Hi,

I wonder why many of you felt that last part was a short one. It was 1000+ words and that is the average I maintain. I will just assume it was so good so it went by in zoom (LOL)

Chapter 27 - First Band Practice

Maan, Geet, Rahul, Adi and Pinky got together in the studio at KH for their first band practice. Most of them had not been playing for some time now due to work or personal matters. They were really excited.

Maan started ? "Guys, first thing we have to make a pact. This time is reserved for our band. So to make it successful we have to promise ourselves that we will not miss a practice session till it is absolutely required. What say!!!"

Rahul remarked ? "Agreed!!! Otherwise I am sure we will fold within a month." Everybody nodded head in agreement.

"So what should we start with? How about something we already know to get in tune. We can start with composing stuff once we are back in some shape"

"I know I know?how about Pichle Saat Dinon Mein from Rock On" Pinky said excitingly. "Oh I love that song!!!"

Maan picked up his electric guitar while Geet and pinky were comfortable with keys. Rahul was at drums and Adi had a bass guitar.

They all started with Maan, Rahul and Geet providing vocals as well. Except Rahul who was on drums, they danced and had a fun gala time after a long time. They didn't even realize as one hour passed like a blink of eye.

After the session all sat on the floor exhausted. Pari and Annie joined in with tea and pakoras.

Pari ? "Uff this room feels stuffy." She opened the windows. It was raining and a cool breeze filled the room. Annie cupped her hands outside the window filling them with water. She took the water and splashed it on Pari. Pari screamed while others laughed.

Pari made a baby face and sat next to Rahul entwining her fingers with his. He took her dupatta and wiped her face lovingly. Annie giggled and suddenly the whole room was filled with romance and love.

Maan stole a glance at Geet. One of her curls had escaped her pony tail and was fluttering near her eyes. She looked angelic in a baby pink t-shirt. Maan's heart skipped a beat as she dipped the pakora in ketchup and ate it. It left a red tinge on her pink lips which she wiped with her tongue.

Geet looked at Maan only to find him staring at her lips. Her breath hitched as Maan blew into his tea cup and took a sip. His eyes were still on her. Even though they sat quite apart, Geet felt the heat and breath of that blow on her.

She sighed and looked down bringing the torment of those chocolate brown eyes to an end.

"Man, it has been really long. It felt so nice. Kuch bhi ho Maan lekin u haven't forgotten your dance moves buddy. Geet, you should have been in our college?you two would have set stage at fire" Adi remarked

Geet made a face ? "College and with you guys?bechara Maan if I would have been there iski itni girl friends kaise banti. Main to iska har break up Bauji ko mirch masale ke saath batati. "

Everybody pulled Maan's leg but Maan just smiled "sach kah rahi ho tum jaan?agar tum mere saath hoti to shayad ab tak to humare bache ho gaye hote"

After sometime, Rahul, Pari and Annie excused themselves.

Adi fumbled "Ummm?Maan?Geet?woh mujhe tum dono se kuch kahna tha"

Maan - "Haan bol"

Adi - "Woh?woh"

Geet - "Kya baat hai Adi?sab thik hai na"

Adi - "Nahin"

Pinky ? "Kya?"

Adi gulped ? "Nahin nahin?mera matlab?sab acha hai"

Maan ? "Oye hua kya hai?tu stammer kyon kar raha hai?bol na"

Adi said quickly "Woh main aur Pinky like each other and you guys need to talk to our families"

Maan, Geet ? "What?" They looked at each other.

Geet came out of the shock and spoke first ? "lekin tum log abhi ek week pehle ek baar to mile ho phir itni jaldi itna bada faisla kaise kar liya tum dono ne?"

Pinky replied slowly and with shyness visible on her face "tu thik kah rahi hai Geet. But actually me and Adi have met each other everyday since then."

Geet and Maan were shocked. Pinky continued "Sorry tum logon ko pehle nahin batane ke liye"

Maan ? "Lekin phir bhi, it has been just a week. Look don't get me wrong. We will be very happy if this happens; as a matter of fact even we have seen sparks fly between you two. What could be better than our best friends falling in love? But at the same time we do not want any one of you to get hurt. Have you thought this thru?"

Adi spoke now with confidence oozing out of his voice ? "I know it is just a week but we really like each other. Geet you are aware that Pinky's Papaji has given her an ultimatum that she needs to get married soon and there are two guys coming to see her next week. Upar se mere ghar par bhi bahut pressure hai. Maan knows about it all. So we thought, kisise ek baar milkar usse shaadi ka faisla karne se to bahut acha hai hum usse karlein jo humein itna pasand hai"

Pinky pitched in ? "Yes, that's true. We are just taking it as an arranged marriage but in our hearts we both know that even if it is not full blown love it sure feels like it. Then why to take a plunge with someone unknown when we both feel so sure about each other in first go."

Maan ? "hmmm?.i think I understand. I didn't know about Pinky but definitely uncle and aunty have been pestering Adi for long. They are coming to Delhi after two weeks and I am sure they must have already planned 3-4 girls for Adi to go out and meet. Aise mein if you two really like each other then why not"

With that he got up and hugged both Adi and Pinky. "Congrats guys?I am really happy for both of you"

Geet also joined the group hug "Congrats yaar?if you two are happy than so am I. I think we both need some time for the feeling to sink in. But this is WOW!!! Just tell us kya karna hai to get this work"

Between four of them they hatched up the plan to execute this love cum arranged alliance.
