@all Thia was actually supposed to be a quick update, given that I had written it from so long, but something or the other always makes me late in updating😕😆

Hope its a fine read...

Part 23:

It was after the dinner time, which went fairly well, considering that Nupur had with the help of Shilpa Sharma cooked a fine dinner to start with. Mayank hadn't commented much on the food and had it just like any other dinner for him.

She wondered if he didn't like it at all. This again bothered Nupur, but not enough to make it a big deal already. She was realizing one thing, that the thought different and acted different in almost all the situations possible. The things that mattered to her, probably did't matter to him and the things that must be mattering to him; she may not even know them yet.

Smaller issues apart, all of this wasn't exactly affecting her liking towards him yet. There was a growing stubbornness in her, she didn't know why it was growing so strongly though, to have them both in sync as soon as possible.

Frankly speaking, being Nupur Bhushan, she had never known being so distant to anyone whether in thoughts or in words or elsewise too. It was like if she liked someone, she did need to have the clarity of thoughts with them, what that person was, what his dreams were and what did he want? She liked having lives connected with others. And here, it was her Husband she was talking about. This word definitely made her held her breath for a second, atleast for a second before which she could continue her thinking ahead, what with him having hugged her so unexpectedly and so naturally as if it were the simple gesture from him. When, she knew it was not, atleast as far as she had understood him from Shilpa Sharma's point of view and her own too. If only he shared much more of his words with her than he already did. She sighed and continued watching the movie when she saw him walk in the doors of their room.

Quite impulsively, she almost shouted cheerfully, "Mayank!!! Tumne yeh movie dekhi hai?"

Mayank looked at her surprised for her sudden excitement. He just had to see which the movie was, that excited her so much. He wasn't too much into watching movie and stuff. He hardly watched, but yes, he did watch them sometimes.

He looked at the television set and saw that she was watching, "Rang De Basanti". It was an Aamir Khan movie. He liked his acting because it never felt like he was acting; he was just the character he was playing and that is what made it all come out real good.

Mayank nodded, "Haan!"

Nupur smiled, though she had not been watching the movie too seriously before Mayank came in, all blames to the thoughts of Mayank that she was lost in, she was NOW excited enough to watch it eagerly now. She said happily, "Achcha! Toh chalo naa, dekhte hain"

Mayank looked at her confused and said, "Nupur, maine kaha ki maine yeh movie dekhi hai already"

Nupur said as a matter-of-factly, "Toh? Phir se nahi dekh sakte kya?"

Mayank stated as a matter-of-factly too, "Phirse? Usse kuch badal jayega kya? Movie toh same hi rahegi naa"

Nupur said dejectedly,"Matlab? Ek baar dekh li toh phir kabhi nahi dekhte kya?"

Mayank replied honestly, "Haan!"

Nupur wondered can there ever be a point of agreement for them, because she loved watching the movies she liked over and over again. She tried not to wince, though failing to not let Mayank see it, she said, "Achcha!!?"

She tried to be calm. She knew she needed to let things be a little, without forcing anything onto him. The last thing she would want is to feel forced on Mayank herself. She managed a smile and said, "Mujhe… mujhe bahot pasand hai" just saying it for the sake of it.

Mayank smiled formally first but then at he gesture. He did realize that she was probably trying to just spend some time with him because if she just wanted company, she could have easily had his Ma's company in watching a movie. She was just like Nupur, wanting to repeat the movies already watched.

He replied back, "Yes, it's a good movie Nupur"

Nupur wondered, if it was just her or did her name sound different when he said it. Ignoring the fractional crumble in her stomach, she watched back towards t.v., getting the point by now, that he will not be joining her now.

Mayank smiled as he saw her settle her unscattered hair behind her ears and if he could just now, he would have told her, that she looked cute always specially when she tried to act as if indifferent to his words.

He went ahead and joined her sitting beside her on the bed, getting hold of a pillow in his lap; he sat down to watch the movie.

Nupur was bewildered and amused at his action.

