I so agree with you... in most FF's I see the same. But while I can relate to the female lead's pain, I dont love seeing women in pain. Infact, I am a total opposite.
True, in Dreams I wanted Maaneet to be together at last - but it has something to do with Maan and Geet pairing and the love Maan developed for her and totally acknowledging how he didnt at all deserve having Geet. Your words are totally appreciated - rape by any one..be it unknown person or by own husband is always unforgivable act..
Talking about myself, I connect to women and their pain cus I am a women myself. And at a certain extent I have been through some of the pains other women have been through.
Also, throughout the history women have always been oppressed and the flow still continues today. Once again from my perspective, it is easier to write about something that u can feel, know, understand..and that is why some of us write about painful FF's in which female leads have pain.
Cus we have seen and felt the pain in ourselves, family members, friends, society, etc.
Also, Bollywood has always created a fantasy in its storyline. We have all grown up with it. "The Prince Charming" and "Happily ever after".
Therefore, we all want the same which we desire the deepest within ourselves. The dream and the desire to have a happy ending takes over all the other rationale of our mind and body. We all want happy ending, cus pain is just too painful.
