Its almost done.
I've tried re-writing it several times..
& I'm only kinda, sorta stuck.. 😆
BUT, will figure it out soon and, hopefully,
get the next chapter up soon !

"Take a picture. It'll last longer." Preeti said to Arjun, who was still glaring at her.

The guys and Preeti were currently sitting in the living room, waiting on Anjali who went to fetch towels for the Ranveer and Arjun, both of whom were still wet.

"Preeti. Stop." Anjali reprimanded, coming back into the room with the towels in her hand.

"What do you mean 'Preeti stop.' ? Don't you see he's staring at me as if he's gonna eat me!"

"Please. I think we all know who likes to eat human flesh here." Arjun retorted, pointing at her.

Ranveer who had remained silent all this while, finally spoke up. "Shut up Arjun." He turned to Preeti with a charming smile. "Ignore him. Sometimes he has the immaturity of a 5 year old. I apologize that you're gonna have to put up with him for a while. And we're both very sorry for that little prank we played on you earlier. Aren't we Arjun?"

The only response he received from Arjun was grumbling.

Preeti looked at him with a smile. "Ok. You're forgiven. I'm sorry for drenching you with ice water, and then giving you an electric shock. But, only YOU. Not him."

Anjali looked at her disapprovingly. She handed a towel to Ranveer who smiled his thanks at her. "Sorry to BOTH of you." She turned to Arjun and smiled as he took the towel from her.

"You know, I think I'm gonna like you." he grinned at her. "You know minus the whole, you tried to kill me, thing."

Anjali turned a deep shade of red. "That wasn't my intention. It wasn't even my idea."

"Yeah. I think we've established who the crazy one is." Arjun said looking at Preeti.

"HEY ! " she cried.

Ignoring her, he continued. "Moving on. I'm Arjun."

"Ranveer."

She smiled at them both. "I'm Anjali." She looked towards an angry Preeti who refused to speak. "And that's Preeti."

"Now that that's cleared up," Arjun started. "Where's your brother? He's supposed to interview my brother, who's - if you haven't figured it out by now - also your soon-to-be fiance." He smirked at Anjali who tried to hide her blush.

Ranveer gave him an exasperated look and put his head in his hands, while Arjun just gave him a 'what did I do' look.

"What do you mean fiance?" Preeti asked. "Did you not get the idea, with all you just went through? Or did that shock fry your brain? Let me put it in cave man language for you. SHE NO MARRY YOU. NO WEDDING. Did you get that ?"

"Care to repeat that Preeti?" Preeti turned to the door so fast, her vision blurred.

"Bhaiyya?! You're early!"

"Hmm...how very unfortunate for you, huh?"

Anjali quickly stepped in. "Uh..Bhaiyya, she was just joking...right Preeti?" she turned to Preeti, who nodded quickly. "Haha, yeah. Just joking. We wouldn't treat guests like that. We were just messing around."

"You better have been." Raj then turned to Arjun and Ranveer who were now both on their feet as well. "Hey guys. Sorry I wasn't here when you got in. I was out of town for a meeting. I'm Raj Sharma."

Ranveer reached out to shake his hand. "It's alright. Anjali and Preeti were very welcoming." he smiled at Anjali.

Raj laughed. "Really? I'll believe that Anjali was. However, whatever Preeti has done to the two of you, I'm sorry."

"I'm Ranveer. And that's my brother Arjun."

Raj looked at him suspiciously. "Ranveer and Arjun? I could have sworn Yash told me his sons names were Ricky and Tommy."

Arjun, thinking quickly, stepped into the conversation. " Haha! Dad's really funny sometimes. Those are the names of his..pets..they're dogs." he laughed nervously. "You see, he considers those dogs his children. Yeah, he loves them a lot. Sometimes, more than us..." Arjun rambled on.

Ranveer started coughing to let him know to shut up.

Raj looked at them suspiciously for a few more minutes, finally he smiled.

