Chapter 7

Maan and Geet had both upgraded the version and were unaware of the surprise that they were going to get in few days. Geet had already gone to sleep and didn't realize that Maan was online at the same time. Even Maan logged out right after the upgrade got done and so hadn't checked the names in the online list.

London

Next morning, Maan left for an important meeting and like always, he got the contract. In this contract, a new person from India was going to come to assist them. All the girls from the staff were eagerly waiting for the young man to come.

Vicky: How can you all be so sure it is going to be a boy?

Sonia: Because mostly all the best persons turn out to be a boy. It's not so hard.

Maan: We'll see who comes. Right now, let's get back to the blueprints.

Geet attended Pari's phone.

Geet: Han bol.

Pari: Geet! Guess what???!!!

Geet was sleepy and so getting annoyed she said, "What?!"

"Remember the application I had sent to Khurana's construction company that is situated in USA?"

Geet: "Yea... So?"

Pari: "Well, I got the opportunity to work over there for 6 months for a project. Can you believe it? I will be assisting THE Maan Singh Khurana!"

Geet: What's the big deal in that?"

Pari: "Uff. Geet! You won't understand. Leave it."

Geet: "Thik hai Pari ji. I am very happy for you. Aab tu b jayegi Mujhe chor ke?"

Pari: "Hey, don't get sad. You are not fortunate enough that you can get rid of Pari this easily. You are also coming with me."

Geet: "What? No ways. I can't come."

Pari: "Then I am not going either. Bye!"

Before Geet could say anything, Pari had ended the call. She also put the phone down on its place and went to her room to go to sleep.

While lying down on the bed, she suddenly realized that Pari had said 'Maan Singh Khurana.' She wondered if this is the same person who recently became her new friend online. His name was the same too. But she was unsure as she didn't know if he has his own company or not. While wondering, she decided to surf the net. Thanks to her darling best friend, sleep had gone miles away.

Maan received an email after lunch from the client. He had forwarded an email from the person who was to come there (Pari). It said:

Hello Mr. Khurana,

I am very sorry to inform you that due to personal issues and problems I will not be able to come to USA to assist you. It just happened tonight. Really sorry. Hope you will understand and find someone else for the job.

After reading this, Maan didn't know how to react to it. Till date everyone has been jumping up and down to work with him. 'What type of a girl is she? Does she not realize she is losing an opportunity of a lifetime?'

He replied back:

Hello Ms. Parineeta,

I do not understand as to why you would reject the opportunity but if in any way, I can help you solve your personal problem, then surely let me know without any hesitation. You still have the choice to think over.

Maan

In India, Pari received this message on her iPhone. She was really happy after she read it. She quickly replied back:

Thank you! Actually, there is a way you can help me. The thing is that I do not want to come over to U.S. by myself for whole 6 months. I mean I can't leave my best friend over here all by herself. I asked her to come along but as she is refusing, I have to refuse your offer as well. And yes, I am well aware that I am losing an opportunity of a lifetime here. But, this is nothing compared to what I can do for Geet.

Maan was finding it difficult to talk through messages so he asked her in message:

Hey, it'll be easier if we chat. If you don't mind this is my FB id. Will you kindly add me? Thnx. ID: XYZ

Pari laughed reading this. She hadn't imagined that Maan would say things like this. She opened her FB and after finding Maan, she added him. She missed to see that they have one mutual friend: Geet

Pari: Hello

Maan: Hi.

Pari: Do you understand the situation?

Maan: Yes. I do. Let's think of some solution.

Pari: Thank you so much for helping!

Maan: It's my pleasure'

After few seconds.

Maan: You can try emotional blackmailing'

Pari: It won't work on her.

Maan:Oh... umm' what does she do?

Pari: She's an interior decorator. Just like me.

Maan: Hey, that's awesome. Then why don't you tell her that she has gotten a job here in United States and see if she is willing to come here that way..

Pari: Job!?

Maan: Yea, I know a person who is looking for new people to work with. She can work there.

Pari: Well, she is also looking for a new place to work at.

Maan: It's great then. Why don't you talk to her and see what she says. I can definitely wait for few days.

Pari: Will you? Thank you so much! I will let you know by tomorrow morning.

Maan: That's fine.

Pari: Good night. Thank you once again.

Maan: My pleasure. Good night.

Both logged out. Pari was happy that she can now work with Maan and also she won't have to leave Geet here all by herself. She went to sleep happily.

Maan logged in to his FB ID hoping that Geet was online. At the same time, Geet logged in to her account just for time pass. Both saw something and were shocked and didn't know what to do.

Both had seen each other online in Facebook chat. (That's why they were confused on what to do.)

Geet saw Maan online and realized that they can chat too.

'What should I do now? Should I send him message or I should I wait? Geet asked herself looking at Maan being online?

I think I should wait. Let's see if he sends me a message. If he does, I'll reply. She said nervously.

