Part 17:
Geet's eyes brimmed with tears as she saw Maan and Riya chattering away..it had just been a few hours since Riya had found out Maan was her dad and already she was
not ready to leave his side...Geet wiped the tears that were about to fall and went up to the duo and said:'Riya its getting late we better go home'
R-Haan Mamma..Chalo papa lets go...
G-Baby papa is not coming with us...
R-WHY?
She looked at Maan and Maan nodded and said:'Baby we will meet tomorrow you see..I have some work to do..I will be back in some days okay?'
R-Papa you will not leave me na?I dont know how I will live without you..
Geet turned around she couldnt face her daughter's pain...somewhere deep down she knew...that what she was doing was wrong but she refused to believe it...she couldnt
let go of the past...so easily she needed some time...
Riya and Maan had said their goodbyes...and Riya went and sat down in the car with a pout...Maan felt a stab of pain parting from his daughter..he had barely gotten
a few hours to spend with her but knowing Geet he was thankful for these hours too...he looked at Geet and said:'Umm...woh Geet I'll see you tomorrow'
G-I told Riya that doesnt mean you have any right on her...Get it?
All Maan could do was nodd as he didnt want Geet to know he was getting weak at the thought of keeping distance from his own daughter...
G-Maan you can come and meet her everyday till this project goes on..thats it then you can forgot her and she will forget you...
M-You too will forget me?
G-I have already forgotten you...
M-Then why keep Riya?
G-She is my daughter alone Maan...
M-Yes..you are right...you and me are nothing to each other now...but I will keep in contact every once in a while even after you leave okay?
G-We'll see about that...
M-Bye
G-Bye..
Maan watched the two women in his life whom he loved to no extents leave...the ache in his heart returned again..his body was going weak but somehow he managed to reach home...
as soon as he reached home..he was met with a worried Arjun who bombarded him with questions...
A-Bro..Hows Geet?Hows Riya?
First all Maan wanted to do was lock himself in his room but something about Arjun's questions stopped him...
M-You're worried about Geet?And how do you know about Riya?
A-Leave all that How are they?
M-They're fine..
A-Ahh..Thank God..
Maan looked at Arjun weirdly but he didnt have any strength to probe further in this matter so he retired to his room and he was so exhausted he fell asleep...but it was not
peaceful at all..the whole night images of Riya and Geet haunted him...and especially Brij's words...which pierced his heart even in his sleep...he could hear him saying:'Someone eles's wife..
only Geet's daughter...'
All these words played in his minds as images of all the incidents since he met Geet again flashed in his mind...he was sweating in his sleep...he was tossing and turning
the whole night..
While on the other side,Geet closed her eyes and images of the kiss come in her mind...she opens her eyes again...she couldnt believe she had let Maan kiss her and not
only that but had kissed him back?How was that possible,was that even possible?She knew it was not momentarily...it was something that 5 years of being apart had caused yet
she couldnt face her feelings...the world could call her anything..scared..coward..anything but she would neve give in this heart again which did nothing but hurt her,she closed
her eyes hoping sleep would come..she was successful to an extent..sleep did come but it was a disturbed issue with Geet thinking about Brij's words:'How long will
you not tell him haan?When he finds out what you did..he will never forgive you'...WHEN HE FINDS OUT..these words lingered her mind all night...At around 4 am
her phone rang...she picked it up sleepily but hearing the voice at the other end all sleep vanished..all she felt like doing was jumping up and down...he was coming back...
after 3 years..she would see him...her saviour.
Morning:
Geet was rushing around the house making sure everything was alright for his arrival...she was really excited for him to return..how she not suppose to be?She was going to see
him after a whole 3 years..he was the person who ha helped her...he was her first boss...he held great respect in her eyes...how he had consoled her along with Yash and Rahul..
How he always use to say she should tell Maan and how he use to laugh at her?...This person held alot of importance in her life...he was the reason she was what she is today...
and now he held even more importance...now that he was...
Rahul's voice broke through her thoughts as he said:'Geet all set for the welcome?'
G-Haan...
R-Geet woh I invited everyone over...
G-Who everyone?
