PART 30

She runs to the taxi stand on her foot and gets a taxi commanding the driver to take her to the accident area as quickly as possible. It was the first time in months she went out, went out in dark without covering her face, went out alone; first time she received a call, first time made a call, first time in months that she watched TV but she doesn't care; she doesn't care about anything. This very moment, she just cares about her husband-Sujal and his welfare and her goal to find him safe and sound.

She knows God had been unkind to her. She took it because she deserved it because of her bad karmas, because she knew she had hurt him. But God can't be so mean, he does not deserve it. That's unfair, so unfair on him. Not at all fair and she will fight, she will against it.

The auto driver stops at a distance from the area of incident saying, 'Madam, yahin tak jaa sakte hain'. Kashish shoves few notes towards him from her purse and runs in haste towards the direction. As she reaches nearer to the place she could see a crowd of people; it's a commotion with crowd and noise consisting of police, army men, common people, politicians, new reporters, and ambulance and police vans. But she has to reach the hotel

Kashish makes her way through the crowd struggling with all her might. At last as she starts to go inside she is stopped in way by some army men. As they tell her that it is a red alert area and she cannot enter. Kashish pleads saying that her husband might be there and she has to get through to find her husband, he might be in danger. The men try to pacify Kashish who was getting hyper with tension with each passing second, but she is unmanageable. They force her to leave saying that in the attack there were causalities and people have dies but same people are safe too but the government had relocated everyone to a safe area because of some special reason.

Kashish does not understand what could be the special reason for keeping her husband with them, when he might be hurt, might be sick, and might be hungry or thirsty. As Kashish become unmanageable few authorities there made arrangements to drop her back to her place against her will and despite of her protests.

Kashish glances at the wall clock which strikes 2. The tears resting on her cheeks have also dried. She sits on the sofa hugging her knees to her chest and resting her chin on her knees. Her heart is only chanting his name, as if repeating his name enough times would bring him back. She does not know what should she do, whom to contact, what to do to bring him back, may be even to know that he is fine. She thinks of Aamir...yes Aamir her heart leaps. She knew Aamir had many connections, he knew many top high society influential people. She picks up the phone dials Aamir's number.

He picks up the phone after several rings and grumbles a 'Hello'

'Aamir, I need your help right now!'

'Kashish?' He gets up with a start

'Please help me...wo attack hue naa ...hotel mein..Sujal wahan...wahan koi khabar nahi mahi mil rahi...please...' He voice breaks with her sobs

'Kashish...Kashish tum...'

'Aamir. Sujal musibat main hai. Please kuch karo. Pata lagao wo kahan hai'

Aamir is quite as Kashish rambles and sobs

'Kashish...kaisi ho tum?'

'STOP IT, AAMIR!!!! SUJAL MUSIBAT MEIN HAI; USKA PATA LAGAO ABHI!!!'

She shouts out with desperation throwing away the wrenched phone on the floor that cannot help her when she needs it and sobs her heart out digging her face in the pillow.
