CHAPTER 4:
No one thought the married life would such a pleasant experience. Roshni was welcomed whole- heartedly to the home, to the family and to each one's life. Her relationship with Choti was of friend, a sister and a guide. Mom gave Roshni a big task to bring Choti on track. A mission which was such a fun filled one.
Arjun ... well he was out of the world. There was only one prayer he had, please this family be as it is forever. He could never think of anything that would separate him from his family. It was his backbone. His lifeline. Day by day his love for Roshni increased. He respected the way she handled the family. Her profession as a teacher kept her lively. And the family atmosphere... well it was the one that every girl would dream of.
7 months later:
The life was moving smoothly. Arjun was getting ready for a trip to Delhi. He had an undercover mission there. It may take a few days to finish. She was packing his bag with all the necessary items. She felt a hand wrapping her from behind pulling her closely. "hey... kya kar rahe ho Arjun? chod..."
"hm... yaha ek bechara pathi kuch din keliye baahar ja rahe hai, aur unke patni ko koi parwah hi nahi hai. kya yaar, you wont me miss me??"
She turned to him. He could see a gloominess in her eyes. "I'm already missing you Arjun. bas jaldi aana."
He cupped her face. "mien tho aise hi keh rahi thi. Don't worry mien bohot jald wapas aunga."he hugged her tightly. "I know Arjun, bas apna khayal rakhna"
"ok I promise. Waise ye ma-pappa ko bhi abhi jaana tha, wo bhi uss stupid se shaadi pe. Tumhe aur Choti ko yaha akele chod ke jaana padraha hai. I don't like it"
she cuppes his face. "duty pasand aur na- pasand pe depend nahi hotha ACP Rawte. Samjhe ya samjhau."
"hm.. nahi samjhe... thode aur samjhana..." he comes closer to her.
"hey... aapko der ho rahe hai. chal jaldi kijiye." He still captures her and hugs her. She hugs him back. "aap fikar math kijiye. Choti ko mien sambhal lungi. Aap bas apna kaam par dhyan dijiye aur jaldi aayiye. Ok??"
"yes mam, samajh gaye. Par. Kuch dino keliye hum phone nahi kar paunga. Especially yaha se koi call nahi aasakthe. Koi bhi zaroorath pade tho ye lo, ye inspector Avinash ka number hai. call him. I'll speak to him.ok?"
"ok. Par iska koi zaroorath nahi hogi. Any way take care ok!!"
"ok Roshni.. bye..." he hugs her and kiss her passionately. She was feeling a bit frightened. But she knew that she should be his strength. They go out to the hall where Choti was waiting.
zindagi me kartvya aur pyar..
do aise bandhan jinhe puri shidath se nibhaya jata hai..
agar farz ek anokha ehsas hai..
to pyar uska aadhar...

"ok, Choti I'm leaving. Apna khayal rakhna, aur Roshni ko zyada sathana math. Ok?"
"yes bhai, aap fikar math kijiye. Mien hu na!! bhabhi ka mien ache se khayal rakhunga. Aur aap apna kaam pura kijiye." She gives him a sweet before going out and he wraps her in his arm kissing her forehead. He left in his vehicle, leaving both the ladies sad.
"chalo bhabhi, ab koi depression state me math dikhana. Bhai will be just fine and he'll be back soon. Ok?? Aapka ye pehli experience hai na? isiliye tensed ho. But he'll be just fine. I promise."
"ok, I believe you." She hugs her. "ab bas, padhayi pe concentrate karo. Exams aaraha hai na!!"
"are bhabhi, bhai yaha se ninkla nahi, aap tho unke har dialog bolne lage."
"chal bhag.. bohot bolthi ho tum" Chot runs inside while Roshni looks at the way. "jaldi aana Arjun. I miss you"
Its been 2 days that Arjun was out of the town and both of them were terribly missing him. The parents were not happy to be away from them but they didn't have a choice. The girls told that it was fine and they were happy to know that the parents would be back Saturday early morning. It was already Thursday.
Inspector Avinash also called that evening saying that Arjun was fine and he would be mostly back by Saturday evening. So both of them were double happy.
Next day evening Anji were out in a market having a small shopping while Roshni was still at school ready to be going back to go home.
Same time 2 men were moving with a small packet in their hand. Though it was small it was so costly for them. they were walking in a fast pase as they knew they were being followed. They decided to split up. The man with the packet entered the market region as it was crowded. He moved hurriedly while the other mixed with the crowd a bit far away keeping him in sight. The policemen in the casuals were just behind that man with the packet.
Anji unaware of all these spotted a bangle market and went to that side. Bangles always made her excited. She was looking at the bangles happily and selected a set after some time. "bhabhi ko bhi lethe hai" she started searching one for Roshni. But she was confused as to which one to select. So she called her.
Anji: hi bhabhi. Busy??
Rosh ( in phone): nahi. Bas nikalne wali hu. Kaha ho?
Anji: market. Ok sun. bohot ache chudi dekhi hai. kaunsi color chahiye apko?
Rosh: mujhe nahi chahiye Choti. Tum lelo.
Anji: are aise kyu nahi? Waise tip for the day- bhai ko choodiyan kaafi pasand hai.
Rosh was smiling and blushing. Well she already knew about it. but acted normal. "ha tho?"
Anji: tho?? Bhabhi aap ekdum budhu ho. Ek minute. (to the shopkeeper: kaka zara wo dikhana) ok. I got it. red color ke hai. bohot cute. Ok??
Rosh: ok. Your choice mam. Bas jaldi ghar aao.
Anji: athi hu na? (to the man: kithna hua? Ok? )
She opens her long shoulder-bag and takes her purse to pay him.
The man with the parcel moves to her direction. He knew the men behind him would catch him. But he couldn't afford to be caught with the packet. He saw an open bag on a girl's shoulder. He pass to that side and gently puts the packet in her bag. The man hiding notices it and also the girl.
The man is caught soon by the police. Anji watches it in horror, pays the shopkeeper and takes a taxi to home. The man hiding follows her in another taxi.
She reaches home and almost by the same time Roshni too. The man who followed her locates the home. At first he is surprised. And then happy. "wah... kya kismet hai?? ACP Rawte ka ghar??" he had a plan of action.
The man caught, Danish was tortured in the cell of Anti-Narcotic cell. "bol, wo packet kaha hai? kaun kaun hai there group me? Bol!!" he was slapping Danish. But he was keeping silent.

