Arnav was happy. And he was happily walking to his room when he noticed Shyam, and fire was on again... He walked towards him
Shyam saw Khushi coming out of the bathroom, and drying her hair. Smirking, he began entering, when he felt someone roughly pulling him back. "Agar mujhe sahi tarah se yaad ho, toh maine shayad aapse kaha tha, JIJAJI, ki meri patni ke aas paas bhatakne ki KOSHISH bhi mat karna..."
"Woh, Saale Saab...Hum..." He stuttered. Arnav pinned Shyam to the wall. "Ab tumhara koi khel nahi chalega SHYAM MANOHAR JHA... Dekhte raho kya hota hai..." Arnav smirked confidently, tightening his grip on Shyam's collar. Shyam began coughing.
Arnav remained oblivious to Shyam's discomfort. "LOOK OUT FOR YOURSELF SHYAM!" Arnav said. Shyam flinched lightly.
Arnav was amused. "You know, if I want I can have you killed and still ensure nothing wrong is against my name. I feel tempted to strangle you right now, but for all that you have done... I would love to watch you getting tortured."
With the same smirk, he let go of Shyam's collar, and walked into the bedroom and closed the door on Shyam's face.
As soon as he walked in, he felt two warm hands wrap around his waist. "Shukriya," Khushi whispered.
-The next day-
Arnav woke up, and found Khushi wrapped up in his arms, her head resting on his shoulder. He heard a knock on the door, "Chhotey?"
"Yeah Di..." he said, not getting up.
Anjali peeped in and saw the two of them entwined. She looked at Khushi's innocent, sleeping face. "She has gone through so much..." Anjali whispered. Arnav felt that wave of guilt again. "I know Di...It's all my fault." He gently laid Khushi on the floor, and looked at Anjali.
Anjali looked at him sadly. "You know Chhotey, I really want to tell you that don't blame yourself...But fact is, you should have kept your temper in check...Heard her out... ASK her... I told you before that someday, you will do something you will regret in your anger..." she said softly.
Arnav knew she was right. "Yeah Di. So, you needed something?"
"Yes. Chhotey, I need to meet someone today..." She told him all about Kamlaji. "Now the problem is how do we know FOR SURE that the money that had been taken the other day from me was for Khushiji?" she asked.
Arnav smirked. "Simple." He called up someone. "Hello? I need to find out a small piece of info... yes, this is Arnav Singh Raizada... Woh mere Jijaji ne ek din ek simple si ring kharidi thi... Can I please know the cost? TOTAL cost including finishing and all...? Yes. Sure." He cut the phone and looked at Anjali.
"What'd he say?" Anjali asked.
"He said he would call soon...So what are your plans?"
"Well, I was thinking of meeting Kamlaji...We need to find out more about her... where she is... "
"Okay Di..." Arnav said, "We'll take Khushi with us...I don't want to leave her alone..." He told her what had happened with Shyam the other night.
Anjali was disgusted. "Alright then. Payal and Akash will set out to Laxmi Nagar to gather evidence from there."
Just then, Akash walked in. "Bhai, I-"
"Shh..." Anjali said, pointing to Khushi, still asleep. The trio walked out of the room.
"Yeah Akash?"
"Bhai, we are searching for proof and all...woh sab theek hai...But why can't we just get that creep arrested?! Woh kaagazaad hai na as proof? And Buaji and Payal as witnessess?"
Before Arnav could answer, Anjali spoke first, her eyes filled with fire. "No Akash. I know we can use the Raizada influence, but I want evidence for as many crimes as possible...SOLID evidences, so that he pays for EACH and EVERY one of his deeds..."
Arnav and Akash stared at her; they had never seen this malicious side of their sweet Di. Understanding their looks, Anjali laughed shakily. "Sorry, I got carried away. But I love my family too, and Chhotey, even I would do anything for my family's happiness..." Anjali said.
The three siblings hugged, not noticing Khushi smiling with tear filled eyes from the bedroom.
-That Night-
Arnav watched as Khushi settled onto the bed, and saw a ripped off corner of a blue comforter. He remembered this...he had asked her to sleep outside.
"Khushi?" he called.
"Hm?"
"Let us sleep out today?" he said.
"What, why?" she asked surprised.
"I made you sleep out and-"
"Offo! Arnavji, forget about it. I am used to sleeping on the floor, so it's ok for me. You remember the day you slept out? Your neck went awkward!"
He said nothing. He took his pillow and comforter and marched out. Khushi stared at him. He was impossible! Laad Governor Kahinke... Well, she was not going to let him sleep out alone...
She took her pillow and joind him out. Both lay there for sometime, looking out at the stars. "Khushi, when you said that you'd become a star at the hospital, I-"
"I know. You felt as much hurt at the thought of my death as the relief I had felt when you were alive..."
Arnav kissed her forehead, and both fell asleep in each others arms, and to Arnav's delight, Khushi was not restless in his arms, and slept like a log throughout the night. For quite sometime, Arnav stared at her sleeping face, wondering how he could have doubted her innocence. He took her hand and kissed it...He could feel the slits the glass had cut through her wrist. He kissed the scars and whispered a 'sorry' into her ear, and fell asleep.
