Epilogue

"Kunwar, doh na!" Shakti whined.

"No! Who has ice cream for breakfast?" Amar argued back not relenting to his wife's cute pouting.

"Kunwar I really really REALLY want some ice cream NOW!" Shakti yelled and continued begging. She tried to grab the container out of his hands but he dodged away.

"No sweetheart, I dont deny you anything but I'm not giving you what you want this time. You can get sick or catch a cold.."

He put the container of chocolate ice cream back into the fridge and planted himself right in front of it so she couldnt get it.

Shakti frowned and made yet another futile attempt to get him out of the way so she can reach the ice cream container. When he still refused to budge she lost control of the turmoil of emotions churning through her. She couldnt help it when her eyes instantly began to water and soon tears made there way down her face.

Amar felt a prick in his heart as he watched the tears flow down her face. He instantly felt guilty and pulled her into his arms, burying her face into his chest and placing his own head on top of hers. He soothingly caressed her back and arms and continously apologized.

"I'm sorry babyy. So sorry. I just didnt want you to get sick. Plus the doctor said you should follow a healthy diet, that's why I refused to give you the ice cream. Sorry sweetheart. Please dont cry, you know I cant see you like this" his voice broke a little from the tension. He squeezed her lightly, burying his face into her hair.

Shakti finally stopped crying and turned Amar's head so he was facing her. "It's okay." she replied, her voice a little hoarse from all the crying. She cleared her throat and ran her hands over her face wiping away the tears. She looked up to see him watching her and gave a sweet, innocent smile. "So can I have the ice cream now?" she asked unleashing all her innocence and cuteness.

Amar couldnt help but laugh at her sweet antics. He sighed, finally surrendering to her demand. "Yes but only because I dont have energy for any more of your emotional aatiyechar today" he chuckled and turned to take out the ice cream from the fridge.

As soon as he got it out she grabbed it from his hands and scurried towards the kitchen counter, climbed on top of it and relished her treat, swinging her feet back and forth as they dangled above the floor like a little child.

Amar watched her for a few minutes admiring her beauty and not wanting to disturb her peaceful moment with her treat. He chuckled inwardly thinking of all her crazy cuteness.

After a while he finally went to her and climbed onto the countertop, sitting next to her.

"Want some?" she offered, holding a spoonful of chocolate ice cream in front of his mouth. He shook his head but that didn't discourage her. Instead she just stuck the spoon into his mouth anyway.

"By the way, I'm sorry" she said, still focused on her frozen treat.

Amar looked at her questioningly. "For what?" he asked after swallowing, confused about what she was apologizing for.

She turned her body to the side so she was facing him and continued eating. "For freaking you out with my crazy mood swings. I myself dont know how I'm about to react to a certain situation. My emotions are all over the place. One minute I'm super happy and the next minute I'm angry. And I cry about everything now!" she said in an exasperated tone, rolling her eyes at her own sillyness. "I swear Kunwar I doubt I've ever cried this much in my entire life the way I have been these past few months.." she giggled. She leaned forward and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. "My mood swings freak me out so they must drive you crazy!" she laughed.

Amar laughed with her. "Dont worry about it. You're not as annoying as you give yourself credit for" he teased. "And plus it's actually quite entertaining" he smirked. "Except for the crying, ofcourse. That definitly freaks me out!" They both chuckled.

Amar hopped off the counter. "Okay, that's enough." he said taking the ice cream container out of her hands.

"But.." she tried to protest but stopped when he gave her a stern look. She already had enough so she didnt argue.

Amar went and put the ice cream away and came back to where she was sitting. He picked her up and carefully placed her on her feet. Shakti slid her arms around his waist and pulled herself close to his body. She leaned up on her toes and pressed her lips onto his. She could feel his lips curve up into a smile under hers. He cupped her face with his hands and nudged her mouth open, deepening the kiss. He could taste the chocolate in her mouth.

They kissed, drowning in the deep pools of passion and ecstacy. Amar finally broke away when they heard the door bell ring.

He planted another quick kiss full on her lips before letting go of her. "Go see who it is while I make some real breakfast for us" he said chuckling.

Shakti went to open the door.

"Mukti! Dharmesh!"

