Part 9

Here is part 9 everyone! Enjoy!

Note: no one knows about shyam except Khushi, Arnav, Aakash and Payal. So Shyam is still living with them.
She had always wanted a baby born out of love. Not like...this.
Arnav watched as Khushi ran past him and into the bathroom. He was about to follow her when she slammed the door. He knew how much he had hurt her and he deserved alot worse than this, but he prayed that she wouldn't do anything to the baby to get back at him. She wasn't heartless.
They both sat where they were for the next half hour, thinking about what had happened and what to do.
Finally Khushi came out, refreshed. She went straight to the dresser and started putting on the sindoor when she stopped.
Arnav was watching her the whole time and when he saw her stop, he got up and took the sindoor case from her, grabbed a little sindoor and as he was about to put between her hair, he saw Khushi crying and stopped. With his other hand he lifted her face to look at him.
"Khushi, please don't cry. What's wrong? What happened?"
Khushi shook her head in denial. "Nothing." She knew that if he put the sindoor on her, it would be like a second marriage, because a husband only does it once, during the wedding.
"Khushi, if you don't want me to, I won't. But please tell me." he told her, not wanting to do anything without her telling him.
Khushi nodded her head slowly for him to continue. She closed her eyes as she felt his fingers on her forehead moving up as they left red dust in thier wake.
Anjali had told the whole family that Khushi was pregnant, including Shyam. At first, Shyam couldnt believe it. 'She couldn't be pregnant! That was his Khushi. His love. The only person who had a right over her body! How dare Arnav touch her!' he though.
He was on his way to talk to Khushi, but what he saw made him stop in the doorway. Arnav was putting sindoor on Khushi! HIS Khushi! And she wasn't saying anything. It was time for him to step in. Just as Arnav lifted his hand from Khushi's forehead, there was a knock at the door. Khushi opened her eyes and both looked at the door to find Shyam at the door. Instantly, Arnav felt a surge of anger and protectiveness rise from within him. He instantly put an arm around Khushi's waist and pulled her close. He'd be damned before he let Shyam say or do anything to his wife again. He had caused enough damage.
Khushi saw Shyam and instantly her breathing became more rapid and heart started beating faster due to fear of him. She felt strong arms around her waist and being pulled closer. She instantly felt safe within her husband's powerful arms instead of being afraid or angry. She looked at Shyam and saw the anger on his face.
Seeing his brother-in-law's arms around his Khushi made his blood boil. He had no right to touch her like that. Only Shyam did. But because Arnav was there, he had to make it seem like he had changed.
"Saale Sahib, good morning! Rani Sahiba told me the wonderful news. Congratulations to both of you!" he replied with a fake smile.
"Good morning to you to Jijaji. Thank you." Arnav replied with a frown. He didn't bother even pretending to like him.
"Congratulations to you too, Khushiji." he looked at her and gave her a smile. Arnav could see the sick obsession in his eyes for her.
"Thank you," Khushi answered in a soft voice with her eyes lowered.
Arnav could not handle Shyam looking at his wife the way he was. He never learned.
"Jijaji, did you need something?" Arnav asked as irritation lined his voice.
"Yes, Saale Sahib. I do have a question." Shyam smiled as he watched Khushi.

What do you think Shyam will do now? What will he ask Arnav? WILL he ask Arnav or will it be Khushi? :/