What he had done now said a lot, how could he be so sweet to do stuff for her so silently? Again the question came back to her, sometimes he was so rude to her and sometimes so utterly sweet that she wondered if she'll always have those highs and lows in her life with him around.

What made her almost speechless was the fact that he denied right in her face and smiling sweetly came to sit beside her. She sighed out loud, not being able to help it, because his silent gesture impacted her much more than it should have. Ofcourse, all her concentration on the movie being lost, she felt a bit guilty and said, "Mayank. Thanks!!! Par agar tumhe yeh movie nahi dekhni toh theek hai"

Mayank actually was doing it so that she may like it. Watching her cry in the evening had been too much for him, he would have agreed to her even if she would have asked him to play Antakshari today. Onsecond thoughts, he realized that now was over-committing.Maybe he wouldn't have, but true, he didn't want to make her unhappy now and yes, he wanted to make her smile like the way she had just now before asking him not to watch the movie. Actually he wanted to talk some more to her. About what, he didn't know, almost anything whether meaningful or meaningless but he did. But if she had wanted a movie then a movie it was.

He replied back, "No Nupur its okay to me too"

They actually watched in silence for sometime but soon Mayank saw himself reconfirming his habit that he CANNOT watch an already watched movie and Nupur saw him bring out a book and start reading it.

She opened her mouth just a little and then closed it immediately when Mayank saw her gesture and looking at her he confessed, "ah….Nupur, I guess main dobara movies nahi dekh sakta" Though e could repeat the books once read, he wondered he he should suggest her that. But looking at the darting look from Nupur, which by the way Mayank had seen after a long time, he decided against suggesting it.

First time he had seen that look from her was when e had helped her cellphone from falling and caught it and was returning it to Nupur, unknowing that it must be her on the station again he was meeting and had exclaimed"Nupur, tum phir 1 hour late ho office ke liye?"

Did he just realize that he was falling for that look or what? He kept staring back with a slight smile on his face when Nupur realized that she was pointlessly being angry on him but he need not atleast take it so casually that it made him smile for no reason. Maybe, he loved teasing her and will always do.

She shifted her darting look to the t.v. without saying much and said crossly without looking at him and a bit sternly, "Maine toh pehle hi kaha tha naa, ki agar tumhe nahi dekhna toh mat dekho. Main kahan force kar rahi thi. Waise bhi hamein wahi karna chahiye jo hamein pasand ho! Tum shaukh se apni kitaab padho"

Mayank again smiled, she actually was more cute than he had until now understood. She wanted it all, him beside her watching the movie with her, letting him do whatever he wanted, and even getting angry if he chose another option. He felt like wanting to take her in a hug and tell her how her acts were so childish yet so adorable. But that was completely not him to behave so, he had already hugged her twice today and he realized he was trying to over-do this hug-act now, what was he up to? Scare her away?

But giving a miss to all that he spoke another truth, "Yes, you are right! Actually! Nupur hum itne formal ho kar woh karein jo doosre ko chahiye aur phir jhooti tasalli dein? I don't think ki yeh itna achcha idea hai. Isse toh hamara base relationship ka base hi jhootha hoga naa! Isse achcha hai ki hum wahi kare jo hamein pasand ho taaki hum ek doosre ko waise hi accept kar sakein jaise hum hain! "…aur pasand bhi kar sakein is what he wanted to add but he didn't. He wondered why he now had to continue the evening talk now, now that she wasn't even asking for it. And from when did he like talking all these stuffs? But then he didn't even like thinking about 'hugging someone' which he was now doing a lot! He wondered if Nupur got to know that what she will think of him.

Nupur looked at him through her thick lashes, the words he spoke out of the blue and the way he spoke those, it made her see her firm believes shake, always. Yes, it must better that they were truthful much more than appeasing to each other. Why did he have to be so right, always?

Did he even know what his words did to her? It made her feel insensible for the most of her demands and immature too and a want of being in his shade and protection so that she wouldn't drift the wrong way her her thoughts may have made her do.

She nodded her head positively, awed by him and said, "Hmm" with all her anger fading away while he took it as a positive sign that she understood always whatever he meant to speak to her, he got back to his book without anymore stress.