USA

Maan was doing the same. He too had no idea what to do. He was also debating on whether he should message her or not. He obviously didn't want her to get mad like the first time they had messaged each other.

'Shall I wait for her to send me a message or should I send her? Maan asked himself.

Both were confused. They didn't know who should send the message first. Maan was waiting for her message while Geet was waiting for hers. Finally after half hour both decided.

'Enough waiting! Why should I wait for him to send me message? I should send him. I mean I am not afraid of him or something'' Geet said to herself. So she clicked on Maan's name to chat with him and when window came she wrote:

Hi Maan

But she again was confused to enter it or not. Yes No Yes No Yes No'

'I give up waiting. Why should I wait? I mean I am boy and she is a girl. So obviously she must be waiting for me to send her message.' Maan said to himself. He clicked on her name to chat and wrote

Hi Geet

He stopped again hoping he would get message from Geet. He looked at enter but he didn't press it. For the last time, they both looked at the enter key and then to the screen. At last, they looked at the enter key and both of them clicked enter together.

After entering they got shocked as they got reply so fast. But neither knew that they had presses enter at the same time!

(The chat begins' So does the fun! ;) )

Maan: Hi

Geet: Hi

They stopped for a while and then,

Maan: 'How are you?'

Geet smiled at his question. 'I am fine. How are you?'

Maan wrote smiling: 'I am fine too.

How is your work?'

Geet: 'It's good. How is your work?'

Maan: Its good. It was a really tiring week for me I had so much work.'

Geet: 'Really? Well, I had a tiring week too. That's why I wasn't able to reply to your message.'

Maan: 'I see. Well it's okay. I didn't mind. Actually I have to admit, I was waiting for your reply. But when I didn't get any, I got a little disappointed .'

Geet: 'Ohh. Well we both got busy huh? Now we are friends' So tell me about your hobbies.'

After reading the last message Maan got a little nervous with all that's been happening. He had actually forgotten what his likes and dislikes were.

Maan wrote unable to think of other things: 'I don't know. I mean like bike riding a lot.'

Geet: 'Hmm and what else?'

Maan wrote remembering his childhood memories: 'Uhh I like watching WWE, movies, music of all kind... what more?'

After reading this, Geet laughed and she wrote: 'I see. That's it then? Huh? Nice ones.'

Maan wrote: 'Ya that's it. Tell me about yours?'

Geet stopped to think what she liked the most after what has happened in her life. It was a tough job. After few minutes she remembered. Geet: 'I love all kind of music like you and I like being alone. I hate crowded areas. And when I am free, I like reading books or browsing net.'

Maan got a little surprised after reading this. He was expecting a long list of hobbies but here he got just few things.

Maan wrote in teasing mood: 'Hmmm so you are scared of crowd huh?'

Geet laughed at this and wrote: 'Nope. I am not scared. I just don't like it.'

Maan grinned: 'It's the same thing. So what. You're scared of it.'

Geet: 'No Maan. It doesn't.'

Maan: 'Yes it does Geet.'

Geet's temper was rising: 'No. It doesn't. I am not afraid of it. Alright.'

Maan sensed that maybe she was getting angry. He wrote seriously: 'Hey I was just kidding. Even I have height phobia. I am scared of heights.

After reading this Geet started laughing. Not because of Maan telling her he has height phobia but to the fact that she was near to have another fight with him and again she misunderstood him.

She wrote still laughing: 'I am sorry. I misunderstood you again Thank fully I didn't start a fight.'

Reading this even Maan started laughing. Just then Vicky passed by his cabin and saw him laughing so hard after so many days. He quietly went away n left Maan to enjoy the moment. Both of them were laughing at the same time. But after minutes Maan controlled himself.

He wrote with a big smile on his face: 'Really? Well, thank god I cleared out everything before going through another fight.'

She wrote smiling: 'Yes but at least you didn't call me baby this time.'

After reading this Maan started laughing again. He wrote laughing: 'Yes. By god's grace ,I didn't. Anyways Geet where do you live? I never really asked you this?'

Geet: 'I live in India and I did tell you. Looks like you forgot.'

Maan got surprised. He scratched his head in confusion. 'Really? I forgot then. Isn't it late in India? I mean its morning here in USA?'

Geet: 'Yes it's late. But it's okay. It's Sunday tomorrow.'

Maan: 'You should still go to sleep since u had a tiring week.'

She wrote smiling: 'Ya, well that's true. I am tired. I will go now. Thanks for lovely conversation. I can't remember the last time I had so much fun.

Maan: 'So did I. You don't have to say thnx. Okay bye. Take care. Good nyt.'

Geet: 'Okay bye. Talk to you later.'

Maan: 'Yes sure. Bye.

After think for a second she asked: 'Hey, Can you give me your yahoo id?'

Maan: 'Sure its maan_rocks@yahoo.com

Geet: 'Here is mine, lonely_geet@yahoo.com

Maan: 'Thnx Bye now.'

Geet: 'You're welcome. Bye.'

Both of them left one after other.
