She refused to met his eyes as he stared at her intently, waiting for her answer.
He watched as she clutched her hands together again and again as she shifted uneasily in her seat.
Finally she looked at him, meeting his eyes.
"Okay."
He was momentarily shocked by her answer and that fact that she had given in so easily, but he didn't let it show for a split second.
"Good. Let's head upstairs. I've had a long day."
With that he stood up, gesturing for her to get up as well.
"This way." Arnav said, motioning for her to go before him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Khushi stepped into his suite as he held the door open for her. The sight in front of her left her stunned, it was beautiful.
Still in a daze, Khushi muttered a soft "Thanks" when he took her coat for her, and begun looking around the sweet.
"Khushi? I'm going to order room service, do you want anything to drink now?" His voice pulled her out of her daze.
"Umm, yea. Sure. Order something." She said with a smile before looking at the suite again.
She heard him speak to someone over the phone, "Room Service? Yes, I would like a bottle of your best champagne along with today's special dish... Um... Khushi would you like anything?"
"Um, I'll have some jalebis!"
"Jalebis?!" She watched him stare at her wide-eyed.
"Ah yeaa. I love sweets! Especially jalebis! You should try some you'll like it."
"Um, no thanks. I'd prefer some normal food."
"Okay, your loss." She said before walking off towards window wall, fascinated by the view.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Arnav went back to the call, "Uh, and one order of jalebis... If you don't have it then get it from somewhere. And make it fast."
He turned around to find Khushi taking in everything with her wide doe-like eyes.
"Seems like you've never seen a presidental suite before."
"Hmm?" Khushi looked up confused, then realized what he said, "Um, it's alright. I'll have an even bigger suite when I become a famous model one day."
"Oh really? How famous?"
"I'll be a world famous show stopper. Just watch, two years from now people will be begging me to be in their shows."
Before Arnav could open his mouth to reply the door bell buzzed. "Room service."
He walked to the door, letting the waiter in, ordering him to place the food one the table while grabbing the champagne bottle and two glasses before heading back to the couch opposite of where Khushi was sitting.
He popped off the cap of the bottle skillfully and filled two glasses, handing one to her.
"Cheers." He said before taking a sip of his champagne while watching Khushi sip hers, letting out a giggle.
Suddenly she looked up at him and asked, "So Mr. Raizada, what do you do?"
"Well, I buy companies and then I sell them off."
Khushi looked at him, genuinely interested, "So you came to India to buy companies?"
"Yes, I've come here to buy a pretty big company this time."
"So you buy companies for cheap prices and then sell them at higher prices? You know, like property deals?"
Arnav was impressed, she definitely wasn't one of those types. "Hm, very good. You seem to be pretty smart."
Khushi only giggled in response.
"But there's a slight difference, I buy those companies, who's owner don't know their true values and then I sell them for a much great profit."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"So you mean to say, if someone has a diamond but doesn't know it, you buy the diamond off of them and then sell it off for it's true value?" Khushi questioned, earning a smile and nod from him.
"So then that's deception." Khushi added.
"Look at it like this, I buy a diamond necklace and cut it into pieces and then sell those pieces off at a higher price." He scoffed at her.
"But... whenever something is broken into pieces, someone somewhere must get hurt." Khushi said in a soft voice, as if explaining something to a toddler.
Arnav looked confused, momentarily thrown off before he replied, "Well, I care about the profit, not someone's pain."
Khushi sighed, looking away but then looked right at him again and said, "You're pretty stone-hearted."
Arnav suddenly got up and walked away, muttering, "It's just business." Before picking up a file, carelessly flipping through it.
Khushi stood up as well, she felt bad, she shouldn't have said that. She came to stand behind him and said,
"Anyways forget that. Tell me how much you made on your last deal?" Putting some excitement into her voice.
"Around 500 million dollars." He replied without turning around.
Khushi stopped drinking her champagne, coughing slightly. "500 million dollars?!"
Her shrill voice caused him to turn around and look at her, eyebrows raised. Khuhsi quickly recovered herself.
"So what do you do with all this money?" Khushi asked incredulously.
"Money earns respect, Khushi." Arnav said a seriously, "Everyone and anything bows down before money and so in this world money is everything."
"No. I don't believe that money is everything." Khushi said just as seriously.
"Why not? There is nothing more powerful than money in this world. You can buy anything you want with money." Arnav stared at her unbelievingly.
"Hmm, I don't know much, Mr. Raizada. But I do know one thing you can never buy with money." Khushi said challengingly.
"Oh yea? What?" He challenged right back.
"Love." She answered simply.
