I wrote this last night.. But I wanted to wait until today to post it. Comments and Likes are always welcome. I love that you guys like all the characters. I will be explaining what happened to Shyam soon since there has been a few questions about it. I honestly decided to kill him off because I didn't want any of that bitterness in this story. I know a villain is a must in every love story. But maybe not in this one.. Maybe in this one the twists and turns won't be controlled some evil little man 😉 Hope you guys enjoy as always!!

Chapter 7

Dinner started off in it's usual way. Lots of food laid out on the table. As always, there were 2 options of all the dishes. Mild dishes for the Raizada's beloved Chote and spicy food for everyone else.

Kushi looked at the dhal that clearly lacked spice or flavor and grinned. For a man that is so angry all the time, it is amazing how mild his tasted buds really were. He himself was like a spicy green chili and yet he couldn't handle it in his food. "This man amazes me" said thought to herself while she stole glimpses of him from across the table.

There was definitely tension at the table. Everyone tried to pretend like it was fine, but they all knew that all hell could break lose if one wrong word was said. Payal nervously looked at Anjali Di who gave Lavanya a knowing look who smiled brightly at Viraj. She had so wanted Viren Bhai to hit it off with Anjali Di. But there was no chemistry she thought. She made a note to continue looking for Anjali Di's perfect match since Viren Bhai was not it. She was eager to see the Raizadas happy. At whatever cost. She went back to focusing on the next part of her master plan to get her best friends married and stared at them and smiled at the thought of those two hot heads living happily every after.

After all the nervous glances, Buaji decided to break the ice and started going off on Kushi from one end of the table. Since her brother and sister-in-law had gone to Lucknow for the night, she thought she might as well try to knock some sense into her silly niece.

"Kushi, don't you think it's time you started thinking about settling down?"

"Yes Kushi, Praise the Lord My Akash has found his Payal. Even Lavanya Ji has decided to get married to this handsome boy" Mami said looking at Viraj and Viraj smiled back and her and winked at Lavanya.

"Ha Kushi, it's time to find a suitable husband for your. I mean everyone is settling down besides you and Arnav Babua. These children these days I tell you Nani Ji.. In our days we were married off the moment we turned 18. What has this world come too... "

Arnav and Kushi were both staring at their food like it was the 8th wonder of the world. They knew that making any sort of eye contact with this crowd was going to land them in nothing but hot water. He quickly looked up at her and stole a quick glance of the beautiful woman seated in front of him.

Why hadn't she found anyone? And most of all why does he get angry at the thought of her finding someone. He knew why. But what's the point... "Damn Nande Kishore" he suddenly muttered under his breath remembering his earlier conversation with Di. Suddenly he had an idea. He wanted to see her rattled, so why not do it now he thought...

"Anjali Di, why not tell Buaji about the Kishore family and their son? Didn't you want to introduce him to Payal Ji's family?"

Everyone's attention was suddenly directed at Anjali. Anjali smiled and thought now is the chance to mix things up.

"Of course Chote. I want to introduce the Kishore family to Kushi buaji (Anjali said smiling at Buaji). Their son Nande Kishore is a wonderful boy and was Chote's class mate in grade school. Who knows, maybe he will convince Kushi to stay in Delhi with us"

"That is wonderful news Anjali!! And his name is Nande Kishore? Aww it's a sign from god"

"But I can't move out of Bombay right now" Kushi suddenly shrieked from the other end of the table

The whole table was shifted it's focus on Kushi's sudden and unusual out burst. She hadn't said a word since dinner started.. She wasn't one to refuse something told to her by her elders, but she didn't want to meet anyone. Why would she? The man that she had wanted to spend the rest of her life with, her "Laad Governer" was sitting right in front of her, it's a pity he turned out to be such a jerk. And now she no longer wanted to think about settling down. Don't they understand? She was looking frantically around the table for some support, but it seemed that everyone wanted to marry her off to someone..

"That Kishore boy for my Kushi Beta?? He won't know what to do with her! Anjali it's not a good match. Kushi belongs with someone who will complement her. And it's definitely not that Kishore boy"

"Ha Nani my thoughts exactly" Piped up Arnav.

Now it was everyone's turn to stare at him. He never spoke about matters like this. He never spoke about them because he never cared. But he got caught up in the moment and he just blurted it out. All the colour drained out of his face as he realized what he had just done.

He looked across to Kushi who looked confused. She seemed to be shocked. And then over to the rest of the table. They all looked perplexed by his comment.

"I mean, Nande Kishore should be with someone better" he quickly said to remedy the situation instantly kicking himself as he saw the hurt look on Kushi's face which suddenly changed back to her stone cold facade.

