Chapter One

When he returned home at 11PM, nearly midnight, he again saw the table for food and it was empty again. He searched the kitchen but no one was there, he for the first time went to her room, it was a sad room of a sad young girl, the room had faded walls, colorless bed sheets, the room was neat and tidy though but still lifeless. The room was cold and the emptiness was eating him. He rushed outside just to hear the landline phone ring and a cruel laugh was echoing in his ears the next second, Arjun can never forget this laugh, it was Sikandar. And then a familiar heart wrenching scream, "Riya!!" screamed Arjun and the line went dead. Suddenly the only colorful thing in his life, the only butterfly was snatched away from him. That day he realized, what he has done. But maybe, maybe it was . . . . Too late.

Arjun was numb hearing the same scream he was haunted by from last few months; it was Riya's scream. The same horrible and terrified sound of her voice, which was telling him that, she is in danger. Arjun moved towards the phone again, mentally telling himself that he needs to do something, but his heart, maybe it stopped working. He exhaled the breath he didn't notice he was holding and picked up the phone, ready to hear the same familiar scream, but nothing. The line was clear and the empty dialer tone was beeping. Arjun picked the gun he kept on the dining table and shoved it inside his back-waist and ran out to find her.

He knew she usually talked to a small boy, Amit. He was the watchman's son. Amit usually came home when he was not there, maybe he feared him too, just like Riya. And why wouldn't she, after all she was the one to see the most horrible sight of him, the sight of a monster inside him.

~~~Flashback~~~

(From now on, part written in italic will be the flashbacks. The story will be going on in two formats, the simple letters will be the "Present" track and italic letters will be the "past (flashbacks)" I hope its not confusing, if it is, please ask me, I will explain.)

After a week of their marriage. Arjun came home after a very long day, he chased a criminal throughout the week and today he slipped out. He interrogated his friend for 2 hours but he too was so head strong to not spill the beans of his whereabouts.

Arjun came in and Riya was jolted off the sofa and ran inside the kitchen to serve him food. Arjun freshened up and came outside to have dinner when he saw Riya in a very eye appealing avatar, maybe she got ready to get noticed by him, coz if she did, it was working. Riya dressed in a white and sky blue top and dark blue jeans came out with food in her hands and served him with a smile. Arjun was attracted to her from the very first day too. He was having hard time controlling his desires when she was in casuals but now when she was dressed to kill, he couldn't hold it.

As soon as Riya came with the plate of food, he got up and left for the bedroom. Riya saw his foul mood and followed him.

"What happened?" came her soft voice from behind.

Arjun closed his eyes controlling his heart that skipped a beat at the love dripping voice of hers. He didn't reply and just went inside the room. Riya too followed him and went to their room (which is their room till now coz Arjun didn't ask her yet to leave). Riya saw him taking out the suitcase and packing her stuff in.

"Are we going somewhere?!" came Riya's hopeful voice, and Riya thought 'maybe he was taking me out on honeymoon!

"You are not living here anymore!" came Arjun's harsh and dead reply.

All emotions drained out of her face, she became scared. Is he leaving me!? What have I done wrong? Where will I go in this night! How will my family react! All these thoughts ran in her mind in a split second, but she came out of them, hearing his voice.

"From now on, you are living in the other room. I can't bear to see your face every day and night!" said Arjun and closed her suitcase and dumped it in the room besides his.

"But- but- what have I done?" came her question between her sobs.

"I just don't need to answer you anything! I don't want you in front of me every time. THAT IS IT!!" Arjun for the first time was talking to her in a week and that too just to tell her to get out! He screamed at her and she flinched back. He closed the door of her new room and went outside banging it loudly. She again flinched and dropped on the ground and sobbed to sleep.

In the morning Arjun woke up and thought maybe last night's behavior would keep her away from him now. He got up from the bed and got ready to leave, just when he opened the door of his room to go out he saw Riya decorating the dining table again! She heard his footsteps and turned smiling at him. DAMN THIS GIRL!

She looked at him and gestured him to come and have his breakfast as he didn't had his food last night also. Her eyes still sparkling with hope. But he just ignored her and went out for office.

Riya was heart broken but she knew he couldn't be angry with her for long. She will again try when he returns back home and this time she would be dressed as his bride! May be that will make him happy.

