday but it didn't take a genius to know something had happened to him...when she thought of him a smile crept on her face...and then she turned around and came closer to his bed...he was sleeping...he looked so innocent...the sunlight was slightly hitting his face...and for a moment his eyes fluttered and a frown came onto his face...she quickly stood in front of him blocking the light...and saw sudden contentment on his face... as he went back to sleep...she suddenly felt tired...she had only slept for a couple of hours...maybe if she just sat down for a minute...she went to the other side of his bed and slowly sat down...oh god...the bed was so soft...maybe if she just lie down for just a minute and before she knew it...Shilpa fell a sleep next to Siddhaanth in his bed. The both slept peacefully with their backs to each other.

After a couple of hours the both got closer...and soon Shilpa head was on Sidhaanth's bear chest...his heart beat had an even more calming effect on her...he also in his sleep encircled one of his arms around her waist and the continued to sleep...they would have continued sleeping if it wasn't for Siddhanth's phone...it rang...and without moving he picked it up...he was still in a daze and hadn't noticed Shilpa's sleeping figure...he picked up his phone...with his eyes squinting he realized it was a video call...he hated technology...he slowly moved and Shilpa unconsciously shifted her weight and moved out of Sid's arms and turned to her side again...the video call began... it was Armaan...of course thought Sid...the only idiot who wouldn't care about the time when he called someone...

Hey...he mumbled what's up bro?

Armaan replied..damn it man...do you have a bet with someone...where they dared you to look like crap all day everyday...

Sid wiped his face with his hand...in an attempt to feel a little fresh...and said nah man its just that I was sleeping...and I had a late night...yesterday...

Oh...I see...well I just called to see how you were doing...u ended yesterdays call quite abruptly...are you ok?

Ya...Armaan...mein teek hoon...I'm fine it's just that something came up and as if just on cue...Shilpa turned and resumed her position on top of Sid...he was so shocked he couldn't move...he looked at Shilpa as she slept so peacefully...when did she come to his room and why was she so comfortable...and why hadn't he noticed...why did he feel that he had a great nights sleep...how long were they sleeping like this and in all this he had forgotten Armaan...who also was looking quite confused...

Armaan broke Sid out of his thoughs...ok...he smiled his devilish smile...and said ...I get why you ended the call so quickly...something came up...or more like someone came up...huh...he teased

Armaan...its not what it looks like I mean...and at the moment he shook Shilpa and she slowly opened her eyes... and saw Siddhaant looking at her with his phone in front of him...she was so shocked...this was definitely a dream wasn't it...I mean...she just had to wake up..so she pinched herself...but she felt the pain. This was real...NOOO THIS WAS SO REAL...then she remembered her little adventure inside his room...she straightened herself up...as he held herself up against the head board...maybe if she acted as if this was normal...it would be... and so she said...

Good Morning Sid! I hope you slept well...is something wrong why did you wake up? And more importantly why did you wake me up? I was so tired you know...after last night I mean I slept barely at 4 am..and now its she looked up at the clock in his room...its only 10 am...and it's a freaking Sunday...chill out!

He just looked at her...had she lost it...was it that during that accident she had also hit her head...what was she talking about...how in the hell was this normal...she was a girl he barely knew and she was cuddled up beside him...like 5 minutes ago and she was asking him to chill...he was to bewildered to even be angry...and so he just looked at her...and she continued daringly looking at him...

The silence was broken with Armaan's voice... Hey Sid will you introduce you me to you gorgeous friend...Sid looked back at his phone...what? Who? He asked...umm dude the really pretty girl next to you...and before he could respond...she took the phone away from him..

She waved...to Armaan ...Hi my name is Shilpa...Shilpa Malhotra...aap ka naam kya hein?

I'm Armaan...Sid ka dost and bhai...aur aap kaon hein... she smiled

Well I don't know about him...but I definitely you're friend...she laughed.

They continued their ghup chup ...it was like they were old pals or something...and Sid he just completely zoned out...hoping that in the process he would disappear.

I know in real life...most people don't video chat as much..but I wanted that throughout this fic Sid doesn't loose contact with his friends...especially Armaan...expect more of Armaan popping in...I mean a lot of fics make Armaan and Sid enemies after the whole Riddhima thing but I think that their friendship is stronger than that...and isn't their a saying...Bros before Hoes...not that Riddhima is a hoe..but still...anyways hope you enjoy! 😃

Sorry guys...yesterday I didn't update! So in order to make it up to y'all I will make the coming chapter longer...the next chapter will be out by today definitely!

Finally...I'm back with an update...I have to say this was very difficult for me to write because I love Siddhant's character a lot...you will understand what I mean when you read the chapter...anyways like always please comment...and tell me what you thought...like and if you want you can also give me suggestions to what you would like to see in the future chapters.

Chapter 9

The call ended...and for a brief moment there was silence surrounding Shilpa and Sidhaanth.

Shilpa thought to herself about the conversation she had with Armaan...he was such a nice guy...they were innocently passing flirtatious comments at each...after which he showed her the ring on his finger and said to her...sporting a fake sad face...I'm taken...she also played along and replied...but what about my plans...we were going physically meet each other and after I swept you off you feet we were supposed to get married and produce a cricket team...he laughed they both had the same sense of humor...he thought to himself that Shilpa would be the perfect girl for Sid...she was like a female version of the old Sid...the Sid that was innocent and not jaded...Armaan knew that even though Sid denied it...he hadn't fully moved on from Riddhima...the pain hadn't subdued yet. That's why he had decided that he would continuously keep tabs on Sid and try to make everything normal again. After he saw Sid's reaction to Riddhima's presence last night...he had promised himself that he would help Sid forget her...and in order to do so he couldn't bring her within any conversations he had with Sid...he didn't even want Sid to know that they were engaged...because it felt too much like rubbing it in his face that they were so happy... but Riddhima didn't understand...she for some reason couldn't seem to see the pain that reflected in Sid's eyes even after a month of his departure from India...she believed that everything was back to normal again and that Sid and her could be friends again...but only he knew from experience that lovers can never re-cross that bridge back into friendship...hell he had tried with Riddhima when he had found about her marriage...but if only he had faced his feelings then...Sid would've have been in less agony now. He returned to talking to Shilpa for a bit and then the call ended.