"What are you on about Chote. Don't talk nonsense. That Kishore boy is nothing compared to my Kushi beta. Besides I already picked out a boy for Kushi Beta" Nani said in matter of fact tone.

"Nani Ji really? Who is it???" Asked Buaji

"I will tell you all when the time is right. Give me a month or so.. Now lets finish up dinner before the food gets cold. Kushi has promised to make us dessert and I have been looking forward to it all evening. So hurry up everyone!"

Everyone went back to their food quietly. So his own Nani has picked out someone for Kushi he thought. He noticed her shifting in her chair uncomfortably. He knew she had no interest in any of this. But he also knew how much Nani meant to her. So she may succumb to this charade of a marriage that Nani has planned for her if it meant keeping her family being happy. That thought scared him. He knew how independent she was and how she liked to do things that felt right to her. But would she go ahead with Nani's proposal if she thought it would make everyone happy? No, that can't happen. He has to find a way to fix this and fix it fast before things got out of control.

Kushi was not happy with how dinner was going. She didn't want to get married. But how can she say no to Nani. She knew that Nani was wiser than anyone else sitting at this table and she respected her. More than that she loved her and everyone else at this table. Including "Him" she thought bitterly. If it would make her family happy, this is something to consider. Maybe it doesn't have to be love. Maybe she will like the guy.. Who knows.. Oh who was she kidding.. This would make her miserable!! But it would make her family happy and that's more important than anything else. For now, she just wanted to get through this dinner and make some Jalebis. She was upset and that was her remedy. Thank god everyone was already expecting her to make dessert. No one would suspect a thing about how she was really feeling she thought to her self and continued to finish her food.

After dinner, everyone had moved to the living room while Kushi went over to the kitchen. Arnav had immediately stormed off to his room. "No one told me that I had to be there for dessert, just dinner" he had told Di as he walked away.

Anjali, Payal and Lavanya were off in one corner while Buaji, Mami ji and Nani Ji were discussing the good old days. The guys seemed to have huddled off in their own corner talking about lord knows what.

Once Anjali was sure that no one could hear her except for Lavanya and Payal, she finally started talking

"We seem to have a road bump"

"Yes, Nani had found a boy for Kushi???" Lavanya asked

"And knowing Kushi, she will go along with it to make everyone happy" said Payal looking worried

"We need to fast track everything. If we wait any longer, this might get messy" Lavanya piped in

"Lavanya, do you think we could make this work in 3 weeks instead of 3 months? If we don't, I'm afraid it will go wrong. And we can't let that happen"

"Of course Di. Lets just figure this out and make sure everything goes according to plan ok?"

"It has to work Lavanya Ji, I can't bear to see my sister like this" Payal added.

Meanwhile in the kitchen, Kushi was busy make Jalebis while praying to her Devi Maiyya and asking her for the strength to forget the man that haunted every ounce of her body, mind and soul. She wanted to find a way to move on but couldn't.So she continued on asking for mercy while she chewed on her Jalebis.

At the other end of the house Arnav was busy butchering his beloved garden in order to clear his mind. He had to figure out how to win her back. He can't let her marry some loser. "No. If she's going to end up with anyone, it's going to be me" he finally said it out aloud while he continued on ruining every plant in site.

A storm was brewing in the Raizada household. Little did they know about the Divine Intervention that was about to happen in the next few days. You know what they say.. "If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans"

Fab update. You are so good thta you update so quick. I just loved this part. And so want them to be together. Those two are so strong headed. I really want hem to accept to each other.

Chapter 8

While Kushi was putting the final touches on the dessert, she looked at everything. "Everything looks perfect" she thought to herself and smiled. She had made a special "sugar free" batch of everything for "Him" as well. "It's not like he's going to touch it. How would he? He still thinks I'm not good enough for that Kishore guy"

Anjali slowly walked over to her and smiled.

"Kushi, I need to discuss some of the party plans with you"

"Ok Anjali Di, what needs to be done"

"Well everything is done. The food, decor and entertainment has been arranged, but I need to get Payal and Akash out of the house for the day. I need you to take them out somewhere. Maybe to get some of the things for the baby"

"Ok Anjali Di no problem. I can do that. Anyway I wanted to get some jewellery made for my little niece and Jiji, so I can take them out so that to get all of that done" The doctor had said that Payal was having a healthy baby girl and Kushi was excited at the thought of spoiling the little princess.

