"Mayank'."she caressed his face immediately to calmed him down and wiped off his sweat with her duppataa..

He held her hand and kissed it..

"Tum ho na mere pas toh main theek hoon"he smiled slightly to see her getting tensed. She felt relieved a bit to see him calmed again..

Taking deep breath Mayank again spoke up..

"Piya was my friend, my best friend"Mayank gulped down his lump to wetted his dry throat and Nupur pressed her hand on his to give him assurance that she was with him and Mayank slightly nodding his head further told her..

"Piya and I were childhood friends, we were in same school even in same standard. Our parents always meet together so we too, after papa's death her parents had supported us in every time of need. Her father treated my mother like his own sister."Mayank took paused before telling further..

"We had shared great memories together, we used to play together. I was sensitive and serious type boy while Piya was chulbuli, full of life..she was the only person I could rely on.she was the only one I told my secrets too as I was very shy and feel hesitate to talk to others. We always did everything together"

Mayank smiled while telling and Nupur felt as she was seeing the same little shy boy who was telling her his secrets. She could feel through his words, how much Piya was closed to him. she was not feeling jealous or hurt as she knew Mayank was the person who was the honest with his every relation. For him, his every relation had own it place in his heart no one could take that place.. That was the reason she admired him..But still something was pricking in her heart,she was fearing what if Mayank said her "he Loved Piya"though it did not matter to her but still straange restlessness capturing her heart.

"But when we entered in college I had started noticing her change behavior towards me, every time she sees me she started blushing, I had started noticing her care, her possessiveness towards me getting increase day by day.

Whenever any girl tried to talk to me Piya got angry with me, she abused and scolded that girl I really got pissed off at her behavior, Many times we had serious fight due to her that change behavior. I was not able to understand what had happened to her.I really did not know"he sighed in hurtful voice and some tears gushed down from his cheeks and Nupur felt her heart bleed to hear his helpless tone. she raised her hand and softly removed those tears with her palm and Mayank stared down at her..

He closed his eyes for a moment it felt so peace when she touched his face with her and removed his tears.

The pain and regret he always hid from others today her love made him that much strong he did feel to share with her..

"I really did not know until the day'.."Mayank paused and took deep breath and Nupur saw suddenly his face got pale while his eyes seemed hollow..

"It was our last day in college and our principal had held party for our badge. I did not want to go in party but Piya forced me and I got agreed .After party Piya called me in garden I went there as she told me she had surprised for me and there I got the most shocking surprise of my life when she '''"Mayank paused hesitantly and looked at Nupur gulping down her lump nodding her head to signal him to say..

"When she confessed 'her love' to me and i'"Mayank told in chocking voice and Nupur heart skipped a bit but she composed herself and got ready herself for listen what was coming next'

"I was shocked, surprised or hurt too; I had never expected one day my best friend will confess her love to me'"

"Mayank kya ap ne kabhi Piya ke liye kuch mehsoos kiya tha?ya kabhi aisa behave kiya ho ke us se mehsoos ho ap us se'.."she could not complete her words as strange fear had engulfed her heart, Nupur slow yet bit shaking voice fell into his ears and he stared into her eyes,he was taken aback at her sudden question but somehow he knew this was coming in his way as the girl who was sitting infront of him listening about his past was his Wife..he knew she loved him deeply, madly so he could see the fear in her eyes when he was talking about Piya ..

He cupped her face in his hands and made her look into his eye.Nupur stared back into his eyes..

"I had nothing in my heart for Piya.Noting..she was just my friend" he emphasized at the word "Noting" and the wave of contentment she felt inside her he could see. he wanted to tell her he badly wanted her in his life but he knew without telling her truth he could not take any step.The way Mayank said those words and the way he looked at her she felt he wanted to say something more to her, except those words and it was the first time when she saw something more in eyes except concern " love"his possessive act had given her hint there was something in his heart for her.

And her lips curled into slight smile but then she composed herself and he could see contentment on her face..

"phir kya hua tha?"her fear now had been turned into curiosity as she wanted to know if he did not love her then what had happened which made him like that..

"my protective nature towards her was just because of she was my friend, my childhood friend that's why I used to care her so much,I did not want anyone to harm her but she took it in wrong way and that the thing I could not make her understand" Mayank sighed taking deep breath

"When she confessed her love to me I was so shocked that could not say anything and she thought I loved her too and due to my shy nature I am feeling hesitant to say her and after her confession her possessiveness ,her love to wards me getting increased day by day. On the other hand I was so upset, restless I was not able to understand what I have should do as she was my friend and I did not want to hurt her but I could not realize she had been gone mad for me at that extant she could do anything for me"

Mayank'eyes burned with fear and Nupur felt his body was shivering..