Anji showed the bangles to Roshni. She loved it. she knew Arjun would love it, and the thought made her to blush. Anji caught her . "oye hoye...dekho kaise laal laal hogaye hai?? haye kaash bhai yaha hothe!!"
Roshni runs behind Choti and catch her. They laugh nonstop.
bhabi nanad ek pyara rishta..
bhabi matlab maa aur nanad matlab behen..
zaruri tho nahi ki khoon ke rishte hi bade ho..
kabi kabi khoon se zyada man ke rishte gehre hote hai..

At last Choti goes to change her dress while Roshni to the kitchen.
After the bath and changing Choti notices that her phone was still in the bag. While taking it out a packet falls down. She takes it and notices it. "Drugs?? Hey bhagwan ye kaha se aaya? Mere bag mien??"
She was shocked as hell. "ab kya karu? Bhai bhi yaha nahi. Kaha jau?"
Roshni had set the table ready and called Choti. But she didn't respond so she goes to her room. Choti was sitting on the bed lost. One look at her face made Roshni realize something was off. "kya hua Choti?" she asked touching the shoulder. Choti was so pale. She looked blankly at Roshni. "kya hua?"
Choti points a packet on her bed. Roshni takes it and examines. It struck her. "Drugs?? Par yaha kaise?"
"patha nahi bhabhi. I swear I don't know. Ye meri bag me thi. Patha nahi kaise. Ab kya karu? Bhai ko bulau?"
"nahi, unhe call nahi kar sakthe. How about inspector Avinash?"
"nahi bhabhi, me sirf bhai se hi baath karungi. Aur kisise nahi. Mujhe dar lag raha hai. I promise mujhe iske bare mien kuch nahi patha hai" she sobs. Roshni hugs her. "patha hai Choti. Ok daro math. Kal sabere Pappa ajeyaga. Unse baath karthe hai. ok? Ab daro math"
She notices Choti looking frightened at the bag and packet. Roshni takes the packet and puts in the bag. "ye meri room me hogi. Ok? Ab aao. Khana khao"
She takes her out to the table while putting the bag in her cupboard.

Shravan the man who was hiding and followed Anji went near to the police station. He bribed a policeman to take a chit to Danish. The policeman takes it to him.
"bas ye kehna ke wo packet ek ladki ke bag me hai... hamare group member... aur ye patha do...baki me dektha hu..."
There was an address below. The questioning resumed in the Saturday morning. And he told as he was asked to.
Choti was too tensed. Their parents were almost stuck somewhere and would only reach by 10 am. Roshni was trying hard to cheer her up.
Just after breakfast someone rang the doorbell. Roshni opened it and saw a bunch of police officers. They showed a warrant and started searching. Anji and Roshni was too scared. At the end a policelady came with a bag from Roshni's room and showed the drug packet.
Police: ye bag kiska hai?
Choti looked at Roshni frightened.
Rosh: meri hai.
Police: aur ye drugs ke packet isme kya kar rahi hai?
Rosh: patha nahi sir.
Police: koi baath nahi. Hum patha lagayenge. Ab chaliye hamare saath.
Choti: sir please bhabhi ko math lejayiya. Papa abhi athe hi hoge.
Police: we know what to do. For the time being (looks at Roshni) you are under arrest.
