Really, I agree, I mean honestly, let this forum be run by 9 year olds and their stories, when I get children I could just tell them to log in here and save them the trouble of narrating bed time stories to them ! 🤪

If there is so much trouble of 9 year olds and other innocent children .. (I honestly dunno how they can be called innocent if they know well enough how to get in here and filter adult content in FFs).. Then honestly, this place should have some kind of privacy right. Either lock this forum to non-members and stuff !

The curiosity of a 9 year old can be satisfied elsewhere, a million places elsewhere, but if I-F is so considerate about 9 year old, then take measures instead of just issuing warnings such as this one. Such warnings have come up so many times in the past, and repetitively, but if the need is arising to put it up again, then it means that prior warnings haven't had much (any) effect right?

I do not know what to say !!!

Being one of the initial members when IF had less than 100 members and then being a mod for star one shows initially , I totally understand the MOD's POV .
But again being a writer , I understand the writer's point of view.

All I have to say is , in 2005 , the rules were too strict for FF's and even kissing between leads was considered offensive (yes it was!!! ... I myself had to close down a couple of threads during the time since they contained kissing between leads and people were offended) . But now I see we have grown and evolved .
Although I know ppl here are complaining why are 9 year olds here in the forum , trust me ... its not completely untrue ... there are 9 year olds here . Although , its not our job to police them . If we police them here , there is no way we can guarantee that they wudn find really explicit material else where . Even newspapers are filled with them . Lets just face it !!

As a writer , I request the mods to please take this issue and re-frame the rules . As I said before , in 2005 kissing wasnt allowed , but now it can be written tastefully . Same can be said about intimate scenes. They need not be crass , but can be mellowed down . Again , these are only my POV .

Coming to the FF's which are "banned" , I do not know about others , but Pandora's Box has a strong story line . Rather than banning outrightly, why not request the writer to mellow down the intimate scenes, if they are offensive ??

Um one question. Have you read the fic in question? I agree there are some written updates of explicit nature that i've seen on this forum. BUT NOT THIS ONE. 😊

Our point is that in an attempt to make it 9 year old friendly you are restricting very good writers from their flow. Which in this case is not only ludicrous but judgmental.

Lemme ask you one thing would you call God of Small Things - crass? I read it the first time at age 10-12, and the INCEST freaked me out, read it again now, you will understand it in a different light. It's about age and maturity to deal with topics which BTW do not revolve only around sex if we're talking about suitability for kids.

Also as a law student let me tell you, I assure you the liability of the IF's nine year old lies with the LAX parents not the Mods and NOT the writers. We're not writing these on a Disney forum you know.

honestly speaking there is no need of such threads coz u relly think that kids who r below 9 yr. Will give u correct DOB and will mak account on d forum.
There r many articles telling that kids r watching ,reading stuffs u called it explict or po*nografic(there is no need to hide spelling of this).
If kids parents cant control their kids so whats d fault of writer that u r punishing them in this way.
HOW MANY PPL R HERE WHO GIVEN CORRECT DOB and u r above 18 so can read mature stuff.
If u dont give permisson to read on open forum they will find their own way of reading this.
Teens is the age when there starts feeling and curosity about sex. No one can stop it its a natural feeling.
there is red note above any writing that its vry mature read at ur own risk.
This is first and last thing any wrter can do.
U mods cant ristrict them on writing their imagination.
When it comes to pandora box shaam hv explained very well that what exacty pandora box is.
To mods if u will read first chaptr , munchy nda given note that what pandora box is.
And munchy is not child that she sonno what she is writing and what effect her wring does on reader. She is natural writer and its totally unfair to punish her like that.

i don't understand what the hell are 12 year olds doing on this forum in the first place!! it is their parent's fault if such youngster is running amok in the internet and specially in a place where mature readers and a mature educated set of adults interact..

IF has certain COCs.. that even i accept..but the FF section should not, i mention SHOULD NOT be treated in the same manner.. it is for creativity..it needs no boundaries..

Totally agree with you guys on this.. are we here to babysit and moral police kids or express and share our creativity with a bunch of mature adults who know the difference. Branding such a story as vulgar is an insult not only to the write but all the ardent followers who cherished such beautiful writing and the maturity of the content. if we want to read Disney romance we would not be here.

I suggest the Mods be EXPLICIT in what is and what is not regarded as vulgar this i feel is really necessary. Why should we even bother to put our heart out and write this stuff and there should be a better way of identifying and limiting users based on age groups and like so many have said if an adult does not like it simply they can go back or not visit the FF anymore. are we to moral police the whole internet?

Read what i commented before lecturing me with ur awesomeness,I am talking about those sole writers and NOT addressing every FF writer. Whose writing content is for titillation. n i repeat I found those FFs horny .Period. no other word to describe them ! If all FF writers think i m targeting their creative writing by calling its content horny then they are infact disgracing themselves by even considering my comment , they know that their ff is a creative piece of work n not the crass i m talking about.
Since this issue came out i wanted to comment , i don't sit around here and run after those people, i have a life outside , IF n FFs is my way for killing time n NOT killing myself for IF , i can comment when and where i want.

I was so disheartened to hear one of my favourite fanfics The Pandora's Box was forced to end. It is being considered vulgar and inappropriate but I do not understand under which basis. Any of the readers that have experienced the amazing journey Munchy wrote can definitely say there weren't scenes of love making added just for the sake of luring some mature readers in. The way the story shapes up the scenes were needed and fit in perfectly. The Pandora's Box was a heart touching story that made me laugh, cry and smile throughout the whole way. And to see how the writer is being insulted is horrible! Munchy put in a countless amount of hours creating a story so beautiful and this is the outcome? I urge moderators to actually read the fanfic and experience its magic first hand, only then will you understand why many readers are heartbroken.

Having a disclaimer up for younger readers should really be considered, instead of insulting a writers creativity and labelling it as vulgarity!

This thread is getting out of hand. The Development Team did not ban Pandora's Box. All we did was tell the author that the explicit chapter (and all you readers know exactly which one that is) should be rewritten with the graphic content removed. We have to enforce the rules of the forum. If we do not receive any response to our warnings and the graphic content remains in the thread, we would have no choice but to ultimately close (at least temporarily) the FF. However, it never got to that point with Pandora's Box. I don't think any writer should close their FF, but I can't change the rules of the forum. I am just trying to get writers to cooperate. If they choose not to follow the rules which are clearly printed in multiple places on the forum, then decide to close their FFs when we try to get them to comply, what can we really do?

Anyway, I don't want this thread to become a war zone. Topic closed.
