Step one you say we need to talk
He walks you say sit down it's just a talk
He smiles politely back at you
You stare politely right on through
Some sort of window to your right
As he goes left and you stay right
Between the lines of fear and blame
You begin to wonder why you came
Anjali walked away another part of her heart and life breaking. "I'm not his Di" repeating in her mind. She had been through alot in the past six months without a word, she would go through this as well. He didn't need her anymore, after all he had Khushi.
Six months ago everything had come crashing down with the great revelation of Shyam.
Her husband oogled Khushi, her brother prioritized Khushi, her family adored and believed her. Also, she had been the one to bring happiness to the family with her cheerful persona, make her brother laugh even though she had tried and failed all these years. The revelation had been the final nail in the coffin and she saw green! Not much had made sense at that moment in time when she had accused her. Although, she could not hate her, hating had never been her forte.
There had been two victims to the fiasco six months ago, while one had been prioritized, the other had been shunned. Each had tried their ways of recuperation, one had been sympathized with, the other scorned.
Khushi had the support of her family and Chote, while Anjali was left with nothing in the harshest time of her life. Still, she had pulled through.
Like a phoneix, she arose from the ashes of her previous life stronger and independant.
Six months ago, her life had been destroyed, she had pulled it down, brick by brick.
Six months ago -
After Khushi had left RM.
Arnav stood still staring at the door she had walked through minutes ago. Nothing more essential that her, hoping she would turn to look back even once, just this once. While La held the reins of the house trying to explain in to Anjali and the rest of the family.
"Di please listen to me. He is cheat, he married you for a comfortable life."
"No La, she is stealing Arnav from you, like she stole my husband. Dont fall for her innocent face." Anjali had countered.
"No, you need to see this before you come to this conclusion." a new voice entered the scene. It belonged to Arjun R. the detective they had hired.
He had plugged the CD into the VCR and allowed the story to unfurl itself. Tears had been shed, cries and abused hurled at the semi - conscious man and then the tears had dried.
Anjali stared at the blank screen of the TV for a long time after the scene had ended, trying to put together the events of one day and her life. It was a cruel joke. The one time she had fought for herself, her life and family, she had picked the wrong end of the stick. La's soothing hand pulled her out of her thoughts.
She steadied herself as she rose, a new resolve building.
The RM was filled with the sirens of the police van drawing in not long after and a voice, cold and ruthless echoed through the expanse of the mansion. A voice, that they were not familiar with, but acquainted with the person who it belonged to.
"Inspector, please take him away. I will be there soon to lodge a formal complaint for bigamy and fraud." she was no longer the timid careful Anjali Jha, she was Anjali Singh Raizada.
She moved towards her Chote, trying to apologize to him for her behavior, he stood still his eyes still on the door. He had said no word since she had left, just moved aside as the policemen dragged a protesting Shyam out of the mansion.
Yes, Mansion, he could no longer call it home. Not where she had been so ruthlessly sullied and not where they could never be together.
"Chote..."
He looked at his Di for a whole minute before he left mechanically to his room.
Two weeks later
She sat in her room staring at the singular piece of paper she clutched in her hands. She looked pale and worn out, aged in a short period of time. This must be her punishment for her words she thought.
Each step she tried to take to move ahead with her life, she just fell backwards. Fell back to the vile creature she once called her husband.
"Anjali will you marry me. I will love you and cherish you. You are the queen of my heart and no amount of years will ever change that."
He had said to her nearly four years ago and many times later. He had called her Rani Sahiba since then, never her name. A cold mirthless laughter rose to her lips at the irony of time. She was to be the queen of his heart and yet he dared to break hers.
"I am pregnant" the words played in her head again and again, unsure of what was right. The right that she felt or the right that the world had chosen for her.
Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life

Sorry for the late update. have been very busy.
So what do you think. Still hate Anjali? there is another part to this chapter before I continue with the story.