It was 8 PM when Riya prepared his favorite dish and got ready to welcome him, but he didn't come. It became 10 PM and still no news of him. She dialed his number from the landline phone and it rang but he didn't pick up. She then dialed his office number and the receiver told her that Arjun and his ETF team was busy in a meeting. Riya was satisfied hearing he was safe and sound in his office. When he didn't come for another 2 hours, till 12 in the midnight, she again dialed his office number and the receiver told the same thing again.

Riya nearly heartbroken again waited and waited for his arrival and he came! At last! Riya saw the clock and it was 3AM in the morning! Never mind, he came at least! Riya consoled herself and ran in to bring the food. Arjun saw her still wide awake, waiting for him till 3 in the morning and that too dressed in a red saree! He did not sit to eat but just waited for her to come out. She again with her brimming smile welcomed him and kept the hot served food for him.

"How was the day, Arjun?" came her sweet voice piercing his ears.

When is this girl going to loose hope! Thought Arjun and clenched his fist, trying to control his overwhelming desires for her.

"I don't want to eat." He told her coldly and started off towards his room.

"But why?" asked Riya fed up of his indifference, Arjun stopped in his tracks and turned to her, seeing him she said,"what have I done wrong, at least tell me. I wont repeat it if I hurted you in the process."

"I DON'T WANT TO HEAR YOUR VOICE! I told you, dint I?" Arjun screamed, suppressing his desires.

Riya dropped the plate in the middle and flinched back. She hit the wall behind the table and Arjun was somewhere happy to see her scared. He moved towards her with eyes spitting fire.

"YOU! You wont even take my name from your mouth! You will call me SIR! Just SIR! Got it!!" Arjun moved towards her and she nodded furiously as she was hell scared and Arjun moved towards her more.

"di-did I- did I do anything wrong?" came Riya's broken voice, she barely managed to suppress her sobs.

"I don't care!" he said eyeing her rosy lips and she trembled at the predatory gaze.

"I am so-sorry if I-" Riya couldn't complete her sentence as his lips found hers for the first time. Riya sobbed on his lips and he started kissing her. Riya although very much scared tried pushing him but he was not budging anywhere, he deepened the kiss as punishment of her pushing him. He bit her and she sobbed again. She gasped as she felt his tongue touch hers and she held on to him more. As soon as he felt her holding him, left her and ran his hands in his hairs.

Riya looked at him scared and he looked at her again. The hunger still evident in his eyes. "Next time, you wont be able to stop me!" saying so he left for his room.

The last sentence sent down a chill in her spine and she dropped down on the chair, sitting on it and crying. Her first kiss, it should have been out of love but it was ruined by anger. Why? Why was this happening to her?

Arjun went on to search for the small boy Amit but he was gone. It was midnight, why would a boy be here? He asked the watchman where his son was and he told Arjun that he might come in the morning. Arjun then asked him about Riya and watchman told him that last night he saw her going out around 8, watchman asked her where she was going and Riya told him that she is just going to the nearby road's fruit stall, as Arjun ate fruits in the breakfast and she forgot to buy them today. The watchman offered to accompany her as she was a really good lady helping his son in studding. But she said she would manage. And then after 8, his shift was changed and he didn't see her after that.

Arjun was sure Sikandar might have kidnapped her from the road. Coz it was impossible to enter the building without being recognized, as many police officers and army people lived there. If he dared to enter the building he would have been arrested for sure. Arjun felt more miserable coz she went out to buy fruits for HIM, and he, he never even recognized her efforts. It was him who was responsible for everything.

Arjun then called off his ETF team to take the charge of this personal case. Soon Rathore and Shree arrived and Chotu too came in an hour. He told them that she was missing from the night but he didn't notice it, as he was too foolish to not to check upon her. He by the way hid his marriage problems and made an excuse to why they were sleeping in different rooms.

(Flashback)

Riya woke up from the chair and found out the time to be 10 AM! She quickly went inside his room to find it empty. Maybe he left.

She went to the living room and called his office, the receiver told her that Arjun had arrived 3 hours ago and that he asked to not to transfer any calls to him, as he was busy. Riya closed her eyes in satisfaction, as she always feared his well-being. He was an honest officer and this was the biggest threat to his life. She prayed to keep him safe and moved to her room to get ready and do some house chores.