"Hey Shaks" Mukti replied, pulling her older sister into her embrace.

"Hi Shakti! Sorry for the disturbance early in the morning but we both thought it was time we gave our siblings a visit" Dharmesh replied smiling and giving her a quick hug.

"Come in you guys!" she moved away from the entrance, allowing them to come in. They followed her to the living room and everyone sat down. Just then Amar came out of the kitchen as well. He greeted Mukti and Dharmesh and joined them.

"Damn Shaks, I saw you only 2 days ago but I swear you look even bigger now!" Mukti teased making Shakti flush in irritation.

"Shut up Mukti! I'm not THAT big!" she argued fiercely. "Am I?" she inquired, instantly becoming timid and looking at Amar with insecurity showing all over her face.

Amar got up and went over to her, pulling her into his embrace and kissing her head, "You're the most beautiful girl I've ever laid eyes on" he assured her sincerely.

She smiled and turned to stick her tongue out to Mukti. Both sisters giggled while Dharmesh and Amar rolled their eyes chuckling over their childishness.

"Okay let me tell you before I forget. Dharmesh and I've organized a party for the both of you and I invited all your DID and D3 friends. Thought you guys would like a reunion after so long." Mukti informed with a smile.

Shakti got super excited. "OMG Muks that's so sweet of you guys! I cant believe you did something so nice for us!"

"Oh come on Shaks, I'm not that bad of a sister" she replied with a wink. "And plus this is my way of making up for all the times I teased you in these past few months! That and also to thank my sweet brother-in-law for putting up with you!"

"Mukti I swear I'm..."Shakti began to threaten, launching herself at her little sister but Amar caught her arm and pulled her back.

"Shakti, careful please" he said, sitting her back down.

"Not fair Kunwar, tum hamesha usse bacha lete ho" Shakti pouted, shooting a glare at Mukti.

"Woh isliye kyunki mei uski saali hu. Setting karke rakha hai.." Mukti winked.

"Dont worry Shakti, mei tumhare side pe hu" Dharmesh smiled going over to sit next to her.

Shakti smiled hugely, "Ja Mukti kar apne jiju ki sath setting, I have Dharmesh!"

"Acha acha sab apni apni setting baad mei karna, let's have breakfast now!" Amar said, ushering them all to the dining room.

"Kunwar, Mukti was right! I'm enormous!" Shakti panicked. "I look like a walking elephant in this dress!"

Amar sighed and tried to calm her down. "Sweetheart you're 7 months pregnant. You're supposed to be big.." he knelt in front of her and placed his palms flat against her bulging stomach. "Our baby needs room to move around you know." He leaned forward and softly kissed her baby bump over the silk material of her dress.

They both still couldn't believe that in another few months they would become parents. It was all so overwhelming. Shakti was excited to be a mom but sometimes she worried if she was ready to take on such a big responsibilty, but all her worries vanished everytime Kunwar assured her that together they would get through everything.

Shakti smiled when Amar took her hands into his and softly kissed her knuckles before getting back onto his feet.

Shakti turned back to looking at herself in the mirror and her smile turned into a frown. She was wearing a pale sea green silk gown with her hair pinned up into an intricate bun. Her baby bump showed only slightly but it still made her conscious.

"Fine, I guess there isnt anything I can really do about my size" she sighed. "But promise me you wont look at any other girl just because I'm the size of a whale now."

Amar chuckled at her insecurity. He walked up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist, running his lips lightly over the exposed skin of her neck and shoulder.

"Dont worry babes, I'll keep my eyes closed the entire time" he teased. Shakti giggled with him over her sillyness.

"Okay okay ab chalo, or else Mukti will blame me for being late!" Shakti said. She grabbed her purse and they headed out.

Soon they reached the party venue.

"I look okay na?" Shakti paused in front of the entrance, still conscious of her bulging midsection.

Amar wrapped his arm around her and pulled her close to his side, "You always look beautiful. I'm telling you, everyone in there is gonna envy me because I have such a beautiful wife!" he leaned in to kiss her cheek.

"Kunwar I'm nervous!" Shakti sighed.

"Why? Everyone in there are our friends."

