PART 10

Just after the mitwaa sequence, when swayam tells rey that taani as his ags is his weakpoint- he stops and thinks but No...his feelings towards her even then hasn't come to a stage of oh i love her its still based on a lot of gratitude for her quiet support. If he had any other feelings then, he could have never met swayams eye so easily.

What did rey want to do in the assembly? Clear taani s name? Or his own? Nope, he wanted to reaasure the ppl who voted for him that he hasn't overnight c hanged . he s going to face his supporters to clear it with them. but unfortunately for him , the issue has become so much personalised that theres very little that he can do to convince anyone.

And taani again takes it on herself to keep rey s image clean. takes responsibility for rey. Stupid yes- but ppl in love do stupider things . Rey s expressions when taani tells the crowd that they can never be together- she s repeating his own lines- and that she s with someone else are like- you don't have to do this for me. Don't say such things now that im actually beginning to be happy again. He clearly knows that shes lying so that this whole nonsense stops and whats imp to rey- his being a GS / his image is maintained.

But then bombshell- shivam. Why doesn't rey trust taani s feelings rather why did rey believe what shivam said ? taani has taken so much care , she has confessed her feelings but still rey believes that she could be with shivam? why didn't he ask her directly ? even if he wasn't romantically inclined towards her, he could find out how she changed so suddenly.

Reys like that i guess- his possessive nature competes with his broadmindedness.

Everybody moves on, taani has moved on to shivam who has always been sweet with her. Not like me ive been rude and mean and shouting at her forever. But wt h i was protecting her from him all along! also I guess its easy for him to believe that someone doesn't want him rather than believe that someone wants him. kriya didn't want me, taani also doesn't.

swayam saying that taani has a right to decide on her own life only irritates him further into realising that he has no official right over her. who is he to her? does he remember then she is swayams sister? No hes forgotten it, i suppose.

And the jealousy erupts . Seriously let her be with whom she wants. Shivam really?

But he s still not totally sure of his own feelings- mujhe koi farak nahin padtha .Jealous rey- one which we all liked. so what if i refused?

Just when he was beginning to feel mera bhi koi hain jo sirf aur sirf mere baare mein pehle sochtha hain. ...Aur wo bhi shivam!?

EGO BUBBLE phus burst. he no longer hides his resentment from himself . And being a guy, either its angry reaction in the form of taunts or trying to intimidate taani physically or both.he s rude to her, angry with her and loses no opportunity to put her down, taunt her about shivam or scold her and keep making all those mahaan dialogues which can mean anything. Now that her attention is apparently divided to a boyfriend , he wants it back. She takes all his varied moods in her stride irritating him further, she isn't even letting him find faults with her.

But rey is inherently a decent guy- his ego hurt doesn't make him blind to the fact that she is upset. Or atleast she isn't immune to his scoldings, taunts. He s noticing the expressions , the feelings mirrored in them, the feelings hidden, the smile which is missing, the bubbliness which has totally disappeared but that shirriating shivam which is ever present.

He doesn't like the fact that shes having so much effect on him but he cant stand it if she isn't around to take care . can we ever forget the sweetest banter ---snapping session on earth.Im taking care of u and try stopping me if u can. So sweet! I cant be objective and analyse this scene, it just puts a stupid sa smile on my face.

To reys credit, he doesn't give in easily this time though he does shut up and lets her do the dressing , he tries to maintain his stand however unsuccessfully ! he cant help being under her control for whatever little while . He has understood the potential behind her meekness . She s not weak merely gentle. but he has the last word- there are some wounds which don't heal chahe tum kuch bhi karlo

One of the mahaan dialogues – if i was a kriyaansh fan i would jump and say dekha hes talking of kriya. If i was a tarey fan i would jump and say dekha hes talking of his hurt at taani and shivam. Ummm, as a rey fan , i would say it was both- jo bhi ladki ko main pasand kartha hoon use koi aur pasand aajaatha hain---- rey to Sharon. He was saying perhaps that as a continuation of his another mahaan dialogue- zakhm bharna kaun chahtha hain

Hes hurt, heartbroken and before his heart can mend, its breaking again. Is it that hes making mistakes in recognising his girls?

(Or for all u know, it could mean nothing and the dialogue writers just put it in to get stupids like me to lose their sleep over it)😃

Rey has also been accused of being physically attracted to taani like its a crime. i for one am glad if thats the case but she has been falling over him, under him and getting in his way, tripping over his shoes and legs atleast a million times before she confessed to him. he didn't bat an eyelid then. He danced and taught her dance and inspite of taanis oogling at him , he didn't seem to ve noticed. So, When did this rey- taani physical intimacy stuff start? The monsoon special.

i don't consider the monsoon episodes as being part of the serial as they were extremely out of place but yes if we consider those, they become the starting point for rey thinking of taani. Or taani s back ... . Coming to the tip tip barsa paani dance, Cheap stuff wasn't it called?...i didn't like the dance as such but its been used as a benchmark to hate rey and dub reys love as lust, vulgar etc., i disagree with that. For all that the answer is Hayee rama sequence of kriya and rey which was also a dream sequence of rey . it spelt out rey s dreams far more than tip tip and it wasn't a standalone episode. If this was lust so was that, if that was love so was this. Either ways ' what was wrong?