Riya was doing some work when she heard the doorbell ring; she knew it would be amit, 12-year-old boy who wasn't going to school. He studied in a free primary school but his family didn't have money to make him study further in a paid school. When she came to know about this, she offered him help and asked his family if he could study with her. The watchman was more than happy and hence she started taking free classes of him, teaching him the basics of English, and Mathematics. This way she could easily pass her time with him, Or else sitting in the empty house for whole day was disastrous.

Riya told Arjun about him and promised that amit wont be a hindrance, as she will make sure he comes when he is not home and leaves before he arrives. Arjun didn't say anything but this gesture of hers, touched his heart. She was feeling for the person who was not even related to her by any means. Then how much would she love her dear ones? Arjun sighed and granted her the permission to give classes to amit. And amit in return would help her in house chores too. He would pick up the groceries for her and would help her even to decorate the house sometimes. It was only amit who would help her loneliness subside. And as a thank you gift for herself, Riya asked a favor from the building's watchman, he would ring up her landline number when Arjun would arrive so that she comes to know that he is here and makes the food ready. And the watchman agreed.

Arjun came home after his work hours finished and found Riya sleeping on the sofa. Maybe she was tired. Arjun without waking her up started to go to the kitchen but his footsteps made her awake and she gasped seeing him here already. Didn't she even hear the miss call of the watchman?

She started to go inside the kitchen and Arjun stopped her.

"You don't need to do it." He said emotionlessly.

"But why?" asked Riya as she very well knew it was worthless to ask as he wont answer.

"I said YOU. DON'T. NEED. TO. DO. IT!" Arjun said in an intimidating tone but Riya was now angry herself. Why this Indifference!! and why was he so harsh on her!!

Gulping down her fear she dared to ask, "why? Tell me one good reason why I shouldn't! I am your wife! I have all rights to make you food and make sure you eat it!" she said as her breath was uneven and her heartbeats faster then usual.

"Rights huh?" Arjun said and moved towards her.

Riya moved back scared and Arjun moved forward and grabbed her, "let me show my rights then!" saying so he again kissed her. His lips rough and cold on her soft ones. Soon her whole body was on fire. She tried getting of his hands but nothing helped, his grip tightened and he pulled her inside her own room. He closed the door and pushed her on it. Riya was flabbergasted and scared. He soon attacked her lips again, brutally biting and sucking on them.

Soon he broke the kiss and pushed her on bed. Riya moved back a bit but he held her hands and pinned them on the mattress, making her immobile. Riya knew she is in grave problem and tried wriggling. But nothing seemed to work.

Arjun eyed her neck and her white sparkly skin invited him to taste it. He placed an open mouthed kiss and Riya gasped. Hearing her response Arjun got mad and the monster he had been holding till now reached his eyes and unleashed himself in him.

"Leave me, sir! AAH!!" Riya screamed but her voice unreachable to his ears.

Soon a tearing sound was heard and she knew it was her top. And then she felt sharp teeth on her neck biting her brutally. Another scream made its way from her throat but nothing seemed to stop. Riya struggled to get away but he pinned her on the bed, the soft bed sheets scaring her even more. Soon she became immobile as the unconsciousness engulfed her. She was just too horrified to feel anything else.

He bit her neck and placed some soft kisses to sooth it but she had now stopped struggling, he looked at her face, it was so serene and innocent that he regretted instantly. What the hell was wrong with him? How can he do this?

Even though she was not in her senses, her sobs were evident of the cruelty she had undergone. Her face red with fear, eyelids swollen by crying, red finger marks on her wrists and a bleeding bite on her neck. Arjun closed his eyes, as now he too became the one he hated the most! A criminal. And that too hers! His constant warnings to her to stay away were in vain now. He quickly covered her with a blanket, not able to see his own cruelty on her. (NO he didn't rape her. he stopped instantly when he felt her not moving and covered her soon. He didn't move any further after that.)

As the whole ETF was searching her, Arjun was hell scared as to which part of the city she would be in. this was the reason he didn't wanted to get married! This was the MAIN reason. He knew his enemies would target his weak points. And he may admit it or not, Riya was, is and will always be his weak point.

PRECAP: Arjun's phone rings and Shree indicates him to pick it up after pressing the tap button and Arjun picks, "hello."

"Sir, Ar-Arjun sir-" Came Riya's drugged voice from the other end.
