This part is dedicated to Teju2292. I have another jealousy kind of track planned but that was much more serious. As Teju wanted an office related jealousy track so here it goes. But as both Maan and Geet work in very different fields it is a short one.

Thanks Heermeher for your feedback. We are slowly moving towards the confession but there are few more things before that happens. Let me know if this is getting boring as I plan to include some minor turns and twists before Maan and Geet are together.

I do try to include some dose of Maaneet moments in each update. Also, I am planning this to be a long FF ? 50+parts. So your frank feedback will be really good.

Chapter 28 - Consultation

Monday, Hospital, 9:00 AM

Geet walked in for her monthly examination. She was nervous as her last checkup had not gone that well. She had travelled to Mumbai and Maan had explained her further precautions to take after looking at her reports. She first went to lab to confirm that her reports were ready and had been forwarded to the doctor. Then she walked to find Maan's cabin. It was her first time in Medicity and was rushing to reach on time. She was a little red with nervousness and from the effort of walking fast. Finally she reached the desk and approached Maan's secretary. "Hello Madam, I am Geet Khurana and I have an appointment with Dr Khurana"

Nitya looked up to see a beautiful smart young girl standing in front of her with rosy cheeks. Nitya took a instant dislike ? "pata nahin kaun hai?kitni sundar hai?isko main sir ke paas nahin jaane dungi"

Nitya stood up "Sir is very busy. What is it about?"

Geet was taken aback a little but she continued hesitantly ? "I have a follow up check up with him. I already have an appointment"

Nitya looked at her computer. There was a remark from Maan for the appointment for Geet Khurana. Nitya frowned at the surname and asked ? "Are you related to sir?"

Geet was now getting impatient with all the questions. She rolled her eyes and winced looking at the time "There goes my next appointment as well". "No, I am not actually related but?"

Nitya cut her even before she could say that they were family friends "Oh I see, I was just wondering. Anyways, Dr Khurana is a very busy doctor and he does not take up any follow up patients. He only does surgery and looks after care of post operative complications. There must be some mistake here. Hence, I am transferring your case to Dr Mathur. He will see you in half an hour time. His office is first one after taking next left" Nitya pointed at the direction.

Geet was really fuming by now "You don't get it. I have an appointment with Dr Khurana and I want to see him not Dr Mathur"

Nitya smiled wryly ? "Sorry Madam. I decide whom sir meets and does not meet. Please go and see Dr Mathur otherwise you are free to leave"

Geet was very angry. No body dares to mess with her ? "What the hell?look at the nerve of the girl. Huh". Not wanting to but to avoid any more time wastage, Geet moved towards Dr Mathurs's clinic. "I will talk to Maan in the evening?.maybe he got really busy" She glanced back to see a smiling Nitya.

Maan checked his watch. 9:20?where the hell is Geet. He buzzed in Nitya.

"Has Miss Geet Khurana come in yet?"

Nitya ? "Sir?actually she came but she was a follow up case so I have sent her to Dr Mathur. You next appointment is also here. Should I send Mr. Chopra in?"

Maan was furious. He slammed down the phone and called Geet.

"Geet where are you? Please walk back to my office"

Geet was getting really mad with the ping pong game. "What do you think you are Dr Khurana? I am not a puppet ok and just to let you know I have a reputation too. Agar tumhein nahin dekhna tha to mana kar dete. Itna bhaav khane ki kya zaroorat hai?"

Maan cringed at those words. He could almost feel the smoke coming out of her ears. He knew he will have to placate his Jaan now "Please Geet?gussa mat karo yaar?acha tum wahin ruko?main hi aata hoon"

Maan came out and glared at Nitya "How dare you? Who the hell do you think you are to decide who can meet me or not?"

Nitya saw that everybody in the waiting room was looking at her. She felt embarrassed

"Sir, woh follow up case tha isiliye"

Maan ? "Ms Nitya, you are my PA. I take my patient's health very seriously and do not tolerate any interference or compromise. Are you a doctor? No?then how did you decide what needs to be done here"

Nitya gave her most sexy and dazzling smile? "Please sir why are you getting so hyper?I was just trying to adjust according to your case load"

Maan gave such a cold glare to Nitya that she almost froze "You are fired."

