Chapter 9: STRANGE ENCOUNTER
Riddihma, Geet and Khushi reached the hospital...Khushi always felt better after she went out with Riddihma and Geet...
R: So when you both will be finished with your duty??
G: I need to do my rounds which will take an hour...so I will be ready at 8...
K: Well I've done my rounds before bt I have to check on Mrs.Jha, coz Dr.Akash informed me tht she isnt't well and then I have to report Dr.Akash to discuss a new patient... I think it will take me 1 or 2 hours...I'll be ready at 8 or 9...
R: Ok Guys I just have to report Dr.Akash tht I'm leaving as I took off the last 2 hours coz mom said I should be at home when they come to see me...So I'll be heading to my home and you both come after your duty ok?
G: Ok...Khushi I will meet you in an hour again and then we will see how much time we need ok?
K: Yeah thts good...
R: Ok so done u both will be staying at my place today!!! Don't be too late coz I will eat everything and then you have to sleep with an empty stomach...she said hugging them and leaving frm there...
Geet yelled frm behind: NEVER...AUNTY LOVES US MORE AND SHE WILL SAVE THE FOOD FROM YOU; YOU FOODY...
Riddihma just struck her tongue and went frm there...Khushi smacked Geet's head...
K: Geet, why are you screaming don't you know tht now its resting time for the patients and here you are screaming on top of your lungs...she said in a sarcastic voice...
G: Ouch...wht? she asked while faking anger...
K: Ok Ok...now stop faking anger we will sort it out at home...now lets start with the duty otherwise we have to work longer...
G: Yeah..Yeah...she said while quickly hugging Khushi and leaving frm there..

Arnav reached the hospital and went direct into Anjali's room...
Anjali: Chotte you came??
Arnav: Yes Di...How do you feel?
Anjali: I'm feeling guud...she said while smiling...
Arnav: Bt Di, you are not at all looking guud...you are looking so pale...he said in a concerned voice while cupping her cheek...
Anjali: Chotte believe me I'm..she said while taking his hand in hers, bt was cut off by Mami...
Mami interrupted: No Arnav bituwa, she is not at all fine...She is throwing up frm the time you left...thts why she is so weak...
Arnav: WHAT??? he shouted...and looked concerned at his Di...
Nani: Arnav its ok, this is normal...she couldn't complete her sentence...
Arnav: No Nani, where the hell is this Dr.Khushi...he said through greethed teeth...
Anjali: Chotte relax...Akash was here, he gave me some tablets..He said tht when Dr,Khushi will be back she will check me coz she...
Arnav: Wht do you mean by when she will come..where the hell is she? Its her responsibillity to look after her patients and here she does not know tht her patient is not feeling well...I knew tht she is not a good Doctor...I don't know who hired her here, I will see to it tht she gets fired...he went on and on as he remembered her..
Anjali, Nani and Mami were really shocked to see how Arnav was talking and talking about Khushi without any break...Finally Anjali stopped him...
Anjali: Chotte whts wrong with you? Why are you talking so bad about her? she is such a good person and Akash told us tht she didn't had a single break frm the morning and coz of me she had to come on her free day to the hospital...she asked in a disappointed voice...
Arnav: How can I not Di...Just bcoz of an irresponsible doctor my Di has to wait for a treatment and who knows where and with whom she is...
Nani: Chotte...she said in a louder voice bt stopped as they saw Khushi standing in the door...
Khushi heard everything and was really hurt to hear wht Arnav said about her...bt she choose to hide her tears and act like she didn't heard anything...
K: Sorry if I have disturbed you, bt I came her to check if the tablets which I prescribed for you helped to stop your vomits? she asked Anjali...
Anjali was relieved tht Khushi didn't heard anything and smiled a bit...
K: Ok I know tht these tablets don't work immediately, they take some time bt..
Arnav: Dr.Gupta why didin't you gave my Di medicines which work immidiately..bcoz of your careless my Di has to suffer...
