Oh so they have to get married under unusual circumstances..
May be if Kunal gets totally drunk to get over his haunting night mares
and ends up in Yami's room since it was his old room.
His cahcha may have witnessed everything and he is obliged to marry Yami to save them from further humiliation.

I like this idea. He does not see Yami at all, only the superimposition of the actress and his guilt. Not understanding anything about her or who she is, what has happened to her. Sometimes people get caught up in their own angst so much that they exclude the whole world out of it. His actions would come across as hateful, spiteful, insensitive to Yami who would truly create her own impression of him based on these few days that she knows him. He should not notice her at all and the only chink in the armor should be the child.

I find that removing all preconceived notions of a person is perhaps hardest in life. Work your magic,H.

Can Yami also be a reporter who is quite famous in Lucknow or may be have a best friend who is a famous reporter? She should be aware of his exile. How does a person handle this when the facts are known?

Yami is aware of all the skeletons in Kunal's closet.
His past which he ran away from is haunting him every minute

Maybe the idea of a forced relation is the only way it would work then. They live in a crumbly house so some workers with chacha come to find them locked up somehow, wet hair and all is in the precap. For her honor, chacha forces them into a relationship. Maybe not marraige, too drastic, (I mean marraige and sacred vows etc should only come when the feeling is right and you mean it, what do you say), maybe say that he is her mangetar to the townspeople. Also as much as I am sure no one else will agree to this, I don't want it to all about attraction right away.

Good job girls. I love the nuances you have given me to work with, making it all the more difficult.

I took the liberty of renaming Yami just as Kunal has become Dhruv now.Hope you girls are ok with the names? If not please vote for the names and give me the final choice.

For Hima's suggestion...
We can make a funny scene out of your recommendation 😆. The lights are out and Leher is walking with a candle in the hand. The wind makes a hollow buzz around him while the transistor in the tea shop plays either...

"Noori..."

or

"Gumnaam hai koi..."

For Ashavi's suggestion...
This calls for a confrontation where Leher meets with Dhruv and tells him that she is not the actress and that he has to start seeing her for who she is. We could have him, show up at the school next day and take her out for a walk where he asks her to tell more about her...things that define her, so that he can get to know her just as she is, without him imposing the image of someone else onto her.
