Part 3—

Arnav walked into the raizada hall with a flower garland in his arm. Khushi's voice echoed in the hall, "I'm here jiji" as she moved in front from behind Arnav's back with a flower garland around her neck. Everyone looked at them as if this was one of their nightmares. Anjali and Payal simultaneously whispered "Chote" "Khushi". Shyam who was coming down from his room almost tripped on the stairs. Buaji's hand went up to hold her head with her mouth open. Garima's mouth couldn't stay closed as well. Finally Mami broke the silence by saying "Hello Hi Bye Bye, Phati sari what kind of joke is this?" which made everyone come out of their shocked expressions. BUaji moved forward and hit Khushi's head lightly and asked her "sanka devi seriously there is limit to playing pranks". Anjaji then moved forward and said "Chote even you got involved in Khushiji's plan?" All the while Khushi kept her eyes and head down not knowing how to break the news to all. Arnav noticed Shyam straitening himself and walking towards them. While glaring at shyam, arnav with his half, arrogant smile replied "It's not a joke, Khushi and I got married"and wrapped his arms around her shoulder.

Shyam's eyes grew bigger than they were on listening to Arnav's declaration. Khushi who was facing down looked up at arnav, and he gave back a look to her before facing everyone else. Payal this time walked up to Khushi and said "what nonsense is this Khushi, please say something!" Tears whelped on to Khushi's eyes and with a shaky tone she replied "Noo..jiji arrr..arnavji is right, w..we are married". Garima who was quite all this while gave a tight slap across Khushi's face. This somehow got everyone's attention more than the sudden marriage. Aranv's grip slowly loosened as he saw Khushi's terrified face.

Payal held Garima's shoulder and softly whispered "Amma noo". But Garima was too furious to control herself now. "What the hell does she think she is doing? She didn't even inform us let alone taking permission" Khushi's head lowered out of shame and Arnav just looked straight for the drama to finish. Nani who was watching all this thought it was time for her to take matters into her hand. She walked towards Arnav and asked him "Chote what is all this? How and when did you both get married?" Arnav with his calmed down tone replied "Khushi got over whelmed looking at her sister getting married, we both have been planning to marry since some days now so we thought this would be a good occasion. I took her to a nearby temple and now here we are" Anjaji's eyes widened and she said "good occasion? Temple? Without telling anyone? Chote you didn't even tell me..your own sister?" The last line made Arnav flinch and feel the guilt but he pulled himself back and replied with half smile "I wanted to surprise you Di, you only kept saying i should get married" Anjali with a stern voice replied "I did but nothing this way Chote!" Arnav kept his hand on her shoulder and replied "relax Di and anyway I don't like the noisy marriage function so it's good we got married peacefully"

Payal was too heartbroken on her sister's sudden decision. Akask held on to her who was equally shocked at all the events. Mami sat down on the sofa to watch the whole drama unfold. Buaji was still not convinced she cupped Khushi's face and said "ee titaliya tell me, is something wrong? I know you, you won't even go out to the market without our permission..then why this?" Khushi looked into Buaji's eyes..she wanted to her tell her, tell her everything that had happened to her this evening. But she remembered her promise and then gathered all the courage and replied "No buaji there is nothing to say. I knew you would never agree to our marriage. I knew you would never accept mine and arnavji's relation so this was the only way I could have him" Aranv looked at her with a little surprise this time. Shyam had gone numb to react to any of this. Garima pulled on to Buaji's hand and said "enough jiji she does not deserve our love, our care. She did not even consider trusting us and telling us about all this. Let's go I don't want to see her face anymore". With that she went to Payal and kissed her forehead. As Buaji wheeled Shashi to the entrance door, Khushi looked at her father with tears rolling down. He knew she was hiding something. She was about to touch his feet when Garima held her hand, "you have no right over us now." She tried to hold to her mother but she flinched it away and while leaving she accused her "we always thought you were ours but it turns out that you were never our daughter". As Khushi heard that bitter truth her feet felt cold. Arnav looked at her and he knew, he knew those last words have hurt her immensely.