"What!!! But sir?"

"Ms Nitya, I only have one requirement from you. Please plan in an efficient way which allows me to give best possible care to my patients but you do not seem to understand it. I can never allow my PA to insult any of my patients leave alone Geet. So, you are fired. I will speak Sister Francis (Nurse's and PA's manager) about this"

Nitya was quite shook up. She knew her career at Medicity was over if Maan asks Sister Francis to fire her.

All the nurses and patients were intently listening to the altercation and by now no one had any sympathy for the girl because Maan had made it very clear that she has done something which was not in the favor of his patients.

Maan turned only to collide with Geet who had walked back to meet him after his call. He steadied her by holding at her waist to stop her from falling. Geet looked up to see a very angry Maan and ended up having an intense eye lock with him.

She ran her hand on his arm which was holding her waist. "Calm down Maan?rehne do?she is just taking time to adjust with your way of working?chado"

Maan just nodded and steered Geet towards his cabin. Nitya noticed the casual way Geet had talked to Maan including usage of his first name. No Dr. either.

Nitya ? "B****, told me she is not related. Liar?abhi batati hoon". "Sir, I asked her if she is related to you but she said no"

Maan retorted "Thank god for small mercies"

Along with Nitya, Geet also was very confused with Maan's remarks. As soon as they entered the sanctuary of his cabin ?'Kya matlab hai aapka ?you are happy that we are not related"

Maan ? "ab kya kahoon?kaise samjhaaon is ladki ko?acha hai na koi existing blood relationship nahin hai?ab naya rishta banane ke liye clean slate jo chahiye society ko"

"Umm?chodo na yaar?don't want to talk about her." Maan tried to change the topic.

Maan noticed Geet was nervously playing with her fingers. He kept his on hand on hers "Kya baat hai?pareshaan lag rahi ho"

Geet was surprised at Maan's observation and understanding. "Woh?.after last time's consult I am just a little nervous"

"Hmmm?you know Geet I wanted to have a 45 minutes appointment with you but Nitya only scheduled 30 minutes. On top of it because of all the nonsense which happened outside, we lost 20 minutes. By the way I am sorry abut that"

"Please Maan?Maine to ainwayi gusse mein aapko itna kuch keh diya tha?aap please sorry mat bolo"

Maan smiled "acha?to mein soch raha tha if you are ok let's have a proper consult in the evening at home. I want to spend proper time discussing all the details and don't want to hurry up."

Geet exclaimed "Sachi?I have no probs. Seriously meri ek important meeting bhi hai to it will be good"

Maan chuckled "you know Geet if I didn't know that you are such a workaholic I would think you were so happy to get away from me"

"Haaaw Maan?main to isliye khush hoon kyonki sab ko thodai na Dr Maan Singh Khurana home visit dete hain" Geet added teasingly

"Ok?we still have 10 minutes, will you have tea?"

"I don't mind"

Maan called Nitya and asked her to get a cup of coffee and a cup of tea.

Nitya almost dropped the phone "yeh ladki kya cheez hai?sir doesn't even ask for water when patient is with him and he is entertaining her with tea?uff"

She quickly got them tea and coffee. Geet chatted for another 10 minutes and then left for office with a happy mood. Somehow Maan's hand on hers was assuring her that all will be fine.

Maan called up Sister Francis and explained her about the incident. He requested for a more experienced PA specifically who was not that young. Sister Francis understood very well the dynamics as she had herself seen how handsome Dr Khurana was. She promised to a change as soon as transition was possible.

Evening consult ?

Maan sat with Geet in the study room. Nisha was also there and asked if she could be there. Maan shrugged ? "It is entirely up to Geet but it is necessary that she should be comfortable"

Geet was quite nervous and apprehensive but wanted her mom to be around. She had done this alone for too long.

Maan asked her usual questions related to her health and then asked specific questions about her hormonal changes. Some of them were quite embarrassing as they were quite personal but Maan was too professional to let that hamper. His professional demeanor made it easier for Geet as she answered them. Maan discussed her reports in detail changing her medication accordingly. He patiently explained her future possibilities as well and scheduled her next appointment.
