Thank you for all the comments Sheena and Jas thanks for all the spamming, here is the next part. I had real issues writing it, I am not happy with it but there you go!

Fate – everything happens for a reason. And when fate happens look for the good in it as it is there.

Chapter 12

Sid was getting settled into life in London, he enjoyed spending time with Niki bhabhi as he spent most of his time tormenting her or her tormenting him with mood swings. But it was nice to be around family, especially Abhi Bhaiya he didn't say anything regarding Riddhima or moving on but Sid was feeling happier being away from the environment in India, it was the change he needed to get his life back into order without the pressure of mom and dad telling him to move on with a new girl.

Niki's due date was now a week away and Abhi and Sid were building the cot with Niki laughing at them failing to do so.

"Bhaiya, we have to do it like this, look this is what the instructions are saying." Sid complained.
"Idiot, but what is the instruction above it."
"I know bhaiya but if we do it this way we can get this done quicker. I want to watch TV!"
"Shut up and do as I say"
"But bhaiya..."
"Abhi, Sid I think my water just broke!!"
"WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" They both screamed.
"Hospital now!" ordered Niki
"Yeh" They both agreed but were in a complete daze
Abhi went to take Niki to the car and Sid followed.
"Abhi, car keys, house keys, my bag, the baby's bag! We need all this stuff."
"Right, you guys go to the car I will bring everything" Sid offered.
They rushed to the hospital with Abhi and Sid panicking more than Niki running around like lost chickens.
Niki in her head was thinking she should be the one freaking out and then wondered what are these two going to do when the baby comes home, at least she knew it was going to be entertaining.

As they got to the maternity ward, Niki's doctor set up a bed for her and started with all the necessary checks with Sid and Abhi going into doctor mode, questioning the doctor about everything and checking everything.
"Sid and Abhi I will kick you both out of here, if don't let the doctors do their job, they know what they are doing."
They both nodded, worried if they said anything she would get madder.

As Niki went into labour Sid waited outside the room, and after 7 hours since her water broke Niki gave birth to a beautiful baby boy.
"Sid, Its a boy. I am a papa! OMG I am a papa! Ah I can't believe it" Abhi came out the room all excited.
Sid hugged him "Breathe and Congratulations Papa!"
"Can I go in and see them both?" Sid asked.
Abhi nodded. They both went in.
Niki and the baby were both asleep.
"He's beautiful. Looks just like Niki bhabhi."
"Yeh, he is. I can't wait to take them both home."
Sid nodded, he had tears in his eyes.
"Bhaiya, listen I am going to go home for a bit, if you or Bhabhi need anything let me know."
Sid was planning on going back and getting everything ready for them so they did not have to worry about anything and also he wanted to go and buy some presents for Niki and the baby.

The next day Sid went to visit them, his arms filled with gifts for both mum and baby. He knew they would be discharged later on in the day but that did not stop him.
As he came, Abhi left to freshen up and bring some things for Niki that she wanted.
"Congratulations Bhabhi!"
"Thanks Sid, and thank you for the flowers and card."
Sid smiled. "Have you thought of any names?"
"Yeh, me and Abhi had decided earlier if it was a boy we would name him Arjun."
As he held the baby he whispered to the baby "Welcome to the world, Arjun Modi. Have a wonderful life, because you have certainly brought lots of love and happiness for all of us."
She fell asleep in Sid's arms, Sid put her in the cot and the nurse came to take her away, so Niki could rest.

Just then there was a knock at the door.

"Come in" Niki said.
"Congratulations Mam!" Tashu said.
"Thank you, you came alone where is Shilpa?"
"Oh Mam, don't you know, her father is in a critical condition he is in ICU at the moment."
"What!"
"Is she ok?"
"She is putting on a brave face, but I think she is breaking down on the inside."
"Oh, let me go visit her."
"Bhabhi where are you going? I can't let you go there on your own bhaiya will kill me."
"Sid, I am just in the hospital. Plus Arjun is asleep and the nurse has taken him to the nursery so I can rest so its ok."
"Fine but I am coming with you."
"Ok then, chalo."
Tashu, Sid and Niki left to go to the ICU.

As they were heading to the ICU. Niki asked Tashu what happened and how long has he been in the ICU?
"Uncle, came in two days ago but he has been getting worse since you have been on maternity leave, I mean we were all expecting but it still doesn't feel real, I mean its just so unfair."
As they reached the ICU, Sid decided to wait outside as he didn't know the patient or who they had gone to visit he did not want to intrude.

Niki went in and saw Shilpa sitting by her father. She went a put her hand on her shoulder as Shilpa looked up.
"Mam."
"Shilpa, how are you? You didn't call me once to tell me the situation."
"Mam, I didn't want to disturb you, you were on leave plus this isn't your burden to bear."
"Stupid, I am a friend as well, I maybe your boss but all you had to do was call me once."
Shilpa stood up and hugged Niki.

Outside the ICU Sid and Tashu were talking
"So you are Niki Mam's brother in law?"
"Yeh. You are an intern here?"
"Yep, only have a few more months of my internship left."
"Yeh, I just finished my internship, I think I am going to take up my residency here in London now been applying since I got here, I think I have become settled to life her with Niki Bhabhi and Abhi Bhaiya."
"Oh you are a doctor as well?"
"Yep, just need a break for a while, but now getting ready to work again, being in a hospital has made me realise how much I miss working."
Tashu laughed "Hmm... I can't wait for the internship to end but I know it is just going to get tougher but still sometimes you just need a break."

Just then machines started beeping in the ICU. Tashu rushed into the ward and so did Sid... That's when he saw her looking scared, Niki took her out of the room as doctors and nurses rushed into the room... As she came out she saw him... They both froze.