After some small talk, mostly consisting of Raj asking about their parents, Ranveer got up. "Its getting pretty late, me and Arjun should head back to our hotel now."

Raj looked up in surprise. "Hotel? No way. You're our guests and you're gonna stay at our guest house."

"Don't worry about us. We've already gotten all our luggage there. Ready Arjun?"

Arjun quickly caught on to what Ranveer was trying to do. "Yeah, we should get back to the hotel. Besides, we wouldn't want to impose on you."

"Glad you understand. You should probably be on your way now. It was nice meeting you." Preeti added sweetly. 'WHAT?' she mouthed to Anjali when she shook her head at her.

"Nonsense." Raj replied, ignoring his sister. "It would be no imposition at all. In fact, I had promised your father you would be staying with me until he got back. I'll send a driver to collect your luggage."

Ranveer and Arjun grinned at each other. One step closer.

Raj soon excused himself to attend to a 'very important' phone call, and Ranveer and Arjun were left with Preeti and Anjali who were to show them to the guest house out back.

"You must be tired. Here, we'll take you to the guest house." Anjali lead them outside.

Preeti rushed up to walk beside her, while the guys trailed behind.

"They're not handicapped. Maybe mentally retarded, but not physically. Why can't they go by themselves?" Preeti hissed.

"Be nice. They're guests. We have to behave politely with them."

Preeti looked at her closely. "Ok, hold up. Earlier you had no problem chasing them outta here, and now 'they're our guests'? OHHH! I get it. He's hot. That's why right? Its because you're attracted to him."

Anjali turned around, mortified, hoping Ranveer or Arjun hadn't heard Preeti. "Could you be any louder?" she gasped. "They could've heard you! And NO. Its not that. I'm just respecting Bhaiyya's wishes. That's all. Nothing more, nothing less."

"Mmhmm. Sure." Preeti gave her a skeptical look.

Arjun made sure the girls were out of earshot. "So what do you think? Is Raj who the department says he is?" He turned to look at Ranveer, who didn't answer him. "Ranveer? ... Oye, Ranveer!"

Ranveer was pulled from his thoughts. "Did you say something?"

Arjun looked at him thoughtfully. "No way." he shook his head with amusement. "Does somebody have a little crush?" he sing-songed.

Ranveer glared at him. "Hilarious Arjun."

"You're not denying it!" Arjun retaliated.

"I do NOT have a crush on Anjali, ok?"

"I never said Anjali!"

Ranveer looked at Arjun warily. "Shut up. Please."

Arjun just grinned gleefully. "Tum Paas Aaye, Yoon Muskuraaye, Tumne Na Jaane Kya, Sapne Dikaaye" he started singing, while trying to dodge the punch Ranveer was currently aiming at his head. "Ab Toh Mera Dil, Jaage Na Sota Hai, Kya Karoon Hai, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai."

"I'm going to kill you." Ranveer lunged for him just as Preeti and Anjali turned around.

"Is everything alright?" Anjali asked.
"I'm telling you Anj, something's not right with them." Preeti whispered.

"Fine." Ranveer spoke as he glared at Arjun. "Everything is fine."

"Actually-" Arjun began, before he was cut off by Ranveer. "Arjun tends to get cranky when he's tired. So we better call it a night."

"Okay," Anjali said, not sounding too convinced. "The driver must have put all your luggage in your rooms by now. We'll see you in the morning then. Goodnight."

"Goodnight." Ranveer smiled at them.

"Goodnight Bhabhi" Arjun smiled. "What?!" he cried, when Ranveer gave him a disbelieving look. "I'm practicing." he winked at Anjali who was turning redder by the second.

"Night cannibal." he nodded to Preeti.

"You freaking bas-" Anjali dragged her away before she could complete her sentence.

Arjun turned to find Ranveer with a serious look on his face. "What? Don't tell me you're pissed. I was joking man. Chill."

