Part 28
Arnav started off to the first address with Aakash following closely. It was now pouting hard.
*flashback*
He was watching Khushi stand in the download in nothing but her paper thin outfit, shivering from the cold. He shouldn't have made her direct cars in the rain. He felt guilty now. Suddenly, she was standing in a spotlight, she looked so beautiful. It took him about a minuet before he realized the spotlight was a car's headlights. He ran as fast as he could and grabbed her, spinning them both out of the way of the car. She had moved her hands so they were wrapped around him and had her face buried against his chest. He felt her stiffen and look up and he looked down at her and their eyes locked. *rabba ve*
*flashback*
He was startled by a honk. He looked around to notice he had stopped in the middle of the road. He looked up into his rear-view mirror to see Aakash behind him. He regained his composure and continued to the first place.
They reached a small house that looked like it was waiting for someone to step on the wrong board and fall on them, trapping the unlucky person. He remembered the guest house and how he had found Khushi stuck and scared upstairs. The look they had shared when he held her against the wall and letting her go when he realized he had broken her one of her bangles, causing them to both bleed. He was pulled out of his thoughts by Aakash, who rested his hand on his shoulder. They looked towards the house to see a small light in one of the windows. They both thought 'Could this be the house? Will they be in it?'
Khushi had found a small closet on one of the walls. She tried to open it and after a bit it gave way. She opened the door, but saw it wasn't a regular closet. It had metal shelves and when she turned around, was able to tell that the inside of the also metal. 'This isn't a house! Where has that beast brought me?' she thought. She went in after looking behind her to make sure he hadn't come in. She started feeling around for anything, a rod, a sharp piece of metal or even a flashlight. Something that would help with her situation. Her hand hit something small and heavy. She grabbed it and found it was a flashlight. Praying it would turn on, she pressed the button and was rewarded with a faint light. She didn't want to be found in here when he came in so she decided to go back to the bed. She slowly closed the door and carefully made her way back just in time. She had just a few seconds to sit down and hide the flashlight before the door opened.
Shyam had finally finished everything. He had his contact bring him the medication for the abortion and all the papers needed. After shutting the door after the man, he got some water and made his way to her room. He unlocked the door and opened to find her up and sitting in bed. He was happy that she had woken up. He was worried because he had slapped her, he never wanted to hurt her. Just wanted her to be happy with him. He approached her and saw her flinch. This pained him a lot. To see the woman you love be scared of you.
"Khushiji, I'm sorry for what I did in the car, I just got mad. I won't hurt you again. I promise." he said as he sat on the bed next to her. He raised his hand to her face to have her turn her head away. "Khushiji, I will take better care of you than Arnav ever could."
She spun her head when she heard him take her husband's name. "Don't say his name. Ever again." she said sternly, surprised at where this ha come from. One minute ago, she was scared, now she that fear was placed with defensiveness of her baby and husband. She was not gonna let him hurt her baby or husband.
"Khushiji, what is wrong with me saying his name? After all, he is my brother-in-law."
"Then go back to Di and Abhi. Become that ideal husband, father and son-in-law. Let me go."
"Khushi, Khushi, Khushi. It's too complicated for that. I love you and that's all that matters. I don't love Rani Saahiba. She has Abhi. She doesn't need me anymore. I have you." he smiled. "Khushiji, you need to take this medication." he held out the pills and water to her. She eyes them suspiciously, not trusting him at all.
"My doctor told me not to take any medication besides my vitamins without consulting her first." she replied.
"It's ok, Khushi. I talked to your doctor and she said these are ok. It's for the baby. You will be fine." he smiled sickly. "Take it."
She took the pills and put one in her mouth, taking a drink of the water while watching him smile. She handed the water back to him.
"I will get his signature on the divorce papers and all you have to is sign them. Then we will get married." he said and got up. He closed the door after him and Khushi heard the lock click.
Arnav and Aakash were standing outside the window when they saw a man walk out of a room. Both brothers looked at each other and knew that the same questions passed both minds, Was this it? Was that him? Was she here?'