Anjali tried to stop Arnav by gesturing him with her eyes bt he didn't listened... He was about to say more and take out all his frustation bt she cut him off by ignoring his talks...
K: Mrs Jha, as I said tht they take time to work bt these were the most save tablets for you, other tablets could have dangerous side effects and harm your baby as you are in the first month of your pregnency and I don't want to take any risk for your or your babys health...And it will be normal tht you will throw up bt you have to go through... I'm sure tht for your baby your are strong enough to go through this...she said in a light and reassuring smile on her face..
Anjali: Yes I'm...she said with a bit hesitation looking at Arnav who clearly didn't liked her behaviour...
Mami wanted to change the topic and said the first thing which was in her mind: Dr.Khushi were is your Dupatta? she said and quickly bit her tongue as she didn't wanted to make her more uncomfortable...
At this Khushi put her hand on her neck and tried to remember where she lost it...Then it struck her tht it flew away bt she didn't cared as she wanted to go away...
Arnav also remembered how they looked at eachother and tht he had her dupatta, he was just hoping tht she didn't knew it...
K: Ehm...I think I..I forgot to wear it...she said while not meeting their eyes and trying to hide her exposed skin with her hands...
Arnav also tried not to look up at someone as he was afraid tht someone may come to know tht he had her dupatta...Bt he didn't know tht this act was so open tht Anjali even tried but couldn't look away...
Anjali: Wht is happening?? Did I miss something?? My Chotte is trying to hide something bt wht could it be?? Maybe he knows about Khushiji's Dupatta...Anjali wht are you thinking tht your Chotte, the great ASR will know where Khushiji's Dupatta is...Anyway I can try it...she said while hoping tht she could confirm her confusion...
Nani: Oh its ok...It happens...Anyway thank you so much for coming again and checking Anjali Bitiya...she said lovingly...
K: Its ok...I may leave now...she said and quickly left frm there as she couldn't stand there anymore...
Arnav just looked at her back while Khushi quickly went frm there...
Anjali saw how he was looking at her:
Chotte..she said in a low voice...
Arnav: Yes Di...he said still absent mind and looking behind her...
Anjali: Chotte do you know where Khushiji's Dupatta is...she said in light voice trying not to disturb his thoughts...
Arnav: Yes Di, I have...he stopped as he saw Khushi turning around for a sec bt she quickly turned back as she saw him looking at her and she quickly hide behind a pillar so tht he can't see her...
With tht Arnav came back and turned around to his family who were grinning...
Arnav: Wht?? he asked annoyed...
Mamai: Hello Hi Bye Bye...if you knews where Dr.Khushi's Dupatta izz then why don't you tells us?? Cmon tells us???hmm?? she asked in a teasing voice...
Arnav rememberes tht he almost told them tht he had her dupatta...
Arnav: I..Uh...I don't know wht you are talking about...he said while sitting on a couch and not looking up at the 3 ladies...
Anjali: Don't worry bt we know wht you are talking about and trying to hide...she said laughing and making Arnav more uncomfortable...
Nani: And we also know whom you were looking behind...she said teasing him along Anjali and Mami and looking out of the door...
Arnav: Stop...I have to go and call Aman...he said while quickly going out of the room...
Anjali stopped to laugh: Nani, Khushiji is a very nice girl...You know I met her today at the temple and she is a really cute and innocent girl bt I think she has some problems...she said while her smile slowly vanished...
Nani came to Anjali and caressed her ahir lovingly: I know, I also like her very much bt I also had the feeling tht something is bothering her...
Mami: And I think tht Arnav bituwa also likes her...Sasuma don't you think we should start think something..she said while she was already thinking how good both would look together...
At this Nani and Anjali's face lit up again and all agreed and started to make different plans to bring them together...

Khushi's heartbeat was really fast and her heart was feeling really heavy as she walked out of Anjali's room...She felt really bad and hurt coz of Arnav's words but at the same time she was feeling really nervous coz she could feel someones gaze at her, not someones bt his gaze on her...She dared to look over her shoulder to see if she is right bt the second she looked back she regretted it, again his eyes were showing those weird emotions along with anger which they showed in the morning, so she quickly hide behind the nearest pillar as her breathing was becoming heavy due to his gaze...