"Must you make such idiotic jokes Arjun? Remember.. I'm not here to actually get married. We're here to find enough evidence to put Raj Sharma behind bars. Your 'jokes' are gonna start making things too complicated."

"Complicated for who?" Arjun asked. "We've got to keep the act up. The best way to get to Raj, is through his sisters. The faster we win their trust, the faster we win Raj's."

"I know that." Ranveer snapped.

"Do you?" Arjun looked at him questioningly. "Cause it seems like something about this assignment is bothering you."

"Nothing's bothering me." Ranveer replied, frustratedly running a hand through his hair. "It's just an assignment. As soon as it's over, we can get the hell outta here."

"Preeti, did you hear, Meena's getting married. The wedding's next week." Anjali received no response and turned to see if Preeti was listening to her. "Preeti? Are you even listening? By now, you should be all hyper about how you've got nothing to wear."

"How can you be so... calm, about all this? Earlier, you were being so stubborn about how you didn't want to get married. What changed in just a few hours?" Preeti asked her.

"Nothing's changed." Anjali said.

"Really?" Preeti challenged. "So you're gonna tell Bhaiyya you don't accept the rishta then."

"No." Anjali answered quickly. "I mean, I don't know. The whole purpose of this visit is for us to meet right? I can't tell Bhaiyya I don't wanna marry him after only a few hours. He isn't that bad Preeti. Maybe we can just wait and see what happens."

Preeti grinned. "I knew it. You like like him."

Anjali threw a pillow at her. "Shut up."

"Well whatever you decide, know that I'm always with you. No matter what." Preeti hugged her. "I'll just have to do something about that Arjun." She muttered.

"What?"

"Nothinggg." Preeti smiled sweetly. "Now what color do you think I should wear to the wedding?"

"Do you think this Yashvardhan Sehgal has anything to do with the illegal side of Raj's business?" Arjun asked causing Ranveer to look up from the file he was reading. "I mean, you think he even knows about Raj?"

"I don't think Raj would want his sister involved in all of this." Ranveer said thoughtfully. "But then again, you never know. We should probably go down to the department and go through those idiots' luggage. We might get something from them."

Raj arrives at his office to find Sameer waiting for him. Sameer Diwan is Raj's closest friend and his right-hand man. He takes care of things when Raj isn't there.

"What was so important that it couldn't wait until morning?" Raj asked urgently.

"Relax. The FBI hasn't come to arrest you." he snorted, receiving a murderous look from Raj. "Saxena came to see you. Says he has an offer for you that you can't refuse. Apparently he's right. Since your uncle wants you to take him up on it."

"Let's see what he wants then." Raj

"By the way, where were you? You were supposed to be at that charity dance thing tonight. Sonia was annoying the hell out of me."

"Serves you right. Who told you to take her anyway?" Raj smiled faintly. "Sehgal's sons arrived today. You know, to meet Anjali."

The look on Sameer's face darkened. "To meet Anjali?"

"Yeah. To finalize things." Raj replied nonchalantly, before he opened his office door to greet Mr. Saxena.

"Mr. Saxena. Long time, no see. What can I do for you?"

And a new character has been introduced (Sameer)
I haven't thought of who I want to play him yet LOL

Your updates keep on getting better and better. Loved the way how Preeti is warming up to Ranveer but NOT Arjun lolz and when Arjun called Anjali Bhabi ! 😆 the kkhh part was cuuuteee... and i love how ur giving us clues as to what can happen later. from this chapter, what i figured out was, ranveer is gonna put his mission first just like the show. and Anjali is gonna fall for him but he wont do anything about it. ANDDD ! NEW CHARACTER !!!! WHOOOHOOO! LOL as soon as I read the name i thought of Sam , rishi's bro from hitler didi..😆 and i think this sameer has a thing for Anjali.. am i right ?😃 but as usual hun, excellent writing. really really great 👏👏👏 :) can't wait for the next part...