"Because we haven't seen most of them in soo long and some of them dont even know that I'm pregnant. Only Sneha, Alisha and Archie know along with Mukti and Dharmesh. Everyone will be surprised. And as far as I know Mukti she probably didnt bother to give everyone a heads up. You know how I hate being center of attention unnecessarily. It makes me conscious."

"Love, I promise I'll stay by your side the whole time!" he assured her before leading her into the party venue.

Before falling asleep that night Shakti thanked her stars for bringing her Kunwar into her life. She turned to her side to face her husband who was peacefully sleeping beside her. Shakti couldn't resist as her hand involuntarily took hold of his hand and their fingers automatically entwined. Even unconciously he was so aware of all her needs and wants. In the 3 years they had been married he had pampered and loved her unconditionally. And each night she made sure to thank whatever universal force it was that had brought him to her. A soft smile spread across her face before she cuddled into his side and dozed off, grateful for her perfect life.

"Amar, stop fidgeting so much! The doctors said she's fine and everything is going normally so why are you so tensed." Archie asked. He was lounging on a plastic bench munching on some potato chips. Dharmesh, Alisha, Sneha, and Mukti were present as well along with both Shakti and Amar's parents. They all silently watched as Amar paced back and forth, worry lines evident on his face.

"Amar calm down. She's Shakti, the strongest girl I've ever met; she'll be fine." Sneha assured, placing a hand on his shoulder.

Just then they all heard another shriek of pain from the other side of the door, making Amar visibly flinch.

"Oh god, I'm sooo worried!" Amar groaned. "Why is it taking so long?"

"Beta, please try to relax." Shakti's mom tried to soothe her son-in-law, patting his cheek.

They heard another yelp from the room making Amar restless. "Dammit, she's in so much pain!" he wailed.

Dharmesh and Archie jumped up, trying to calm him down while Alisha, Sneha and Mukti sat back and prayed, hoping for it to end soon.

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity of worry and anxiety, they heard the loud cries of a baby.

They all rushed to the door when the doctor stepped out, turning to Amar "Congratulation Mr. Singh! You're the father of a newborn boy!"

Amar froze in surprise for a minute before rushing to his wife's side.

It was silently decided that Amar would go in first to see his wife and newborn son before the rest of the family and friends joined them.

He entered the room, not taking in the warm pastel colours of the wall or the busy nurses emptying out of the room.

The sight before him made his heart swell in gratification and pure ecstasy. His eyes were trained on the bed where his strong, gorgeous wife half lay, half sat leaning against a number of pillows - tired, worn out but alert, a faint smile of pride touching her lips, a warm glow in her eyes as she looked at the cradle at her side where the creation they had made together lay.

She looked up, her expressive eyes bright with satisfaction.

"Kunwar" she breathed, her eyes never leaving his face as he approached, enchanted, and stopped beside the cradle and looked at his son for the first time. He was suddenly overwhelmed by the sudden rush of emotions coursing through him- he felt love and wonder and enchantment. He felt himself surrender-

a surrender to this little wrapped up bundle who stared up at him with wide unblinking eyes almost ordering him to pick him up and cradle him in his arms which he did barely a moment later.

As soon as he felt the barely there weight of his son rest in his arms he felt immense pride and completion holding a part of them, a part of their love in his arms.

Tears pricked at the corner of her eyes as Shakti observed the beautiful picture painted before her eyes and she immediately craved to be a part of it. As if he knew what she was feeling, he immediately sat next to her and they both cradled their precious treasure in their intermingled arms.

"I love you Shakti." he whispered, slightly turning and placing a soft tender kiss on her forehead and then her delicate pink lips lingering a moment to convey his love and heartfelt thanks. She cuddled closer to him and breathed out a "I love you too" before they both turned to cherish this moment which was a start of something beautiful.

1. As I said, I've had this part written out for the past 3 months (maybe moree) and I was itching to post it! The urge was so bad that I almost posted it as an OS but I fought the urge down.
2. I seriously lost all my inspiration and interest. Not in my writing but in D3 and somewhat in ArSha as well. So I didn't want to drag it and end up ruining the story. So the safest thing to do was end it. Although I pretty much wrote out everything and more of what I had planned to when I first started this!