K: Wht is happening to me? Why Am I feeling so bizzare and nervous coz of him? Bt wht can I do, he is scaring me with his eyes...Those eyes and the emotions which they hold are more scarry then his rudeness...Why I feel like tht there is a story behind ths mask of arrogance and rudness which he always wears? And most of all why I'm feeling tht I can read his eyes and why I want to know more about him and about his Life...
She tried to calm her fast heartbeat and heavy breathing...she looked frm the pillar if he was still there and she saw him going out of the room and going in an other direction, her breathing became normal bt suddenly he stopped and slowly turned into her direction and again her breathing heratbeat got faster and heavier..

Arnav quickly left his Di's room as he was afraid tht his family may ask him more and come to some conclusions...
He was about to leave frm there when his eyes caught her hiding behind a pillar and secretly looking in his direction bt when he caught her eye she quickly hide behind the pillar, his feet automatically started to walk into her direction...
Khushi could hear how he was nearing her and she quickly closed her eyes nd with each of his step she pressed herself more against the pillar so he would pass by her and wouldn't see her...
When he reached the pillar he stopped there still not shifting his gaze to his right where she was standing...Taking this as her oppurtiunity she quickly walked a half round around the plliar and was about to run away when she felt a grip on her wrist...
Arnav heard her fast breath and he almost heard her loud heartbeat bt thought tht it was his imagination...frm the corner of his eyes he saw her moving more and more away frm him and taking his not reacting as a signal she run...He heard every movement of her, coz of her Payal so without turning around he grapped her hand...
Khushi gulped as she was afraid tht he might hurt her again and she couldn't take more for today...If he would say something she would again break down and she didn't wanted to break down ifront of him...bt to her surprise he had controlled his grip and held her softly...His grip was soft bt still firm, it almost felt like he does not want to hurt her as she is to fragile or a porcelain doll who would break into hundred pieces if somebody would hold her to tight...
Still both backs were facing eachother and the silence in the hospital was scaring her so she thought of breaking the silence beteween both of them...
K: I..I have to go...Plz, Leav...she said in a low voice while she slowly started to struggle in his grip...
Arnav turned around and turned her also around to him...In one go she collided with his hard chest bt he made sure tht it doesn't hurt her...One hand of her was in his grip and the other on his chest to maintain some distance...She just looked at him with question filles eyes...
Arnav: Don't think tht I forgot wht you did...You messed with ASR and now you have to face the real ASR...prepare yourself Dr.Gupta...he said in a dangerous low voice and tightning his grip on her and breaking her last bangle...
First Khushi thought tht he may apologize to her for being so rude as he held her so soft bt then listening to his words her eyes became wider and moist...when he broke her last bangle a tear escaped her eye...She slowly put her hand back frm his chest...
When Arnav saw her tear he stopped his talks and unkowingly loosened his grip maybe to wipe her tear, he himself didn't knew wht he wanted to do...
When she felt tht his grip is loosning she pushed him back which made her stumble two steps back...He had her broken bangle in his hand and clenched his hands into fists...
They looked into eachothers eyes when she suddenly begun to take steps back and after a a big gap which he couldn't fill so fast she turned around and run frm there, only her Payal's and her silent snobs could be heard in the corridor...
Arnav just stood there not knowing why and wht he done...He just knew tht he wanted revenge frm her coz of her arrogance and the slap bt her tears were making it difficult for him...He looked at the broken bangles in his hand and clenched it and it broke into more pieces...First he wanted to throw it away bt something stopped him frm doing tht and he took it with him...
Khushi was running to her cabin, when she reached there she looked at her wrist...It was red and there were finger marks and a little peace of the bangle was in her wrist which she somehow got out of her wrist...
She wiped her tears and quickly called Akash to post pone their meeting and texted Geet tht she'll be leaving now...
