A Wish
You stand here in front of me
Soaking in your magnificent glory
I stand here beside you
Emitting the love that I have for you
We walk together with our hands softly intertwined
And our heads held high in front of the world..
I kiss your cheeks with a smile
And you hold my waist with a sense of protectiveness
We show the world our perfect lives
Us being together in the now, here and forever
But, we both know that it is not true...
The truth is bitter than the illusion we have created
I no longer reside in your memory
Or fill the essense of your heart and soul
Your eyes no longer sparkle seeing my face
Your day no longer seems to brighten with my presense
Your heart no longer beats faster seeing me nearer to you
Your soul no longer carves for me to fill you with my love
But I still wish that you would remember... that I am yours and you mine
With mind, body and soul.
I wonder why destiny played such a cruel game on us
Only our names remain attached and not our souls
I wish I can be a part of your reality if not the whole
Because I hate to be apart from you and your soul
But how can I force you my love?
When you do not even remember me
I cry when you ignore me with your actions
I cringe when you are insult with me in front of others
I die a million deaths when you reject my love for you
I feel so lonely, helpless and defeated in front of our destiny
Tell me what should I do my love?
Because here I am, standing beside you
Your wife with just the name tag attached to her
Wishing that you would remember.. that I am yours and you mine
With mind, body and soul.