Rey was the guy who closed his eyes while tieing kriya s dori, gave her jacket when her dress tore and now, thanks to this taani he s shamelessly staring at her back all the time if not doing something else like almost kissing her.

Rey is an extremely sensible guy-he fell for kriya when he saw her dance and then pour water over her face! Wouldnt it be very appropriate to call that physical attraction? No , bcoz through the dance, he also saw kriya s attitude, her personality expressed- he was so attracted not just to her person.

kriya would ve burned anyone who had the guts to come near her without permission. tho kya t um kisiko bhi apne choli ke dori baandne dethi? NO answer....kriya doesn't answer . She needed the time that she took to let rey come close. Which is exactly what she says even when she confesses that rey is more than a friend to her. Yes, i haven't let anyone other than you come as close to me as you have. And he stays only as close as she would be comfortable with him. Rey knows what he has to struggle to tell her in words is easily conveyed in a dance- radha kaise na jale...In lamhon ke daaman mein...roop tera mastana ...his love for her, his attraction towards her, her importance in his life - everything. Even after their relationship takes off and rey asks for a kiss, kriya could give him the cute butterfly kiss- and hes happy with it. He laughs at her , with her and doesn't mind when he doesn't get a good night kiss from her.

And aisewaala decent rey is now staring at girls backs! Shameful!

He s respecting kriya and infact kriyas reactions to him is well defined only in the beautiful tujhko jo paaya dance , like its only in that sequence that she shows out her helplessness of being in love when she s actually telling him that she wants him to win, shes given herself and her aspirations a second place to rey which shows in the way she dances in tujhko jo paaya. till that dance, there are very few scenes ( not dances, scenes) where kriya is blushing or verbalising what she feels so comfortably . Rey is the same though .he understands its in kriya s nature- for her physical proximity is only through dance. Rey instinctively recognizes where the line is drawn and sticks to it.

With taani, there is no line really. Taani came in search of her prince charming and he was charming to her. her crush for a dancer turned to love for rey, She felt safe with him , she is just more comfortable physically with rey and rey responds accordingly. It doesn't mean that taani is physically comfortable with every guy around, she has pushed shivams hand too many times. With rey its different for her.. .She trusts him blindly, she feels she belongs to him. Rey has understood she relies on him , even when she has a boyfriend , he knows her concern for him hasn't diminished

As for rey s own feelings , he cant tell her what hes feeling, he cant dissect it out in his own brain itself and when she is close, he cant resist trying to convey what hes going through - his confusions melt at that time. Her feelings become his guide a lot of times.

Apart from this , when did he actually become aware of her physically? Dil se re but then it was kriya on his mind then, so no, that doesn't count. When when when...? When did he first LOOK at taani- more piya- after mitwaa- when she took care of his wounds. When did he get close to her?

when he wants to somehow tell her she s important- he holds her by the shoulders in swayams house. theres a small duration when hes awkward( masti ki paatshaala time) and his physical behaviour follows his changes in feelings for her. when hes angry with her/shivam- hes pushing her off from dressing his wound but when hes with her alone and no shivam to disturb his thoughts, he finds himself as attracted to her as a guy falling for a girl would be. Especially when he knows what she felt.

Post the food fight, Rey had no issue, no hesitation in cleaning the food off taani s back. He didnt ask for taani s permission bcoz he knew she wouldn't mind. Remember he had asked for kriya s permission to tie the dori?

If someone isn't grinning and blushing or getting angry while seeing the scene, its easy to see that he first only tries to make her feel comfortable by removing the food on her shoulder but its only a few seconds/ minutes/ ??? years later that he s conscious of actually touching her closely.

But u know even in that the immediate following scene ' when he cups her face , wipes her tears and apologises for being rude- mujhe pata nahin kya hojaatha hain- is more telling of his recurrent uncertainty and resentment. this time he wants to kiss to make things sure for himself. There are things understood between them which is unsaid. main samaj sakthi hoon.

he holds her again the next day when hes suspended and in the fire escape , he screams at her and she cries feeling guilty- his anger at the whole incident and VP which was directed to her disappears and without a thought he holds her again to console her . but the can I doubt comes up a moment later. The fight between she has a boyfriend means shes off limits vs wth, shes still here in front of me and i don't want to see her upset and crying.

Plus- do i know what im doing, feeling saying myself?

Rey is now definitely attracted to her 'to her as a whole - but to say that he fell for her back is...being blind .

btw, this is the last part of reys character analysis - his changes from kriya s exit from his life to taani s actual entry into his life is what i tried to capture.
