Hallo guys , first of all a big sorry for not updating for a long time

I was busy concentrating on my other ss the second shadow

So now I am taking a break from updating that and concentrating on this ff

Do read it and tell me if I need to continue or not

Chapter 4

Uday sat outside the ICU. He was pondering on what rahul had said. He needed money, that too immediately for his father's treatment. The sum was too much for him to bear alone. His father needed immediate surgery to save his life. He needed a job, hopefully if he got a job in devgarh group of companies he could arrange the cash needed for the treatment.

But devgarh group of companies was owned by manyata, his classmate and his worst enemy. She made sure his life in college was a living hell, there was never a day he was not bullied by her gang because of his middle class status. But uday being a man with self respect fought those taunts bravely . towards the end of the year he had become very popular among his classmates

But manyata was a problem. Every time he kept quiet she started to rule him, he suffered everything as she was its owner.he did not want to create an issue that would result surely in his expulsion, if manyata was on the other side.

It was a post of a PA , maybe it could be for anyone in that company, surely not manyata. She would have a female assistant for sure. Yes he should go and attend the interview for his fathers sake , for his family's sake

NEXT DAY

Uday visited his father in the ICU and took his blessings

b: beta, you will sure get this job, go now my blessings are always with you

U: thank you baba, I will come ssoon after my interview

B: beta I know what your thinking, don't worry about her as long as you are confident you would be able to survive in that place you need not worry

U: yes baba, your right I will not allow her to rule me any more, maybe if am lucky I may not have to see her at all. She is the CEO of that company and if appointed I will be a PA for any manager or someone else, so I don't need to bother about her

B: beta, my blessing are always with you

Uday was being interviewed by a mr Shankar , the senior most official of that company, he was a very strict fellow

S: your resume looks very interesting mr uday, its great that you are a gold medalist from the Mumbai university

U: thank you sir

S: but don't you think that for your qualification this job is very trivial

U: no sir, ever job has its own dignity, I want this job as my father is admitted in the ICU he need an operation soon to save his life, so I need a job to save his life

S: oh I see, if you are appointed in this company the company will pay half of the cost that is our company's policy

U: ok sir

S: uday you're the best among all those people who came today, however the final decision lies with the person under whom you will work as PA so now you go and meet that person. Fourth door to the right

U: thank you so much sir

Uday was happy . if he could impress mr shanker he could impress anybody. Now one more stage, he straightened his tie and confidently knocked the door

"come in " said a voice. A felling of forbearing came in udays mind

Please let it not be manyata , please

He entered the room and saw a person sitting on a revolving chair, her back faced him

He cleared his throat and said

"excuse me mam"

That voice shook manyata from her thoughts

She knew that voice and could recognize that voice from any where . a smile appeared on her lips

Uday she thought , finally he came to me for a job

She turned to face him, the smile was gone from her face. She looked business type.

She wore a lemon yellow frock that reached her knees

Uday searched for a sign of recognition on her face, there was none

M: yes?🤔

Uday quickly changed his attitude, he too acted as if he was seeing her the first time

U: man shanker sir sent me to meet you. These are my qualifications

M: oh for the post of PA

U: yes

She takes that file and studies it

M: do you have any experience?

U: no but I am a fast learner (he thought "as if she does not know about it . we both graduated at the same time")

Manyata could not resist taunting him😈

M: I am not interested in appointing people without experience, don't you too fell the same u-d-a-y (stressing each letter looking directly at him)

Uday was thinking" control uday control, she is just provoking you , she is finding reasons to put you put don't lose control uday"

Uday kept silent

Manyata continued: these middle class people, they always like to be given charity, no shame for them

Even in college and even in an office. It shows their culture

I don't like those sorts of people. They are like beggars

Aren't you too a middle class person. Udayveer, does not your'.

U: manyata I am not'

M:(cutting him in between)excuse me mister I am no longer your classmate , iam your boss call me mam

Uday could not control any longer, he was boiling. his self respect was being questioned by this bit*h

He wanted to say something nasty at her but the image of his father lying in the hospital bed made him silent

M: uday finally the day has come when you have come for a job that too in my office, now beg for my mercy and I will consider appointing you as my pa, but is it not ironic that the first rank holder is now begging for a job

You will beg even your father will do the same, that is the power of money

Uday just could not stand any more of her insults, he could never forgive her for insulting his father

U: enough, take your money and go to hell, it is the best place for people like you

I don't want this job or your mercy. Am a man with self respect even if I have to beg on the street I don't want this job.and manyata having money in your pocket does not mean that you can have anything in the world, go get a life first, take your frustration elsewhere and not on me.

Saying this he took his file and left the room banging the door behind him