"Yes that would be good. I need them out of the house for at least 3 hours"

"Ha Anjali Di. Also I need to pick up something for the party for myself, so I can do that too. We will leave tomorrow after lunch and hopefully that will give you the time you need to get everything ready. Please let me know if you need anything else Anjali Di"

"Oh no nothing else Kushi Ji. Also, Chote will be joining you guys. He's not one for being around the house when we're getting it ready and I don't need him storming around scaring everyone"

"But Anjali Di can't he go to work or something??"

"Kushi please don't continue doing this to yourself. My Chote is not a bad man. He's just got a temper. And he will be on his best behaviour I promise"

"Fine Anjali Di... Hey before you leave, can you please give this to him?" she asked Anjali pointing at the tray of sugar free sweets.

Anjali smiled at her fondly and was amazed by how thoughtful this young woman was despite being taunted by her brother. "He was a lucky man" she thought...

"Of course I will Kushi" she said while grabbing the tray and walking away.

"Chote I have something for you" Anjali said as she walked into her brother's room and looked at him gardening.

"What is it Di?"

"Sugar free sweets made for you by Kushi"

"I don't want any"

"Fine I will leave it here in any case. Anyway I need you to do something for me. We need to get all the party preprations going for the anniversary and I need to get the happy couple out of the house for a few hours. Kushi has agreed to take them shopping for the baby, but I need you to go with them as well. You know it's going to be noisy here and you hate that.."

Arnav walked over to his bed and sat down. Anjali decided to take a seat next to her brother who looked tormented. She knew he was about to retaliate and say that he didn't want to go, but she knew he wanted to as well. After all, Arnav has been ecstatic about becoming an uncle. He has ordered the best of everything for his Niece and since Kushi left, the news of the pregnancy was the only thing that had made him smile. And she knew that too. Also, a chance to spend some time away from Kushi was much needed.

"Chote, don't do this"

"Don't do what Di"

"Don't push away your only chance at being happy. I know you have a short temper, but your temper can't rule you. If you let this go now, you may never get it back.."

With that she stood up and walked away.

Arnav sat there staring at the tray of sweets and once he knew his sister was out of site, decided to have a bite of everything that was on the tray.

"She makes sweets for everyone. Even the big bad monster" he thought to himself with a smile on his face.. After finishing half the tray, he decided that he needed to get some sleep. Tomorrow was going to be a long day and he needed his energy.

Kushi decided to excuse herself from everyone and make it an early night. She was tired and she needed to get some work done before she called it a night. And more than anything else, she needed some quiet peace of mind. She walked into her room and got into her PJs and Kurti before she turned on her laptop and propped herself up on the bed. Suddenly she heard her name being called out. She got out of bed and walked over to her door and opened it.

"It sounds like "His" voice" she told herself and wondered what was going on. She saw that his door was not shut completely and decided to see what was going on. She peeped into see what's going on and realized that he kept saying her name over and over again. "Devi Maiyya what on earth is happening?" she asked herself as she continued to stare at the man that was saying her name in his sleep. Should she wake him up or just walk away?

Meanwhile, Arnav's worst nightmare had come true. He was at home when Kushi walked in with a big bright smile on her face. She was with that idiot Nande Kishore and she looked ecstatic. The stupid man next to her looked like a total moron he thought. The rest of the family had been in the middle of dinner when she had walked in with this idiot, so everyone was there.

"Everyone, we have an announcement" Kushi said happily.

"Nanneh Ji just proposed and I said "Yes" We're getting married!!!!!!!!!!!"

There was shock around the table followed by a round of applause. Everyone was walking over to wish the couple.

Arnav suddenly stood up and yelled out and said "NO!!"

"What?" Everyone said looking around at him.

"You can't marry him" He yelled at Kushi as he walked toward her

"Why not? And why do you care about who I marry?"

He circled the couple while everyone stared at him in awe.

"Have you taken a good look at this man Kushi? And his stupid accent. How can you even think about marrying him??"

Nandhe Kishore stood stone faced. He knew Arnave back in school and he knew his temper as well. He wasn't going to say a word.

"I will marry whom ever I want too Arnav Singhe Raizada. Please butt out of my personal life"

"I dare you to try Kushi Kumare Gupta, because I am never going to let that happen"

With that he suddenly awoke. His forehead was beaded with sweat and he realized that it was just a dream.

"Just a dream thank god" he mumbled. As he was about to go back to sleep, he noticed a familiar face standing at his door peeping in.

He froze at the realization of who it was...

Chapter 8 - Part 2 to be contd.

So how do you think this is going to turn out everyone? Hmmm.. I haven't figured that out myself, but let me know how all of you want this part to play out!!!
