CHAPTER 2: Nayi shuruath

zindagi ke do azeez pehlu dosti aur pyaar
jinke bina zindagi kuch nahi..
dono rishto me hai ek hamsafar ki zarurat ..
jo aapko bina kuch kahe aapki har baat ko samajh sake..
jaha na to koi maafi ki zarurat ho na hi shukriya ki..

All comes in for the breakfast. Arjun is already for the office in his white shirt and jeans. Choti comes in her favorite salwar. "good morning everyone..."

"hm... agayi madam. Dekha Arjun tumhare lad pyaar ke wajah se bohot bigad gaye hai ye. Na time pe uth thi hai, na puja pe athi hai. sab there wajah se" mom was in her complaining mood.

Arjun glared at Choti. "dekha aaj firse theri wajah se sun raha hu mien..."

"oho.. bhai... chill.."

Mom: chill ki bachi. Time pe uthna seekh. Warna ek din their sasuma se mujhe sunna padega.

Anji: ma... aaj firse meri shaadi pe aagayi. Uske bare mien bolo jo 3 hafthe mien aane wale hai. kyu bhai??

Arjun: ha... at last sare theer mere tharaf hi ayega.

Dad: nahi Arjun, choti teekh keh rahe hai. tum apne dosthonko invite kiya? Aur Roshni ke gharwalon se bhi baath karna ke unhe koi help chahiye ke nahi. Aur tumhare sharwani ka kya hua?

Arjun: dad, mien office pe jaatha hu. Tailoring shop nahi. Maa.. samjhana.. I don't have time for all these. Ye sharwani aur saare kaam aap hi dekh lena. Mujhe aur bhi bohot kaam hai. aur rahi, uncle se baath, mien patha kartha hu.

Anji: ha... ha.. bhabhi se baath karne ke chance hi dhund rahe the. Ab mil gaya...

Arjun kicks her below the table. "ouch.. bhai... aise math maar..." all laughs at him while he goes red.

"ab tang keechna khatam hogaye hai tho gaadi ke paas aajana. Aaj mien wait nahi karunga."

He goes out after taking his breakfast hurriedly.

Anji: maa.. dekha jaise hi bhabhi ka naam liya... bhai ke rang kaise change hogaye the... ab soch jab wo ayegi tho kya haal hoga??

Arjun: (from outside) CHOTI...

Anji: aayi.. bye maa warna wo aaj mujhe nahi chodege... bye...

She rushes out to him, who was already in the SUV.

Arjun: ok mam. Jaise aap kahengi waise hi hoga. Lo tumhare college agayi hai. bye Choti.

Anji: hey not Choti. Its Anjali here. Anjali Suryakanth Rawte... bye ACP...

She winks and goes to her college.

"paagal..." He smiles and drives off.

He was busy whole day but was free by evening. After the work he called Roshni to meet the regular place and he went to the SUV. All the way he was thinking of their first meeting.

pyaar ek jazba hai..
jise wohi samaj sakhta hai..
jise iska ikraar hota hai..

Few months back:

Arjun: maa... ye sab kya hai. apke aur Dad ke dost ne dinner pe bulaye hai tho jaana, mujhe aur Choti ko kyu lejarahe ho?

Mom: samjha karo Arjun, they invited us all together.

Arjun: par maa, choti ko padhayi karni hogi. Why to disturb her. I'll stay with her.

Anji: bhai mujhe koi problem nahi hai. we'll go together.

Arjun: (glaring at her) brutus...

Mom: Arjun, ek dinner hi hai. problem kya hai?

Anji: ha bhai, lets go. I'm sure you will love it.

Arjun: matlab?

Anji: I mean... dinner... I'm sure bohot ache hoge. Haina maa?

Dad: Arjun, meiene kaha hai ke sab aaraha hai. so don't back off now.

Arjun unwillingly agrees to it. he notices choti and mom giggling. Even dad seemed to be hiding something. He tried his level best to understand. But failed. At last they reached the Sharma house.

They elders hugged as if meeting after a long time. and then the Sharma family came and received Arjun. he was feeling awkward due to the affection and care. Choti had a great time watching him. Elders started to talk. He goes near her ears. "boring boring boring..."

"don't worry bhai, the excitement is about to begin.." she whispers back.

"what??"

"wait and see brother.."

Then Mr. Sharma speaks up. "aao Roshni..."

He looks at her direction. There comes a lady in an offwhite salwar. Hair curly, with a beautiful eyes and a great smile. She was bringing a tray of tea cups. She came and distributed the tea to all. But paused a second in front of Arjun and looked into his eyes. He was a bit surprised, maybe shocked. The eyes were so beautiful. he took the cup and she passed and stood by her mom. Choti came near her bro's ears. "aap chai pee sakthe hai bhai,. Isme zaher nahi nahi." He came back and glared at the giggling sister.

He took the teacup to his lips.

Mr. Sharma: agar aap chaho tho Roshni se akale mein baath kar sakthe ho Arjun.

He choked his tea. It was a hard time for Choti to hold her smile.

Arjun: sorry.. what??

Mr. Rawte: Arjun, hum yaha tumhare aur Roshni ke bare mien baath karne aye hai.

Arjun was all the more surprised. He looked at Roshni who was blushing and smiling keeping her eyes down.

Anji: I told you na?? you will love it!!

That was the first meeting. After some further meetings he was sure that Roshni was the one for his life. The engagement happened a few weaks later. And fixed the marriage day. Now only 3 weeks left for the marriage.

Present day:

He reached the beach. She was sitting in her usual place waiting for him. As he walked close to her, she smiled at him. The one he had been waiting the whole day.

Ro: hi.

Ar: hi. Waiting for long time?

Ro: nahi bas thode pehle hi aye. How was your day?

Ar: fine. Kuch pending cases the, completed. Aur school mien sab teekh?

Ro: ha, all fine.( he sat by her side)

Ar: so shaadi ke thayari sab kaise chal rahe hai?

Ro: all fine. Mumma kaafi bhag dhod kar rahe hai.

Ar: tell her ke koi bhi help chahiye tho bathana. I can help.

Ro: ok. Bathaungi. (she is blushing)

Ar: kya hua? Aise chup kyu ho?

Ro: nothing. Shaadi ke Date bohot kareeb aaya hai.

Ar: ab koi second thoughts tho nahi hai na? Mujhe dump karne ka iraada tho nahi ?

Ro: (smiling) meine aise kab kaha? Mien tho bas.. (she smiles again)

Ar: (taking her hand) patha hai. don't worry. I am here with you. Always and forever. Promise.

She knew he would be with her forever, she believes him. She had seen his love in his eyes. She lean slowly towards him and rests her head on his shoulder. "Patha hai Arjun. I believe you."

They sit there watching the sunset with their hands together.. it was a promise for life time...