Shilpa took the immaculate silence as a good sign that Sid wasn't angry anymore and that her plan of acting like nothing had happened had worked out. But she was unaware of the silent storm that was brewing inside Siddhanth Modi...he grew angrier with each passing second...he couldn't believe what had just taken place...Shilpa decided that since everything was ok now she would go downstairs and check on Nivi...as she turned around to leave Sidhaanth grasped her wrist tightly and turned her around pinning her onto his wardrobe...and tightened his grip further...she cringed as the pain became unbearable...and in a pained whisper informed him...Sid you're hurting me...stop...please...let me go!

He couldn't hear her anymore it was like he was in a bubble...nothing could get through to him...he pulled her closer to him and said in almost a whisper...isn't this what you wanted...if I sleep with you...you'll finally leave me alone won't you...there was malice dripping from each and every word that came out of his mouth...he than began at her neck and starting kissing it roughly...tears fell from her eyes and then he suddenly let go and pushed her away from him...you're not worth it... I mean what have your parents taught you...I know you live in America...but I don't even think the modern women here will stoop so low and fall into bed with a man that they met the night before and act as if nothing has happened...she just looked at him...and her vision blurred as more tears formed in her eyes...he grabbed her shoulder and almost screamed...GET OUT! I NEVER WANT TO SEE YOUR SHAMELESS FACE EVER AGAIN...without saying a word she ran out of his room.

Sidhaanth sat on his bed with a thump...he couldn't believe what he had just done...it was as if all the anger and frustration he had been harboring for the last month and a half erupted like lava...what had happened to him had nothing to do with Shilpa...he started to feel guilty for he had just done and said...but at the same time he thought well why did she have to come so close...he had decided long ago and he would not let himself repeat the mistakes that happened in the past...because he knew the second he let her closer...she would leave him...like Tamanna and Riddhima...of course he didn't love her but...he still couldn't take the chances of perhaps later falling in love with her. He concluded that it was best that she hated him...and heeded to his advice and never crossed paths with him...However he couldn't forgive himself either for what he had done to accomplish his goal of creating a distance between himself and Shilpa...but he had to do something...she was fitting so perfectly into his life already...his friends liked her...and so did his mom...he had to pull out the problem from the roots...even if he had to lose his own self respect in front of himself.

Nivi was sitting at the dinning table buttering her toast...when she saw Shilpa running downstairs into the guest room and slamming the door...she was so surprised...and went to find out what had happened...as she got closer to the guest room she could her muffled sobs...she was so worried...why was this sweet little girl crying...she knocked on the door...

Shilpa...kya hua...please door open karo...why are you crying my love... there was no reply...she was so afraid...did Shilpa get into another fight with her parents...but then it hit her that Shilpa had come running from the stairs...and only one name came to her mind...SID!

She ran into his room...muttering to herself...what has gotten into this boy... why is he doing this...when she reached his room she directly stood in front of him and pulled him up with his collar. Everything happened so quickly that Sid had no time to react or say anything...Nivi with all her strength shook him and with tears in her eyes asked him...

Why are you doing this Sid? What had Shilpa done that you made her cry? She has locked herself in the guest bedroom you know...beta I know you are still in pain but that does not give you any right to cause others the same amount of pain. She was so happy last night when we talked...she is such a lively soul...why did you have to hurt her so much...that she won't even talk to me anymore...Siddhaanth I knew that it would take to time to forget about what has happened in the past...but ab baas hua...first you came home and ignored me...then yourself...I didn't say anything...even as I saw you destroying your own life...by forgetting how to live...I didn't say anything...even after I spent so long in trying to bring you out of your shell and you chided me for bugging you...I didn't say anything...even though you have practically stopped showing your face in this house...I didn't say anything...saying this she raised her voice further...but when did whatever you did to hurt an innocent soul that had no connection to your past I draw the line...Beta I have realized today...that the hope I had that I would get my son back...has died...YOU'RE NOT MY SIDHAANT...YOU HAVE BECOME SOMETHING ELSE...BETA IF YOU DON'T STOP NOW...I CAN SEE YOU LOOSING ALL YOUR HUMANITY IN THE FUTURE!

Was Riddhima so important to you that you could hurt the mother that so painstakingly brought you into this world...was she so important that you could ignore the worry in your father's eyes...was she so important that you can't see the efforts made by you friends to cheer you up...was she so important that you forgot all the relationships you made before you married her...haan...all I can say Siddhant is I've never been more disappointed in you than I am now...I used to be proud of you son...but now...I can't say I feel the same way anymore! And with that she left...she didn't give him a chance for him to say anything...after hearing all that his mother had said to him Siddhant broke down...his knees could not support that weight of his conscious and he fell to the floor and cried.

the beginning was so sweet, how armaan and shilpa connected as they were old friends, love it how armaan could understand sids real pain, that he has still not moved...and riddhima as always cant understand clearly...oh forget to say , the fact that shilpa is the female version of old sid was just perfect...
i have to admit that i like it very much to see the concern from armaan...