R-Woh Armaan and Shilpa...
G-Its okay but how do they know him?
R-Woh if you forgot...diabetes...
G-Oh yes..they treated him...
R-You're okay with it?
G-Ofcourse...Armaan and Shilpa are also my friends...
R-Acha?
G-Armaan made a few mistakes he regrets now..thats it!!
R-True...
G-Waise where is Khushi haan?I bet she must be getting ready like mad..after all she is seeing him after so many months...
R-Yes...she's so excited...
After some time the door bell rings...Geet rushed to open it but her face fell down only to see Maan standing there...she says in a low voice:'Come in'
M-Where's Riya?
G-In her room...
M-Geet I wanted to discuss something with you...
G-Come take a seat...
In Riya's room:
Everyone is surronding Riya..and talking to her and Riya is nodding seriosuly...
R-Dekho Riya baby...when your papa talks to you...you are suppose to somehow tell him that Yash and Geet are not married...
Ri-But how uncle?
Y-See tell him,that you have been waiting for him and that mom always used to say that she missed him...and that you missed him and tell him that Geet always used to
say how much she loved Maan and how much Maan loved her?And tell him about Meera aunty...that how I love her...but then...
K-I think she gets the picture...Haina baby?
Ri-Yes aunty..but why are we doing this?
Armaan-So that you all can live together okay?
Ri-Okay...
Then Riya rushed off towards her toys and the gang phone up someone and discussed something with him...and when they cut the call..they were all grinning like fools..
they hi-fived each other...and all said:'Mission Maaneet is ready to launch'
Geet looked at the time again and again...she barely heard what Maan said..she didnt even realize when Maan had left and rahul had come and sat beside's her...
Rahul kept his hand on hers and said:'Arey Geet he's okay...i just talked to him he's coming in half an hour...'
G-Really?
R-Haan waise Geet why are you so anxious to see him?
G-I want to thank him..its all because of him...Me and Riya are in this world today..he holds alot of gratitude in my life..
R-Geet dont mind it but except Maan every other guy in your life holds such high importance...
Geet turned her face away..how could she tell him that no other guy could ever replace Maan's position in her life...he was the only Man she had trusted...she had ever loved...he meant more than the world
to her but she could not forgot the accusations he hd hurled upon her and he never even admited it was his mistake...how she would leave all her friends for Maan's sake but she couldnt tell that to anyone could she?
No..she had way too much ego...putting a smile on her face she answered:'Rahul...Maan is an old chapter'
She saw Rahul smirk...but didnt know what he was thinking?
**Rahuls POV**
When she said Maan was an old chapter I smirked unwillingly because I knew:
A-That chapter had never been closed or old
B-This chapter was going to re-open now...
C-This chapter will get a happy ending
**Ends of POV**
Maan couldnt believe all that he had just heard from Riya...he had asked her how the past years had been while he was away..and she told him everything she knew and from what he found out
he was sure that Geet and Yash were not married...his heart fluttered in joy at this thought..so his Geet was still his Geet..he had a chance of a happy family afterall...then
something struck his mind..so did that mean what happened five years back wasnt true?
If Geet was pregnant with Riya...she couldnt be pregnant with Yash's child..Had he done something wrong?But she had admitted herself right?That she loved Yash and slept with him
but then he remembered he also had said similar things in his ego...could it be possible?He was wrong?Could it be possible he could have a happy family with Geet?
His happiness knew no bounds...he kissed Riya on the forhead and thanked her for telling her all this...he would talk to Geet and clear everything out..he would find
out what happened in the past?
He heard the door-bell ring...he went outside to see who it was...he saw a young man..maybe abve 25 enter the house...Maan had to admit the guy had looks to die for...
but what he saw next burned his heart!
Geet saw him and smiled...she recieved a smile in return...she didnt know what to do?How to welcome him?When she saw Khushi tell her okay...she could read it on her face..
it clearly said:'You knew him before me...you have more rights'
So without a single thought she rushed to him and hugged him...and he hugged her back...she didnt know why but tears formed in her eyes again...the tears started flowing
as she whipered:'Arnav' against his chest.
