Chapter 8
She picked out a pair of Green tights and a simple Yellow Kurta top. she scattered to find her green shawl which she draped around her. She moved over to dressing table in the outfit and fixed her hair up in a simple pony tail. She was still feeling like hell. She looked down at her arms and noticed the bangles. She had wanted to take them off, but something in her did not allow it.
When she was finally done a few minutes later, she walked over to the connecting door. She knew Abhay was going to be at the hotel shortly and she wanted to let Arnav know that Abhay was going to be there and she had wanted to speak to both the men. She opened the door to find Arnav walking around in nothing but a pair of blue jeans looking for a shit to wear. His body was perfectly chiseled and he looked like a male model. She started blushing again.
"Hi" she said trying to get his attention from the doorway
"Oh Hi" he said as he put on a white shirt.
"I ordered some breakfast for you. It should be up soon" he said looking around to find his watch.
"Ok well, can you come see me once your done getting ready?" she asked him
"Sure, give me 5 minutes and I'll be there" he told her before she walked back into the living area in her room.
As she walked in, there was a knock on the door and she walked over to see if it was Abhay. It was Room Service instead. The staff had brought in a tray of food which included some toast and a few other breakfast items. It was a lot of food and she wondered how she was going to have all of it. She poured herself a hot coffee and sat down on the corner of the sofa to take a few sips while Arnav walked in and sat in the chair opposite her. He sat down next to her and she asked him if he wanted a cup of coffee. He nodded his head and as he was going to fix himself a cup, she stopped him.
"I'll get it" she said and walked over to the food trolley to get it ready. While she was getting his coffee ready she looked over to him and decided to tell him about Abhay.
"I need to talk you. And Abhay" she said
"Why?" he asked
"Because he's my friend and he is somehow connected to you. So I need to know what the hell is going on"
"But I will explain it to you. You and I need to talk first.." he said
"No. You involved him in this, so he needs to explain himself. He will be here soon. We are going to talk abut this before "WE" talk about anything else. And that's final" she said handing him the cup of coffee.
They both sat their in silence and they finally heard a knock on the door. Kushi immediately ran towards it and knew it had to be Abhay. She opened the door and found him at her door. But he also saw someone else there. Anjali Di.

Anjali had been unable to sleep all night. She knew that she had to do something to fix what had happened. Chote had left the house and had not even told her where he was going. And Abhay. She had seen Abhay after all these year. She had no idea what had happened to him and she didn't even know that Chote was in touch with Abhay all this time. On top of that Payal had told her about Kushi's departure from the Raizada Mansion. She knew what she had to do. But she didn't want to tell anyone else. If Abhay was involved, then she has to deal with this on her own.
She woke up very early and put on a simple yellow saree. She didn't want to wear white anymore, so she managed to find something that was NOT white yet was simple enough so that it would not attract any attention.
She had asked the driver to take her to Abhay's house. She knew he was an early riser and hoped that a lot had not changed when it came to that. She walked up bravely to his door and knocked on the door.
Someone opened the door for her and asked her what they could do for her.
"I'm looking for Abhay Mehetha.. Does he still live here?"
"Yes. He's upstairs. I'll get him for you. Please come in and sit down. Can I get you something to drink Madam?" she asked her
"No that's fine" Anjali said smiling at the maid.
Anjali sat their impatiently looking around. The house was beautiful. It looked very different from what it was when she was last here many years ago. It was somehow brighter and very lively although at the moment it looked empty.
"Anjali! Your here?" she suddenly heard his voice.
"Hello Abhay" she said. She did not smile at him. She wasn't here for her. She was here for Chote. She was doing this for him.
"What are you doing here?" she asked
"I need to talk to you. About Kushi and Chote" she said still very sternly.
"Ok" he said as he walked over to sit across from her. He was nervous to be so close to her after all these years. He had heard about her husband and he had wanted to be there to comfort her. But it didn't feel right, so he had avoided her instead.
"What the hell is going on Abhay?"
"Why don't we take a walk in the garden Anjali.. I don't want to wake up Ma. She's resting in her room" he said as he got up and led her to the garden.
Anjali followed her quietly wondering how Ma was doing. She had been very close to her and she was like her own mother. But after what had happened she had not kept in touch and she bit her lip regretting it.
"Is Ma ok?" she asked Abhay
"Mmm. So now what is it you want to know about Arnav and Kushi?" he asked her as he walked into the garden.
Anjali looked around the garden. It was beautiful. It was very different from what it had looked like and she was taken aback by how wonderful it really was. She finally managed to speak to him.
"I saw what happened at the pool yesterday. And I want you to explain what happened" she told him
He knew she expected nothing but the truth from him and he was ready to tell her everything. So he started telling her how he had met Arnav a few years ago and how they had become friends. He went on to explain what had happened with Kushi and the year he had spent with KK Group. She learned about her brother's true intentions and it touched her heard. Her Chote was a very misunderstood man and she had to make this right for him.
She listened to every word Abhay was saying to him as they sat down on a garden bench surrounded by beautiful flowers.
"You know Anjali, I know your not going to want to hear this. But if you heard everything that happened last night, you must have heard what I told Arnav about you" he said nervously. She looked at him more intently and noticed a few grey hairs and the stubble on his face. He looked the same, but older and mature. He still had the boyish twinkle in his eyes and it made her heart melt. But she wasn't ready to forgive him yet. So she turned away to look at the garden.
"This place looks so different" she said.
"Yes. Your brother got me addicted to gardening funny enough. And a lot has changed since Papa passed away" he said still looking at her. He took her breath away and he wanted her back so badly.
"I'm sorry about your father" she said.
"No don't be sorry. He was not what he seemed to be. He made our lives hell" he said.
"How is your sister doing by the way?" she asked
"She's in Canada at the moment. She left right after Papa passed away to complete her MBA" he said smiling at her.
Suddenly Abhay's phone rang and he looked at the screen to realize who the caller was. After last night, he had not expected a call from her.
"Hello"
"Hi Abhay. It's me Kushi"
"What is it Kushi?" he asked her. He knew she had good reason to be upset with him and he had been worried about her. He was glad to hear her voice reassuring her that she was ok.
"We need to talk. Last night.. thing were messy. I need to speak to you face to face. I'm at the Oberio. Room 2022. Can you come meet me here?"
"Yeah sure. I'll see you in a bit" he said as he heard her hang up.
"Is she ok?" asked Anjali.
"Yeah. She wants to meet me at the Oberoi. Knowing her she's probably going to rip my head off. God help me... " he said looking worried.
"I'm coming with you" Anjali suddenly said.
"Do you really think that's a good idea?" he asked.
"I need to talk to her Abhay. I need to explain to her about Chote as well. I owe her that much since my hot headed brother has trouble communicating with her for some reason" she said.
He knew she was as strong willed as her brother and he had no choice but to go along with. He admired her strength and beauty. They made her the woman she is and he loved her very much.
"Anjali, if Arnav deserves a chance to have his story told to Kushi, don't you think I deserve a chance to tell you mine as well?" he asked.
Anjali stood up suddenly almost tripping. Abhay caught her just in the nick of time. As she straightened up he looked at her again.
"Anjali please.."
"Abhay this is about Chote. I'm here for him. I don't want to keep Kushi waiting. Lets go now. I'll take my car"
"No you should come with me" he said.
"No I can manage" she said.
"I know you can manage, but I insist" he said looking at her looking at her with a big pout of his face. she couldn't resist and agreed to it.
As they walked to Abhay's car, he was suddenly excited. He was so close to her after spending so many years away from her. And a little voice in him told him that he may get his second chance with her after all..
