Part 12A:
Arjun dragged away a reluctant and inconsolably crying Sakshi to the SUV...
He could see that they were fighting against a terribly ruthless and horrid enemy or enemies...but whom? And he was damn sure that Sakshi was hiding something which was the root cause of all these happenings...
He had to talk to her soon...but now, he let her be...she needed time and space to deal with whatever had happened to her friend!

She didn't even know where he took her...or rather, she didn't notice or was least bothered about it at that time...She was still lost in the crime scene where her closest friend Nikhil lay dead and the blood stains were still on her hands and clothes...
Moreover, from the deepest of her, she completely trusted the man beside her...So she had nothing else to worry upon!
He knew that she was not in the right mind state...He helped her into the room and even guided her into the wash room to freshen up and change the blood stained clothes...
He closed the door behind him and walked into the corridor to give her the space and privacy...
He had no option but bring her here tonight...He couldn't take the risk of driving more at this late hour...well he had also thought of the option of spending the night driving all night but then she was tired and he was exhausted too!
Moreover, he knew that her attackers wouldn't plan another one so soon...they would have known by now that ETF was on the prowl behind them...

Both of them required rest...After all that happened, a good sleep was out of question but atleast a peaceful time where they could be stretch back at ease was much required...
He first made a call to Chotu asking him for a replacement of their car...the ETF SUV was noticed by everyone...Travelling in it will make their presence pretty much obvious to all...
After the call, he stood on the corridor overlooking the road below thinking about how to get the truth from her...He knew that what she hid from him was something very big and dangerous too...But he had to know it in order to get her out of this entire messy situation!
Meanwhile, Sakshi looked at herself in the mirror...She had seen death closely before...she had seen blood before...she had seen a dear one dying before but yet, nothing could help her take another death so easily...
Yes she was a daring, brave girl...she feared nothing or perhaps she thought so...but today, she realized she wasn't that daring like she posed to be...
She was still the darling pampered little girl of her parents who always loved to be within the confines of their protective embrace away from the cruel mean outside world...The pretence or the mask she had worn tore away today just by seeing another death!
But no, she cant lose it so easily...she had miles to go and things to do before she could break down like this...she couldn't get shattered...Nikhil's death or rather his sacrifice of life was for her and for her mission...he had lost his life for her to win this battle of justice...
Her father used to say always, "kuch paane keliye kuch khona hi padtha hai"...Yes he was right but little did she expect that she would lose her dear ones in the way to victory!
She also felt guilty because she knew that she and her mission were the causes of Nikhil's death...Indirectly, she was the reason...she had killed him! That thought killed her as well...and that was what shattered her so much!
She stood below the shower washing away the blood off her...she cried as the water showered down her face taking away his blood and her tears...With it she also let all her fears and shattered feelings wash away...She had done the same few years back after her parents...[she ceased thinking about it]
She made up her mind not to cry as she couldn't allow her tears to blur her resolves!
The resolve to face things bravely...the resolve to look ahead and plan the next step rather than look back...Looking back would lead to nothing...it would only push her back into a black hole from where she could never emerge back!
She came out of the washroom covering herself with the same dress she was wearing...but she had to change it...it was all drenched now...
She looked around...not a trace of him anywhere...She realized that he went out to give her privacy...She quickly bolted the door and thats when her eyes fell on the bed
She saw the dresses which he had picked from the store on the bed...probably Arjun had brought them from the car...she picked a big dress which was the only one which would cover her up properly...the others were either too short or revealing!
She quickly wore the dress...it was very loose for her and could accommodate 2 more Sakshis but as of now, she had no other choice...
Sakshi stood before the mirror looking at her own reflection...She hadn't dried up her hair properly and so water droplets trickled down her face...she didn't bother to wipe it...She felt lost again!
Her own identity, her existence, her life everything was at stake now...She wondered if she could trust her own reflection...or her own shadow now
But she was sure that she could trust him...She knew that he must be anxious to know what was causing this havoc in her life...and who are the people behind her life...
She looked around the room again and thats when she realized that it was some lodge...perhaps it was the same lodge where he spent his nights!
It was a small yet neat and elegant room...
Sakshi put up her washed clothes for drying...she had to wear it back tomorrow...She couldn't step out in any of those new dresses!
After that, she opened the door and looked around the corridor...the creaky sound of the opening of the door sought his attention...He looked at her...
She slowly walked to him...he looked at her head to toe...The dress was a total misfit...it was so big that it kept falling off her shoulders...
She was constantly pulling it up and had a tough time keeping it in place! She looked funny in it...
He didn't want to but still, he couldn't help let out a chuckle...he knew he had picked really wrong dresses for her...but what else could he do in that panic situation...He voiced out apologetically..."main aise matters mein thoda weak hoom..."
She couldn't keep quiet hearing it as well...she instantly replied showing off her loose dress, "thoda?"
He looked at her expressions...he was stunned at her sudden normal behaviour...she looked normal now and also smiled back at him...
She looked like the ever bubbly wrong number he knew but he could see the sorrow and pain still lingering in those eyes!
Her eyes betrayed her and stayed far from the smile...Even though she tried hiding all that behind a smile, he could read it!
Arjun: tum teek ho na?
Sakshi nodded, "hmmm...I am fine..."
Arjun didn't want to probe further though he knew that she was just pretending to be fine...he knew that she was upset and would take time to return to her normal self...
