CHAPTER 18
"Nanheji, you here?" Khushi exclaimed, happy at seeing him.
Even the kids seemed excited. "Nanhe Uncle!!
NK looked highly uncomfortable as the entire family stared at him in shock. Akash who had just walked in saw NK and grasped the situation. He had to do something. Pretending to be oblivious to his family, he said to NK. "NK bhai? How come..." he said.
NK just looked helpleslessly at Akash.
Arnav's shocked voice found itself. "NK, how did you-"
NK hastily looked at Nani. "I have to leave ... I am getting late." He said, and walked towards the exit nodding to Khushi once, who was feeling utterly confuse and ignoring Arnav who was equally confused.
"Nanheji...?" Khushi trailed off, while Payal tugged at her hand, muttering "Chal Khushi..."
Payal looked at Akash, who took the lead. "Arey Khushiji, come. I will show you to your room." He said, and the trio along with the kids went upstairs, leaving a highly puzzled family downstairs.
To say Arnav was upset would be an understatement. How had she remembered NK and not him? And his kids? Even they seemed to know him. There was a very important detail he must have missed out. And he knew Payal and Akash knew exactly what was going on...Definitely something wrong!
Outside, NK was equally disturbed. What was he going to do? Now there were so many questions he would have to face. Would Khushiji be okay with those revelations? Frustrated, he took out his phone and made a call, waiting impatiently for his call to be recieved.
"Hey Nandu! Whatup!" her voice floated through the phone.
"Hey babe! Missed you so much!"
"Aw me too sweetheart! So how did it go?"
"Fine, but..."
"But what Nandu? Is everything okay?"
"Look, I will explain everything. But come here ASAP please?" he plead.
"Okay. I will catch the next flight okay? See you tomorrow! Hold on till then!"
Khushi was in her room, and the rest of the family was downstairs. There seemed to be some life in the house now, as everyone watched amusedly Arshi and Navi fight for the remote of the TV. "Navi, I need to see Winx Club NOW!"
"My darling sister, it is time for my Baakugaan so please let me be!" Navi said, looking focussedly at the TV.
"Monkey brother" Arshi muttered. "Papa will be angry with you!" she said suddenly and realized what she had said, as Navi turned around to look at he annoyedly. "What Papa, how do you know? He left us!"
"H-He well, I-I just know okay? Right now, he loves both of us Navi!"
Navi snorted. "Whatever."
Arshi stuck her tongue out at him and left to find her Mom.
Just then, the doorbell rang. HP opened the door, to see a man standing in front of them. Anjali who was passing by saw HP at the door. "Who is it HP?" She had walked over to the door
by then. She saw a man ostanding there and as soon as he looked at Anjali, he smiled a little unsurely and said, "Namastey. I am Anand. Anand Kapoor. Is Khushi here?"
Anjali frowned for a moment and then smiled when she heard him say he was Khushi's brother. "Please come in" she said smiling, leading Anand inside.
As Anjali went in, she called out to Khushi. "Khushiji! Your brother is here!"
The was the click of a door opening, followed by tinkling of anklets. Khushi flew downstairs. "Bhaiyya!" she said and ran to hug him.
Arshi and Navi ran to their Mamu, and Anjali smiled as she watched Anand envelope Khushi, Arshi and Navi in his embrace.
Soon, the introductions were given, and Anand couldn't help but notice the love this family showered on his little sister. He respected the Raizadas, as he remembered they wer Ratna Aunty's family, but still felt cautious about Arnav. All of them settled in the hall.
"Bhai, do I get you something?" he heard Payal ask.
Anand smiled. Payal was like his little sister, and he loved Payal as his own. He was forever grateful to Payal for being there for Khushi in his absence.
"No Payal, I am fine."
He sat on the sofa with the Raizadas, chitchatting with them as Arshi, Navi and Little Khushi played in one corner of the house.
They were interrupted by a loud childish voice. "Arshi, I said NO!" Navi was ordering his twin, who was whining for something.
Anjali and Khushi reache them at the same time. "Arey, why are you shouting at her Navi?" Khushi aked sternly.
"Mom, she already had so many chocolates! There are more stuffed in her pocket! She will fall ill!" he said, superiorly.
Arshi looked down sheepishly. Anjali laughed, while Khushi turned to Arshi. "Beta, Navi is right. Now come on, give me the chocolates..."
Anjali smiled at the twins; Navi was the over-protective brother, like Chhote. And Arshi had a sweet tooth, like Khushiji. She so wished everything would be alright soon. Edited by Dynamix215 - 12 years ago
