went to my son's school for Open Day...took almost the whole day...he had lost his sweater the day before...when asked where he was so vague abt it..."on the roof " he said...cudn't find a roof on the first floor where his class is...nd guess what! the Sweater was on the asbestos sheet near the window, thrown out along with the multitude of pencils nd erasers!!
at night he was laughing in his dream...when i asked abt it he is saying "it's so funny"..."what is?"... "throwing the pencils on the roof!!"
he has lost his House t-shirt yesterday, wonder where i'm going to find it!!!😭so u can guess how my day had been 😉
...apart from that i'm haunted by the song i recently downloaded into my MP3...crying in pathos at times..its 'tum bin jiya jaye kaise...' from the movie 'tum bin'...let me take u to the scene i imagine with that...Geet ,as she is the heroine of all the FF's here, holding on to something...any gift from Maan... and singing the song in soulful voice...tears seeping thru her closed eyes... calling out unconsciously, or shud i say telepathic, to Maan...
hear the song with your eyes closed nd tell me doesn't it haunt u too?
got to get rid of it to proceed to the party with Geet of Surrogate😆

"Pari!" Daadi's mind exclaimed as she saw Geet coming down the stairs, dressed for the party. There was no word more suited to describe Geet, she reflected with pride. The long white gown in Grecian style that Sameera selected for Geet was just perfect. Though the silver bowed ribbon tied below her bust line, the smooth shoulder left bare and the slender column of her neck exposed by her hair do drew attention to femininity, one couldn't help but notice the delicate curve of her rosy cheeks and the innocence in her hesitant eyes. She was the example of a girl entering the graceful world of womanhood. Who could resist her beauty and innocence, least of all her grandson who was already half way in love with Geet! Suddenly she couldn't wait for Maan to see Geet.
"You look so beautiful! I'm sure every one will be curious to know who my beautiful protegee is. But come now...Maan must be wondering about us."
Geet followed Daadi with reluctance. She had tried to avoid going to the party, from the day Sameera had invited her. But Daadi had ganged up with Sameera refusing to let her back out. She had even tried presenting the matter to Maan sir, who seemed too busy to be troubled with such triviality at first. Then had joined force with Daadi saying "it's just a party Geet" as if he didn't wish to be troubled further with her feminine insecurities. Then when she saw the excitement Daadi was having while taking her shopping, she couldn't find it in her to be adamant in her refusal. Sameera had taken it upon herself the task of finding the suitable dress and accessories to go with it. Within those meetings she started to like Sameera, or Sam as she preferred her friends to call her. She was surprised to find Sameera so openly friendly, with none of the attitude a few of her wealthy classmates had had. Those days seems so far away everything had changed and she could never regain what was lost!
Today standing before the mirror, she had the strange sensation of living someone else's life...gone was the Geet who ran thru the fields of Hoshiarpur, care free with the wind whistling in her ears. Gone was the Geet, who was the pride and joy of her parents...gone was their expectation for her future. Now she didn't recognize herself, the stranger who stared back at her when she looked into the mirror. Who was she? She had lost her identity! She didn't want to call herself Geet Handa anymore...she gave up her surname with her mother's death...no she didn't want to be a Handa anymore...now she had no relations to claim as hers...though she was pregnant, the child who was a part of her body didn't belong to her according to the contract. She was a mother who would become a stranger to her child once he is born...a woman who would have nothing more to live for... she bit the insides of her cheeks to hold back her tears, it wouldn't do her any good to wallow in self pity...to ruin the evening for others who were so kind to her... this was her fate, her life as Babaji molded it and she must live it according to His will. But for now, He was being benevolent...giving her a child whose very existence extended her life, an unborn child ...her very own to love and cherish and protect for a few months more, a Daadi who loved her like her daughter, a few friends, and...and Maan sir...Maan sir and Sameera.
She hadn't seen Maan sir since that afternoon. She was ordered to take the afternoon off as she was going for the party at night. Then Sameera had dragged her away to the parlour with her, to get her face and hair done. Now she understood how Cinderella must have felt when the Fairy Godmother transformed her. Sam had transformed her for the day. She had seen the wonder in Daadi's eyes and felt happy that she couldn't let her down and no one would sneer at Daadi for bringing a poor relation along. To day she looked beautiful and suitable to attend the high profile party thrown by the elite. Yet as the car entered the driveway of the hotel where the party was being held, she became apprehensive. As long as she stayed with Daadi she would be fine, she thought. Daadi has had promised to remain only for an hour or so. She tried to calm herself, pressing a hand to her thundering heart. The upward movement of the lift was making her dizzy and nauseous. 'Or is it the anticipation of finding Maan sir's reaction to her appearance?, a small voice taunted. Will he feel proud to be seen in her company?
Daadi patted Geet's cheek "don't worry beti, everything will be fine, we won't leave you alone." She held her hand as the lift opened and they moved forward, "Try to enjoy the party. We will return whenever you want to, so be calm." Before she entered the party hall daadi gave her hand a reassuring squeeze, "I know there will be no one more beautiful than my Geet tonight! So hold your head high and lets join the crowd."
Walking into the hall with Daadi she was amazed by the multitude of strangers present. Her eyes searched for the sole person whose presence could calm her and found him standing with his back towards her in conversation with an elegant couple. Just then the lady with him saw daadi and exclaimed "Savitriji". As she walked towards them with a beaming smile, Geet saw Maan turn and she caught her breath, "let him find me beautiful... please Babaji, let him think I look beautiful!"