Arjun: humein kal subah hi yahaan se nikhalna hai...Kuch din keliye tumhe iss sheher se dhoor rehna hai...ek jagah jahaan koyi nahi paunch paayega...Its outside the city limits...
Sakshi shook her head saying no..."No Arjun...i cant run away or hide like that...mujhe yahaan rehke hi ladhna hoga...
Arjun: [he was quick to shoot back] kisse?
Sakshi: [realizing her slip] woh...actually mere kaam hai na...sacch ka patha lagaana, usse logon tak paunchaana...injustice ke khilaaf ladhna...[before she could speak more]
Arjun snapped her before she could go on..."sacch bathao Sakshi...I need to know it"
Sakshi: Arjun main sacch hi toh bol rahi hoom...
Arjun flared up hearing her continuous attempts to hide the truth from him...he controlled himself and looked around...there were other rooms around and was occupied as well...
He couldn't afford to attract attention...So he dragged her into his room...
He almost threw her to a corner of the room in anger...
Shutting the door behind him, he turned around to her...
She knew that this face off would come up sooner or later and so wasn't stunned a bit...She knew that he wouldn't relax till he knows it all from her!
Sakshi: Arjun, yeh tum kya kar rahe ho? Maine sacch hi toh...
Arjun snapped her, "shut up Sakshi...aur kitna jhoot bologi tum...mujhe patha hai ke kuch bohat badaa reason hai jiss keliye tum yahaan waapas aayi aur ETF join kiya...hai na?
Sakshi closed her eyes as he stood like a raging volcano and glared at her with his fuming eyes...She voiced out, "haan...hai..."
Arjun crossed his arms across his chest and stood firm on his stand, "Out with it right now"
Sakshi: plz Arjun...try to understand...main yeh sab batha nahi sakthi...
Arjun: [sarcastically]really? Phir tum apna kaam ko bhool hi jaao...you will not come back to this city without my permission...I will make sure of that!
Sakshi: tum mere life ke decisions nahi le sakthe ACP Arjun Rawte...neither can you change my path! Main wahi karungi jo mujhe karna chahiye...I will not come with you!
Arjun: aur main jo kehtha hoom woh main karke dikhaatha hoom...tum chaaho ya na chaaho...I will take you away from here...
Sakshi knew that he wouldn't let her free till she tells him the truth...
As she stood in the dilemma, he stepped closer and voiced gently, "kya tumhe mujh par bharosa nahi hai? Dont you trust me wrong number?"
Sakshi: khud se bhi zyaadha bharosa karthi hoom...but
Arjun: but what?? harr jung akele ladhna zaroori nahi hota...
Sakshi: maine apna jung akele shuru kiya tha parr raaste mein mere dhoston ne saat diya and see what happened...Nikhil...[a lone tear appears and her words break up] usse mauth de diya unn logon ne...I cant let that happen to anybody else...agar tumhe kuch hogaya toh main apne aap ko kabhi maaf nahi karpaavungi...
Arjun: mujhe kuch nahi hoga...dont worry about me!
Sakshi ignored his consoling and continued, "They are very dangerous Arjun...kuch bhi kar sakthe hai...unne bas mujhse matlab hai...they only need me...aur woh pa..."
Arjun: aur woh kya??
Sakshi: mujhe abi mere doston se baat karni hai...i need to keep them safe and away from all this...[she was tensing up] I have to warn them Arjun!...i have to
Arjun: shhh Sakshi relax...ab woh sab ETF ke protection mein hai...they are safe...dont worry!
Sakshi couldn't have asked him for more...she looked at him with gratitude for having done that for her even before she asked!
Arjun: ab bathao Sakshi...tumne ETF kyun join kiya? Tum sacch bathaavoge nahi toh hum tumaare help kaise karenge???
Sakshi finally decided to let it out...may be it was time for him to know it...
She took a deep breath and walked a little away from him...He turned to her direction and stood silently...patiently...He knew she was preparing herself for disclosing that hidden side of her to him...
She started off slowly "kuch chupaa hua sacch ko baahar laane keliye...mere papa ko behgunaa prove karke unne insaaf dhilaane keliye..."
Arjun enquired, "tumaare papa?? Woh Kahaan hai?"
It just hit him that in all his digging up and enquiries about her, he had never once stumbled upon details about her family...absolutely nothing had come up...She was an orphan as per all her records and though he felt it a bit mysterious, he hadn't pondered much into it at that time!
She didn't reply to his question directly but replied after letting out a sigh, "hmm...papa...mere papa...he will rest in peace only when I win justice for him"
Arjun could sense a daughter's side of her...the death of her father and its sorrow was still fresh in her...He could see how emotionally attached she was to her father even now...
Arjun: kaun hai tumaare papa?
Sakshi: Anand Srivastav...naam toh sunaa hi hoga, na?
Yes that name did ring a bell somewhere...he knew him...his thought process drifted back by a few years...
Arjun spoke up the next instant but a little hesitantly..."you mean Dr Anand Shrivastav, jinnone suicide kiya tha?"
Sakshi turned to him and looked at him intently, "woh suicide nahi tha...it was a cold blooded murder...they killed him!"
Her words killed her once more...once more, everything came right before her...almost killing her deeply time and again...
It pricked him too...somewhere deep in his heart...he could feel her pain, her agony and her horrid memories...
